He opened his eyes slowly as Tony Stark sighed, it was morning, the day after yesterday’s battle in Manhattan. It was where The Avengers defeated Loki and his army to save the world, but it was also where Tony almost sacrificed his life for others, especially for Pepper. Taking a missile into space and to make sure it goes to where it needed to almost made Tony feel like everything he’s done in his life was worth it. There were many people to think about including the woman who was next to him, sleeping peacefully in there bed, Virginia “Pepper” Potts. She was worried about Tony and even he called her when up in space, but didn’t get an answer. He could understand that she was in the jet with others looking at the TV, and Pepper just praying, hoping that Tony would come out safe. Tony wanted to do something special for Pepper as he got up, took a shower, dried off, put on new clothes and made some calls. He remembered a few weeks ago, before everything almost went to hell, that Pepper made a nice dinner to celebrate his birthday. So what would he do to return the favor? A nice and quiet breakfast between the two of them in there apartment. She put up with his BS ever she worked for him years ago so Stark would show how much he meant to her. He watched Pepper sleep before hearing the door as he opened it. The people came in with what he wanted as he took the tray, rolling it in the bedroom. Tony walked over to Pepper’s side before kissing her forehead. “Wake up Pepper, time for breakfast” |

Many things had happened within the past few years, first she started working for Tony and then who would have thought she would actually be a CEO. The honor was a good one, but she noticed that it looked like Tony who was much like a playboy. He started to change though he didn't really know why, she thought perhaps he had a girl he wanted to ask out. This was before she knew Tony as well as she did, he held a ton of secrets at the start of this. Which was understandable since Tony found it hard to trust.
But she didn't take it as a bad thing either, he was just rather careful, but over the time she grew to really care for him. And who would have thought that she was the reason he was changing, he stopped his habits. Though he did like to drink, but not enough to get smashed. And she didn't get jealous when he looked at other women, because she knew that he would be honest and faithful with her. But when he told her about the whole Iron Man thing she was rather surprised about it all.
But of course she would never ask him to stop being Iron Man, he was a hero to many. Even if there were others who worked for the side of good. But still there was nothing wrong with one more, but then when he did what he had to recently. She was terrified that her boyfriend was going to be killed, and that terrified the hell out of her. She was so scared of losing him, praying the whole time. And she didn't realize he called her from space, if she missed that phone call and he ended up dead?
Pepper would have never forgiven herself for missing the call, but thankfully he came out just fine. Though damage was extensive on his suite. She knew it could be repaired, and other then the armor of his suite it protected him. She was so glad that he was okay, and for once in a long while. She was actually able to sleep. She had no idea it was morning. And more over, she had no idea what he was doing right now. But then she heard him tell her to weak up, it was breakfast time for them, opening her eyes.
"hmmm?" She said her eyes open and smiled sitting up a bit.

“There’s my best girl in the world” , Tony told her as he smiled a bit. “I hope you like breakfast. I got us our favorites and no…I didn’t make it...but it still looks good to me” , he said, teasing a bit before, joining his lover in bed with the tray of breakfast. Carefully he placed it in the center of there bed, then Tony started to open up the two trays. One for Pepper and one for Tony featuring the orange juice and water, so the two wouldn’t starve themselves to death. In all honesty, this Avengers thing almost cost the man something to take a bite out of so now was a good time to eat. Having it with his girlfriend was the icing on the cake, with no interruptions since he just wanted to spend the day with her. Once everything was laid our on the tray, Tony took his glass of orange juice. “I would like to make a toast” he said as he raised his glass of orange juice. “To you and me. Yesterday I went through so much with The Avengers and I thought….I thought I wouldn’t make it back”, he said and admitted, looking at Pepper in the eyes, with what he said with meaning. This is where he‘s being honest t to Virginia. “The only thing I could think was you when I was up in space, making sure that missile headed straight to where it needed to be. I’m glad I am back in one piece. I may owe it to those that were with me…but I owe it to you Pepper”, he said sincerely. “I love you”, he told her before the two started to clink there glasses of orange juice. This time it did not spill but there wasn’t a lot of orange juice, just the appropriate amount of it.

Pepper saw the way that he looked at her, and thought that something was wrong. She knew that he was rather emotional after what the hell happened since yesterday no one knew that he would survive and it terrified the hell out of her. She had loved before, but Tony was so much different. Before her Tony was an ass and he loved drinks and women. But she never judged him, since that wasn't the way she was brought up. And she never really hated him to start with, part of the reason why she decided to work for him.
And seeing the breakfast she had a feeling that he didn't make the breakfast, since she had never seen him cook. And ever since he told her he was Iron Man, that she knew just about everything. Though she figured he didn't tell her every little detail, she just knew that he was pretty open with her. More open then any man that has ever been in her life, it was amazing with all the jack asses she had dated in the past. But she grew a back bone when she was nineteen to take care of herself.
Hearing what he said she smiled and took her juice hearing his toast. And reached over and stroked his cheek, she truly wanted to be his everything. And she decided to admit something to him "Yeah when you tried to contact me by my phone and I never picked up, if you had died Tony I never would have forgiven myself for missing the only chance to say goodbye. So I am glad that you made it, because my life without you and yesterday just really showed me how much I love you. And will be here for you as long as you want me"

For her not to pick up when Tony needed her the most was upsetting. But as she explained herself, Tony listened and understood her reason. Who else would be scared that the man you love is a superhero and went into space, never knowing if he would come back? “Thank you Pepper and I get it now. I’m sorry for making you look scared while I was up there. It’s just that I had to take that missile and throw it up in space because if it hit the city then everyone would have been history”, he explained himself to Pepper. He wondered who would do such a thing while The Avengers were on the brink of defeating Loki. US Army? The government? They were fools to do such a thing whoever they were, so desperate of ruining things in the end. "But I am here for you Pep, I will always be there as long as you want me too”, he told her as he took a sip of orange juice. “And also I was thinking for today we should forget about work, forget about business and focus on us”, he suggested. “I mean our place is in one piece and Stark Towers will need some rebuilding but that can all wait tomorrow. Today it’s just you and me Virginia“, he told her, letting Pepper know that she comes first. If Fury or SHIELD came knocking at his door, he would just ignore them or maybe send one of his Iron Man suits, fool them a bit. “So what would you like to do for the rest of the day? I’m up for anything?”, he said and asked, before eating his breakfast, taking a bite of some delicious French toast. It’s day like this that made Tony the King of The World. |

He was always something else Tony had done much and the man always had a smile on her face, though in the back of the head she wondered just how he felt about Nick Fury and the others. She didn't exactly know everyone, but from what she saw and heard, she trusted them. And was glad that they seemed happy, even more glad for Bruce Banner. Everyone needed love and Bruce was a very sweet man. Just like Tony. Looking down at her breakfast she heard everything that he said to her. Pepper was taken back by everything he said.
"I know you do what you do because you want to, and I know being with you I knew what it would mean. But I would never ask you to give up Iron Man just so you know that, I have gotten use to worrying. Honestly most of the time when it's something simple I don't worry. But this business with Loki has really gotten me thinking about our future, I have never brought it up since you have more pressing matters. But it means a lot to me that you would put everyone else on hold"
Sipping her drink as she reached over and squeezed his hand, she loved him more then life itself "I love you Tony and I would love to spend the day with you, it's been a while so I don't know exactly what to do. Unless you wanted to travel some place, maybe a different city. Id say visit a different country but I don't think you have that kind of time" Pepper said with a rather bright smile on her face. As she dived right into her french toast, it even had some sugar on the top that she loved.

"Well you're my number one woman Pepper. You come first, everyone else can just take a back seat to be honest", he said to her as he took a sip of orange juice. When he was rescued in Afghanistan and came home, he changed. He knew what he had to do to change his life and that's by removing the weapons his company was making. Then making Iron Man that benefited the free world. It impressed and amazed Pepper for what Tony was doing. Even though sometimes he let his super hero image get in the way at times, he was a better man. Not just because of himself but because of Virginia. She's the one that clothed him, fed him, bathed him everyday, now that's the voice of reason instead of listening to business. As far as today goes, Tony did not feel like traveling and why would they? There was an alien invasion led by a crazy asguardian. Who in there right minds want to even travel? He didn't even feel like working and listening to his employee's discussing why his company need more weapons. He didn't want to hear it from them. Tony chuckled a bit before he spoke. "We can just spend the day here in our bed, our home or any part of it. We'll forget about the world and focus on us, besides, a day with you is like a day to take good care of me", he said and teased at the end. Sometimes Pepper would act like a mother figure to Tony, telling him to come back home at different times, to not miss meetings and Tony would reply....'Yes mom'. He'll never forget those moments.

Pepper smiled at him with love and she actually was kidding about the travel comment, and when he said that they could just stay and enjoy each others company. Which sounded very good to her really, her eyes looked at him. To her Tony was everything to her, who would have thought that he would change so much. But it was all for the better she knew. And she was just happy with his suggestion, not getting out of bed. Nothing wrong with that idea, it actually made her really smile. An idea she hadn't even really thought of.
"Alright Tony that sounds good, just you and me in bed all day" She said happily. To her heaven was with them alone, no business and no outside life. Just the two of them loving each other, an idea that made her really happy. She continued to eat her breakfast enjoying the tastes and looking up at him, she sighed happily and allowed herself to enjoy his comfort. And reaching over carefully as not to spill anything, she kissed him looking into his eyes. "I love you Tony, really without you I don't know where id be right now"

Just as Tony was about to eat some more, Pepper kissed him and looked into his eyes. Tony could see the love in this woman’s eyes too, hearing to every word she meant. That red hair and those eyes, that look of hers could drive any many crazy especially The Invincible Iron Man himself. Tony even felt like he didn’t deserve Pepper in the beginning thanks to his playboy attitude, but it’s like they were made for each other. Why did it take it so long for them to be together? Maybe as one music group of the past, they saw the sign, opening up there eyes. Tony caressed her cheek before he leaned in, kissing her softly, brushing on her lips, returning the favor. Tony knew what he had to do next. After what happened yesterday, almost losing his life on the line, he needed to cherish moments like these with Pepper. He had to do one thing: connect with Virginia intimately. What’s the crime in that? He needed her, he wants her bad and the only thing he could do was hold Pepper close to him and not let go. “I love you too Virigina”, he said. “Listen, how about we finish up breakfast and once I put everything in the back…maybe we can…”, he started to kiss Pepper on the lips and neck very tenderly, to her shoulders before looking up at Pepper. He smirked and looking at Pepper, he was going to get his wish. |

It was a rather amazing feeling being with the man she loved, he could do so much. He had more money then god and he could be a mean corrupt son of a bitch but he is neither. He use to be a stuck up ass but now that he had her in her life. Only Tony was allowed to call her by her first name, everyone else knew her as Pepper. She use to have nick names and Pepper just stuck, but feeling him kissing her she was just in heaven right now. Taking a deep breath as she sighed happily.
Feeling what he wanted and when he began to kiss her neck she moaned a little bit, running her hand against his cheek. Then when he kissed her again, she knew exactly what he wanted. So making sure that everything was okay and hoped that no one was going to. So right now everything was good, and looking into his dark eyes she wrapped her arms around him. And she nodded to him, showing that she would be with him the way he wanted. Her face turned into a pretty big smile as she stroked his jaw lovingly.

Hours later… Tony felt Pepper’s head near his arc reactor, the one that still shined after the two of them made love. It was beautiful, sweet and passionate between the two like it always was. They remained intimate for that special time and after that, Tony continue to hold her close to him. There were sounds of silence in the room they lay in every night before going to sleep. Tony looked at Pepper who looked happy and in bliss, Tony felt the same thing, he just didn’t want to show it that much. He wasn’t like anyone who would rub it in his/her face after whatever he did…ok…maybe a little bit because he’s Tony Stark. Tony kissed Pepper’s forehead, bringing her in some more. He loved it when he had Pepper’s like this because of her love and what she brought to the table. From kissing her forehead, Tony started to kiss her lips softly before speaking. “That was much better than yesterday ya know”, he joked to Pepper. “I’m just glad we can still be like this every time when we need each other. I want to cherish moments like these that make me feel grateful Virginia”, saying everything from him that he meant. She was like an addiction and a drug of love that Tony can have everyday when they came home from work. He would just talk to her, make her smile, crack a joke and his day would be complete. Without her, he’s just nothing but the old Tony Stark, the one who could never get a life. That old Tony is dead and the new Tony can keep doing what he loves to do. Building, saving people, continuing the role of a superhero. “How do you feel?” |

She loved being able to do this with him, Tony meant everything to her and she wanted to share it with him. Running her hand down his chest she returned every kiss he gave her. And she honestly was very comfortable with him, they had been through a lot together and when they were like this it felt like heaven really. Hearing what he said to her she nodded, she agreed that they had to take these moments and to enjoy and remember them. She truly enjoyed these moments since they didn't happen very much, but even if they happened every day she would love them.
"You are such a tease Tony Stark you know that?" She chuckled happily and stroked his strong jaw, and looked into those eyes that could pierce more then a knife could. Just the way he looked at her made her realize that she wasn't alone, and he chose her over Shield every time. Which really made her trust him, she thought for a second at his question. "I feel great Tony, but when I am with you I always feel great. Even when we can't always be together like this I feel alive with you"

“I’m always a tease Pepper which no one can take from me” ,he said to Pepper. “And when I am with you I don’t care about the world, business, SHIELD, work or even Iron Man…I care about you and I love you”, he told her as he kissed her softly on the lips. He held Pepper close to her while he looked at the window, seeing the sky and the sun shinning on Pepper. She looked like a sweet angel from above, greeting Tony with her presence and love. He could talk to Pepper about anything, being a listening ear from time to time. Tony looked down at Pepper and thought of something that she would like. “So…Pepper…how about we…just get lost in ourselves…”, he suggested by kissing Pepper’s lips and her neck before looking back at Pepper. He knew she would like it as well just the need of wanting each other, appreciating how much they both mean to the world. He looked at Pepper in the eyes, only a look that can make Virginia weak in the knees. It was Pepper that made Tony who he was today and he would show her a lot of that. “So what do ya say Miss Potts? Shall we…continue?”, he asked in that husky tone softly in her ear before hearing her answer. OOC: You can end it

Pepper smiled at Tony at his suggestion, looking into his eyes how could she say no? Pepper loved him very much and would do anything he asked of her. She had been asked over the years and she always gave in to Tony. But love did that to people, it made you not want to think. So she stroked his cheek and nodded to him. "Sounds like a good idea Tony" She said happily and leaned in kissing him deeply. Running her hand carefully down his chest. Her kiss was deep and fu ll of love and wanting of him.
