John sighed. He kept his eyes closed for the longest time after the room grew cold. "Amelia..." He said gently to himself. Just hearing himself say her name drove daggers into his heart.
He heard her voice saying his name softly. He opened his eyes and saw her. But...he thought it was a hallucination. And it killed him more. He turned his head to look at the gun but decided he would enjoy the peace of the hallucination for a little while. Though he knew it would only make it worse for him...

"John, please...John...I'm right here, I'm here..." she whispered, touching his cheek. "I'm a ghost...you have to believe me!" She placed her lips again his cheek, "Please, John please believe that I'm right here! I'd never leave you! Never!" She pleaded softly, her hair falling into her face just as it used to and she felt almost human...

A sick joke. A sick joke his mind was playing on him. Life wanted him to suffer. It always had. She wasn't right in front of him. It was just his mind, playing a cruel, sick, joke.
A tear rolled down his face, cutting through the icy point the hallucination's lips had left on his cheek. Just a hallucination. Nothing more. And everything less. It tore at his heart, and only made his suffering worse, he didn't even have the heart to reach for the gun...

"Dammit John!! This isn't a silly hallucination, this is real! Trust me, please, I need you to take a leap of faith and believe me. I need you to believe me, please...oh please John just believe me," Amelia moved her hand to stroke his cheek, wiping away the tear. "Would a hallucination be able to do that? Or this?" She kissed his lips just slightly before pulling away.
She regarded him with a sad blue eyed look. She had to find some way to make him believe that it was really her, that she hadn't left him, not for good. She forced all her energy into her hand. "You can't touch hallucinations," she whispered, closing her hand around his.
