Bruce sat in his own lab at The Avengers Mansion. It’s where he worked from time to time, it’s also where he and Betty live too when they get to spend time with each other. After the battle of Manhattan which most people would call it, Bruce and Betty reunited after realizing they were meant to be together. They moved in together and worked on their relationship, and each day was getting better for them. They didn’t even have to worry about Betty’s dad coming in and taking Bruce from her. As far as Bruce knew, Betty and General Ross were not on speaking terms.
In the lab, Bruce started to work on the new equipment. It’s called Banner Tech, something that the two came up with together. Bruce knew that even if he is a green monster, he had to defend for himself as well. Some of these new weapons would help Bruce if there was any dangerous situation. As he started working, he heard the doors open and looked up, seeing Betty as he smiled. It’s always good to see her, always bringing light to his days. “Hey Betty” Bruce said as he stood up, kissing his lover on the lips softly. “What brings you by?” he asked her as Bruce sat back down in his chair.

She couldn't help but want to stop by, she truly did love the man as well. So she decided to make a little surprise visit. That and she did have to talk to him about something she decided, since her father had given her a choice. And she made it without hesitation. And when he greeted her she smiled happily and when he kissed her on the lips, she wrapped her arms around his neck. Showing just how much he meant to her.
"Well I just wanted to see you, since we pretty much found each other again after spending so much apart. I have done a lot of thinking, and came up with what I choice to do. Normally I tell you everything, but there is one thing Ive not told you. But you know how me and my father are not on speaking terms, he came to see me early this morning. The man gave me an ultimatum." She said as she sat down crossing one leg over the other.

An ultimatum? What could her father be up to this time? It was no secret that General Ross and Bruce dislike each other. The general was always on Bruce’s case, sending the Hulkbuster’s after him time and time again but would always come up short. They don’t call The Hulk, the strongest there is for nothing, not even the army could defeat him. It would take someone like Thor or even Iron Man to get the job done and Bruce trusted them more than Ross. Bruce crossed his overs his chest, as he sat back and listen.
“And what is this ultimatum?” he asked Betty as he listens. He knew it was hard for Betty to be torn between the two people she loves the most. With her father, it was like an obsession to defeat and capture The Hulk and look what happen. It cost him almost everything with the relationships of family and friends. Some people didn’t even know who he was anymore. Bruce pity’s the general and wish he could let go and get help. For Betty he would be civil if they ever encounter one another again, which would be unlikely.

She never liked to bring up her father to Bruce, because Bruce really hated him. Which didn't surprise her because of what her father kept doing to him. Sending his troops to attack him, if it wasn't for her father he would have had an easier way. But now she was bringing up the most hated man before the man she loved, but there was a reason for it really. So looking into his eyes, she actually smiled. Almost like she reached a certain peace. Stroking his cheek with much love, as she began to speak, telling him all.
"He told me to come work for him, be the little girl again basically. He would give me the world if I asked for it, but the price was you. I could never see or speak with you again. Even now when I am thirty he still tries to pull the strings, people don't see what I see with you Bruce. Accept maybe those you work with, father see's the beast you become, but me? I see the man even when the hulk comes out. You taught me to put trust in you and the big guy"
Looking down she sighed some and knew she was no longer wanted by her father. "I choose you Bruce, I could never turn my back on you. Not with everything we both have been through. So it is official my father has disowned me and already telling people that I am dead. At least dead to him, and if he sends his troops to go after you. I have eyes and ears within his people he doesn't know about. Father may have resources but so don't I" She said with a smile.

It amazed Bruce and made him feel lucky for being with such and incredible, beautiful woman such as her. After all the hell that The Hulk put her through, including her father, she still wanted to be with Bruce. He felt that he didn’t deserve her but still loved her no matter what. After hearing everything Betty said, he smiled and shook his head. “I must say Miss Ross, you sure are one bad lady” he joked and chuckled a bit before getting serious. “But really, you made the right choice and you should move on” Bruce told his lover as he took her hand, giving it a soft squeeze of comfort.
“Your dad will never change but I think from what you told me…he’ll leave BOTH you and me alone” he said to Betty before continuing. “And I am under SHIELD so your dad would think twice before going after me, it’ll just be useless. What we need to do is focus on each other, stand by each other when were in trouble….it’s what makes us better” he told Betty before leaning in to kiss her softly before he pulled back slowly, looking into those eyes of his. He felt complete with Betty, she is his everything and then some.

She looked up at him and heard what he said, and her look of hurt on her face showed on it. Smiling happily at him, and then when he leaned in and kissed her. Closing her eyes as she held him close, as he held her. Everything was just so wonderful with them. She would never trade what they had for each other, her father had lost much by telling her what to do. And knew if she had said yes to her father, he would pull the strings of her life till he died. Which would leave nothing left.
When they pulled away she nodded "I know, he made a mistake because if I wanted to I could make his life hell. But of course I wont, you know you may have put me through a lot with everything Bruce. But Ive put you through so much as well. Because of my father and his stupid troops, when you left I knew mostly it was to protect me. But I never stopped waiting for you to return to me, I even was able to figure out where you were when you left. But before I could react you came to me again" She said lovingly "I will always be by your side Bruce, always remember that"

“Thank you Betty…for being with me….for believing in me when others like your dad didn’t. It means a lot” Bruce said to her as he could see the determination and strength in Betty. Bruce’s life was filled with nightmares and violence. His father, a man who abused his mother and nearly killed her, put in jail but came back to Bruce, trying to bring out the beast within him. Bruce could never understand his father and what he did to Edith. It was David that wanted Bruce’s power to be more powerful but Bruce could never let that happen.
From knowing Betty, he knew she had a difficult life as well even when her mother died, so they had similarities. The past was gone and they could focus on what lies ahead. Bruce looked at his watch before he looked back up at Betty. “So anything else?” he asked her. He had nothing else to do, besides working on Banner Tech equipment. He had the rest of the day to spend time with her but Bruce knew it’s up to Betty. He did not ever mind being with the woman he loves the most.

Betty smiled and thought for a moment, slowly standing up she looked at her reflection and didn't see much of her father in her. As she looked into the reflection that came off his equipment, flashes of memories started to take hold of her. Closing her eyes as she took a deep breath with everything going on with her, she smiled happily. Seeing everything they went through, when she opened up her eyes and knew she choose right. And knew that everything that was meant to happen is to happen. Placing her hands on her hips, and turned a bit.
"So Bruce you think you can spend some time with your girlfriend?" She asked and turned looking at him. Walking up behind him she wrapped her arms around his neck and held him close. She truly was happy right now and knew that this was meant to be. Running her her hand against his cheek she looked at him with a tender look. "Could spend some time just you and me, city is quite so it would be a nice time to do something just us." She said with such a happy smile on her face was even more noticeable.

Looking at Betty reminded Bruce about all the times they spend together. Even that one night when they were on the run, spending the night in a hotel room. It was just the two of them in bed together and there was sexual tension of feelings and just as they were about to make love for the first time, Bruce pulled back. He didn’t want to risk hurting her by letting the beast come out but now things were different. Bruce is now able to control The Hulk. He didn’t mind if tonight was the night for him to show Betty how much he means to him.
“I don’t mind spending the rest of the day with you. I’m free Betty so we can do it” he told her with a smile on his face. He got up and started to put the equipment he worked on away, so that no one can get there hands on it. If someone did, then they would risk the consequences of what will happen. He didn’t tell anyone but Betty about it, it was there own little project together. Once Bruce putted, everything up, he looked at Betty and walked up to her. “So, where shall we go? I’m up for anything” he told and asked of his girlfriend as he waited.

Betty was surprised he was so willing, since she knew he loved his work. But knew of course he loved her as well, So it was nice he had two loves in his life. And she knew that he would do anything for her, which is why she chose him over her father. Her father didn't love her enough to accept her and Bruce, even when Bruce couldn't control the hulk. She didn't care, she stayed with him and didn't allow anyone to tell her what to do. He was never the monster people always saw.
So right now she just smiled at him and when he put everything up and asked what she wanted to do, she thought for a moment and looked at him. "Well how about a nice dinner, and maybe come over to my place for a drink" She knew first time they were going to be together he stopped, afraid he was going to harm her. She loved him even more for that as well, he treated her so different then any other woman. Betty would bend over backwards for the man. Because she knew that everything would be great in the end.

Any time with Betty is what Bruce needed. She always listens to him whenever he needed advice on something. Betty will always be his saving grace, his angel that protects him, gives him comfort, those were the things he needed. “Sounds like a good plan to me Betty. I’m ready whenever you are” he said to Betty before putting on his jacket.

She put on her jacket as well and took his hand and was curious about something "Bruce can I ask you something?" There was always something she was curious about, but the question about the hulk was always something she never brought up since before he wanted to cure himself of it. She looked into his eyes and loved the way that he looked at her. She wrapped her arms around his neck and grinned happily, since the question she needed to ask here just to protect him.

“Sure, you can ask me anything Betty? What’s up?” he asked, straightening out his jacket. He placed his hands, both of them on her hips. He like being this close to Betty, having her as the center of his world, the one that keeps him connected. Bruce now listens to Betty’s question and he can answer it anyway he wanted. It may not be the best answer but all he could do is his best. The man was not perfect in anyway and the Hulk showed that through his different side.

Betty smiled at him happily and looked into his eyes "Seems like a life time ago when you told me you wanted to get rid of the hulk trying to get rid of it. But now you have managed to control him, That takes a lot of strength and it makes me wonder how on earth you did it. I mean I am very impressed and I am glad, you seem more free" She said happily. Running her hand against his chest and was very happy about everything. Taking a deep silent breath she let it out, curious as to what he would say.

"It's a long story" he said to Betty, his hands still on her hips. "To make it short, it's called breathing techniques. When I was on the run in thirty one days, I ended up in Bella Coola, British Columbia. That's where I could transform in a controlled manner" he explained to Betty. "All in all, I like it because it's fair to let the big guy out when danger arrives so i'm glad for that" he said and for Bruce, he knew there's a like/dislike between him and The Incredible Hulk. Hulk saw Banner as weak and puny, not strong enough like Hulk.
But they've been having some kind of 'bond' as of late, they don't like each other but they understood one thing: acceptance. The world could never see The Hulk as a hero but Bruce saw the potential. The sound of Bruce's stomach started to growl a bit. "It seems like this guy is hungry and the big guy too" he told her as he chuckled a bit. "We should we head out Betty and i'll follow your lead Doctor Ross. Lead the way" he said and teased her. He took her hand, giving it a soft squeeze before looking at Betty.
