Betty smiled at him as he explained, and found it a heroic tale. And feeling his hands still on her hips, she looked into his eyes and smiled. "I noticed when the hulk was with me it's like having a split personality, though I do not know how he see's you. But he must recognize me as someone worth protecting, since you have saved me a few times. Well you and the big guy, and I hope that side of you knows I appreciate him. Ive not seen him in a long time" She said and chuckled at herself.
Hearing his stomach growling she grinned happily and stroked his cheek, he was everything to her and would continue to love him and who knows if he ever wanted to marry her. That she would in a heart beat. And taking his hand as they headed out, she took her car keys out and looked over at Bruce with the look of love on her face. She did miss the big guy but knew that messing with the hulk would be a bad idea, then again she wondered what the hulk thought of her. If he saw Bruce as perhaps weak, then why so gentle to her?

To her, Bruce AND The Hulk will be her hero, to save her from the enemies of The Hulk. He remembered how much he hurt her still, keeping that guilt inside of him forever since being on the run. He even remember one day while out in snow cold, pulling out a gun, pointing it at him. Bruce just wanted to end the pain, the misery he put on Betty and everyone he cared about. Did The Hulk care? Hell no. Bruce transformed into The Hulk and screamed Banner's name, so sick of puny Banner and who he was all about. Betty did not know about that moment and will tell her soon.
Bruce got in the car with Betty as he went inside, took a seat and put on his seat belt. Making sure he was strapped in just right. Then he saw Betty get in the car with him and smile at her. "So, where are we going to eat?" he asked her as Bruce leaned his head back and relaxed. Anywhere would be nice and he didn't mind. He liked a lot of foods, mexican, japanese, chinese, you name, he liked it. As long as it was with her, nothing can go wrong and life couldn't get any better than this right here.

When they got into the car she began to drive off and was thinking a lot, they had been together for such a long time. And wanted tonight to be special so she thought dinner, drinks at her place and perhaps they would take the very first step to becoming true lovers. But she just shook that idea while she allowed herself to drive. Since really she didn't want to be distracted. That was the last thing she needed right now, though Bruce was the only serious boyfriend she had. Which meant many things, but she smiled hearing him.
"Well I was thinking some Japanese food since I know you like it, you have never been a picky eater. Least not when it comes to me" She chuckled and took his hand in hers. "Actually Bruce I have something for you" She took something out of her purse. And handed it to him and smiled as she drove "Before I knew you could control your changes I Bought you this, it helps monitor your heart rate to help the big guy stay in check. But you could still use it, works as a watch as well. " She said happily.

Bruce looked at the item Betty gave him, a monitor for his heart rate. Very interesting, and that it works as a watch. Bruce looked at Betty and smiled, “Thanks Betty. I think I used to have one of those before The Hulk broke it during one of those situations but this is great” he said as he put it away. “I’ll keep this just in case anything happens but thank you” he said to her. He had a gift for her as well but he decided to wait until they got to the restaurant. It’s something that he kept during his time in Canada, that one item that he forgot to give that always made him think about Betty from time to time.

She smiled at him and nodding "I am glad you like it, just a little me always with you. When you..well you know save the world?" She said with a kind grin. Placing her hand on his, she looked at him for a moment and kept driving. Pretty soon they got up to the restaurant and got into the perfect parking spot, grabbing her wallet she got out of her car. She always wanted to know what kind of future he saw for them, she wanted to be Betty Banner maybe have one or two children. But never knew.
But tonight she would ask him about certain things, when she got out she waited patiently for Bruce, reaching her hand out to him. Her brown eyes looking into his, the night was peaceful and hoped to god that no one would screw this evening up. They had one like this in a cabin long ago, and because of certain things the night was ruined. But this time she just wanted time with the man she loved, to possibly talk about the future and wasn't afraid to think that far ahead. Like most people. But Betty wasn't like most people of course.

Getting out of the car, Bruce took Betty's hand as they went inside the restaurant. Times like these he wished he could of had in the beginning when they first got together, when they were boyfriend and girlfriend. Maybe if he didn't get injected with gamma radiation and not being The Hulk, life would be normal for them. As long as he had The Incredible Hulk on his back, nothing could stop them. He wished he could have gotten rid of that monster years ago but it's like they can't be broken a part.
Once they were in the restaurant, a waiter showed them to an open table. The two walked up to the table as Bruce, the gentlemen he is pulled out a chair for Betty. "Here you go" he said before Betty sat in her chair. Bruce sat in his chair too before the waiter gave them both menus. As the waiter left, the two started to look into the menu. Bruce liked a lot of foods including Japanese so it wouldn't be a problem. The Hulk would eat anything to, surpassing himself whenever on the loose, sometimes thanks to anger.

When they went into the restaurant together she knew tonight was going to be very special, she just didn't know how special just yet. She was so happy to be with him, Bruce knew how to read her. He was so open to everything that she always told him everything, and it was such an open relationship she was never afraid of his reactions to things. She would stay honest and true to him, just as he would with her. But right now once he helped her sit, she smiled so happily. She was happy how this was starting off"
"I am glad your not a picky eater Bruce" She said teasing him a little bit "I know when I was little I was one of those kids who were so picky about what I ate, I am sure you would have just loved me" She said laughing at the kid comment. Looking at Bruce she had eaten here before, and with him once. So she already knew w hat she wanted. She looked at the menu again though just to make sure about it, seeing they still had it she put the menu down and ordered a diet coke since they had it.

“I already love you Betty” he told her. “And just for the record, i’m not that much of picky eater. I mean there’s a lot of stuff I like…I just like food” he said as he chuckled a bit. For all those years on the run, it was like Bruce had to change his last name so he wouldn’t get caught. Along the way, he met a lot of good people who needed help. It required even The Hulk to come out when thugs, criminals, and low life’s would threaten the daylights out of the little people. Sometimes there were those that did not care about the wrongs and the rights but to Bruce, he couldn’t take it anymore.
Ordering a diet coke, Bruce put the menu down. “Thanks for doing this Betty. It feels that everything I lost those years when I became The Hulk…everything is coming back. You for instance…I thought you didn’t want to be with me at first and I was only trying to protect you. Now that were back together…I want to spend the rest of my life with you” he said to Betty, telling her the truth of how we felt. “We don’t have to worry about your dad or his Hulkbuster’s coming after you or me. We can live the life that’s meant for us Betty because I love you with a passion”

Betty smiled about his comment about the picky eating and then thinking for a second "Well if you were a picky eater Bruce I would never take you out to eat" She giggled and reached over placing her hand over his. When he continued to talk about how he wanted to protect her, her face became very friendly and loving just at the thought of it. The thought of being without Bruce Banner made her stomach hurt, and didn't ever want to think about it. Which was why she always looked at the positive side on things, which was him.
"Dad never understood you, he never liked you even before what happened to you. Dad always wanted me to be with the military man, I wasn't raised. I was nothing but a recruit that he wanted to control, which is why I am the woman I am today. You taught me long ago to stick up for myself, to stop letting him push me around. Well I listened to that advice, I mean I have to admit first time I saw you get pissed and the hulk came. I didn't know what to think like most people"
Looking down for a moment she smiled at the memory "But the minute I looked into the big guys eyes, I could still see you there. Even when you had no control, I figured that no matter what the hulk would never hurt me even on accident. You have saved my life so many times, and without you I had a miserable life wondering where you were all the time. When you left a part of me went with you, and a part of me died because I was afraid id never see you again. And yet you came back"

What was it that General Ross hated so much about Bruce? Put aside The Hulk, and what do you have? Bruce Banner, you’re regular guy who’s just trying to live a normal life in the world. Well normal until the birth of The Incredible Hulk came around. Bruce saw a lot of strength in Betty for someone like her to step up against her dad from time to time. Bruce would not smile but hid a smirk since the old man couldn’t order her daughter around. She’s grown woman, very intelligent but beautiful too and Bruce knew many times he was lucky to have her.
“When I was on the run…I could think about many things but you were the person on my mind” he told her. “I can remember the time we first met at college. You were beautiful with the brunette hair…that smile that always caught me off guard…you’re just an amazing woman” he told her, telling the truth about the woman sitting across from him of the table into the restaurant. “I just thought that at first you would just..well you would just reject me because of the big guy but you didn’t. You are one strong woman Doctor Ross and I look forward to our future together”

Her father didn't like anyone unless they were well respected, and the thought of her father made her want to go where he worked and kick his ass. But she wouldn't do it, she didn't want to cause any more problems. She had lost both her parents now, but knew that one day they would start a family together. At least she hoped, even with the big guy around she didn't know how there cards would be played out. But she didn't care, rather they had kids she didn't know. But s he would be there.
"Bruce if I rejected you and the big guy I would have become my father, and the bastard would have won. Father didn't like anyone unless you were a respectable man in the military, my dad is a solider through and through. I was never raised in a nice place Bruce, I was brought up in a boot camp. I wanted to come out of my fathers shadow, and meeting you helped me do that. Meeting you helped me realize my full potential and what I wanted to do with myself. I love you and the big guy for he is a part of you as you are a part of him"

Betty was right, if it wasn’t for him, Betty would not find the love she wants. She wouldn’t be with Bruce, just some military army guy her dad would set up, just for her, not Bruce. The waiter came back with there food as Bruce took a sip of his drink before thanking the waiter. “And I love you too Betty. You and me are lucky people to be where we are at. We would just be miserable finding love…well not that miserable but you get the point” he said. He took a bite of his food and thought to himself that this night was turning out perfect.
“Thanks for this night. I didn’t think that what we have would work at first because of the history, the past. I thought you would move on like I wanted you too…but you didn’t…and here we are having a good time” Bruce said as he smiled before raising up his drink. “Here’s to many more years of us like this” he told her as they continue there time together. Once they were done, the two went to Betty’s place to have some drinks, talk and do all of that. But looking at Betty, she wanted more from Bruce and Bruce would give it to her, no matter what she asked of him

She smiled at Bruce and heard the toast she lightly tapped his glass with her own and drank to it "I tried to move on, but found it impossible to. I know you are the one true love of my life, I mean I think I am the only open minded woman willing to be with someone as special as you. But I am glad I never moved on, because right now we have everything we need right here" She said happily and reached over stroking his cheek. Dinner with him was amazing and when they went to her home, the night was just beginning.
