Likes:
{2 Sunsets and Sunrises- Another hobby that Amelia and her father would pick up. She would wake up early and rush to his bedroom where she'd shake him awake and pull him out the door. They would sit on the balcony on the third floor of their mansion home and watch as the sunrise set a hue of orange across the horizon, silhouetting the buildings of Paris. They'd watch the sun set until it was completely dark, faint glimmers of the first stars hardly able to be seen as the lights of the city were too bright.}
{3 Her necklace- After the murder of her parents, Amelia had their wedding rings joined and put on a silver chain that she never takes off since it is the last thing she has of her parents - Elizabeth and Timothe Lerouz.}
{4 Music- music has always been a part of Amelia's life. Her mother was a natural pianist and tried to pass the talent over to her daughter, without success. But Amelia had always loved music because that was the only thing she and her mother had in common. Their love for music}
{5 Her team- Not in a loving way of course! But Amelia's team of cops in New York is her family. She loves them all for different reasons. }

Dislikes:
{2 Dresses - Amelia has a dislike for dresses because it was something her mother always forced her to wear when she wanted to wear simple shorts or tee shirts.}
{3 France - Amelia doesn't exactly like France anymore since that was where she grew up...and where her parents were murdered.}
{4 Friends getting hurt - no one likes their friends getting hurt, right? Well especially Amelia because ever since her parents were killed she has been terrified of the same thing happening to her friends.}
{5 being called crazy when she tells people of her dreams}[/ul]
Personality: {Amelia has a deep root of kindness in her. She judges no one by what they look like, but what they are inside. She’s ready to drop everything to help those in need, even if said person wasn’t the friendliest towards her.
Despite having a somewhat bad relationship with her mother, Amelia’s motherly instinct is strong. She’s willing to offer a home to anyone she meets if they don’t have one. She knows what it feels like to be left out in the cold to fend for yourself and takes pity on anyone is in that situation.
Amelia is confident in her choices and actions, which makes her a good police officer. She’s quick to act in tight situations and is often able to connect with those she interrogates in the field. Her sharp sense of wit and common sense is also something that proves to all that she’s good at her job. Her ability to notice what others can’t, due to many years spent on the street, is also something that sets her apart from the rest of her team.
She’s not afraid to go up to people and introduce herself. She doesn’t care what people think of her, which is somewhat odd considering her low self-image. Honestly, it is because she doesn’t believe what they think of her can be any worse than what she thinks of herself. Anyways, she’s not ashamed to admit she’ll go up to people who are sitting alone, looking rather withdrawn and introduce herself, asking how they are.
She possesses a rather dry sense of humor, always trying to lighten the mood in a dark situation. I daresay she would make a joke while in complete agony. Amelia has a rather strong sense of curiosity for what lies beyond her knowledge. She’s eager to learn and find the unknown. She’s up for any adventures or challenges thrown her way.
Amelia is optimistic, she always tries to look on the brighter side of the situation and will try to make things better and lighter with a joke.. However she's unable to transfer that good natured attitude to her nightmares causing them to be dark and cold. She isn't able to transfer these good feelings to her nightmares because she doesn't know how to turn them into something a little happier. That’s hard, incredibly hard though - turning nightmares into something happy, so I suppose you can’t really blame her.
Despite being optimistic Amelia does have her down sides. When struck, her anger gets into her into trouble and most of the time she does things that she doesn't want to, completely surrendering to her anger. She always finds herself in horrible places when her anger gets a hold of her. And often regrets doing what she did.
Along with all of that, Amelia has low self-esteem, despite not showing it much and covering it with a happy facade. She's afraid of being a failure, She's afraid of failing her father as well. She doesn't believe that she's worth the care of others and often expresses that. She doesn't think that she's worth their time, and certainty doesn't believe that someone could ever love her. Sullivan's words often come back to haunt her. Every word he called her, "stupid, useless, ugly," and so, she believed. She still believes it. I'm sure she always will. }
History: {Born with the name Anastasia Odette Lerouz, Amelia called Paris, France home. She had a peaceful life with parents Èlezabeth and Timothé Lerouz…that is as peaceful as it could get with a rich family. Whenever her father went somewhere he was flanked by a guard, her mother refused it. Being a daddy’s girl Amelia fell into all the painful lessons her father threw at her without protest as she had in fact asked for them. Despite her father's protests, early on, and his consent guard, she wanted to know how to defend herself. She did exactly as he wanted, spared with him after dinner and before noon, received broken bones at the age of five. At the age of seven Amelia knew how to kill a man five different ways with a pencil or pen. She knew how to reload a pistol and was starting to get the hang of shooting it. Her father was a likeable person and he always had her full attention. She was a strange child, always willing to learn. After time her mother became furious that her husband was teaching her girl so many macabre things. She threatened to take Amelia away if he continued to teach her (not believing it when both Amelia and her father told her that Amelia herself had asked for the lessons) and to fill her daughter’s time she enrolled her in beginner ballet while her father enrolled her in beginner gymnastics.
After a few years of taking the classes, it slowly became clear that Amelia wasn’t a normal child, she was smarter than she should have been at her age. Her brain was obviously wired differently and Timothé had always said he’d get it looked into…but he never got the chance. At age nine, Amelia experienced one of the first wars between her parents. She would hide in her room or underneath the piano as they fought. She couldn't block out the screams of her parents echoing throughout the house as they fought, brutal oral fights that left the front door slamming and tears hitting the polished dark wood floor.
As her parents grew farther apart, a divorce in order, Amelia was told she’d be forced away from her father. That he was a bad influence. That was a lie. He was the best influence on her. He helped her become who she is today. But anyways, her parents wanted a divorce…two days before the court date Amelia convinced them to have one last day together as a family. They were caught out late, laughing together one last time. Amelia was home alone when she got the news. Her parents had been murdered by a man who purposely crashed their car, killing himself in the process. She had been given the news by a friend of the family and had run away from home, not knowing what else to do since her loving parents were gone.
When she was found by the police she was shivering with cold and sobbing in a heap on the cold ground. She was then taken by a guard, after the funeral of her parents to Manhattan where her aunt and uncle resided. They took her in, a deep depression causing her expression to harden and an unknown anger to rise in her. She hated everything and had tried to commit suicide more than once. Those thoughts of suicide stopped when she started having vivid nightmares. She woke screaming one night after experiencing the first of many nightmares. Her aunt Valerie rushed in and asked what was wrong. Amelia explained in vivid detail what had happened. She had seen everyone…murdered…and then herself…
However to her aunt and uncle, she appeared insane. She described things so vividly and she was beginning to scare them. After years of waking and screaming her aunt Valerie and uncle Bruno threw her out. They left her on the streets of Manhattan when she was only thirteen years old. She lived on the streets, learning to steal and live on only what she could find. She hid in buildings without roofs and in unlocked cellars if she was lucky. However it wasn’t always hiding there was running and stealing. She became a master at picking pockets and often paid the price for stealing. Several times she was kidnapped and beaten until she was close to death. And that was how she met Henry Bishop, her savior.
As a member of the NYPD, Henry was sent when word hit that there had been a beating of a young girl in a warehouse. When he found her he was horrified at her condition and instantly transferred Amelia to the hospital. She was in there for a few days, out cold. In that time Bishop cleaned up legal affairs and took her in as his own after consulting with her aunt and uncle – the Marenzs. Amelia stayed with him for years, learning about guns and police and Manhattan. Just as she was turning nineteen, Henry was killed while investigating a murder. But there is a whole lot they don’t know about Amelia, one thing being her name is Anastasia Odette Lerouz It wasn't long after her birthday that she met a man, named Sullivan Mortissimo. She fell in love eventually. The two lived happily, until Sullivan's brother was killed. Then he turned to drinking. He often came home in a drunken rage. And in those drunken rages he would beat her. She'd eventually pass out from the pain, but awake with aching bruises. For three years she suffered through his endless torture, then she left. At age twenty-three, Amelia entered a college and passed after three more years of hard work. Soon after leaving, she got a job as a GCPD Police officer. }
