Logan had woken early that chilly day and was standing outside on the balcony, a sigh on his lips as he pulled the cigar from his pocket and set it alight. He brought it to his lips and took a long drag of it and blew it out, the vapor rising in the air. He leaned nonchalantly against the banister, looking out at the grounds as the sun set a dim glow to the landscape. His eyes traveled to where his knuckles were against the wood. Every time the claws came out, he’d feel them ripping through his flesh…he’d grown to ignore the pain.
Wolverine took another long drag from his cigar, feeling the sparks softly bite at his lips and the smoke burn as small breaths of it went down his throat. He coughed slightly at the soot in his mouth, the ashes on his tongue. He pulled the cigar away from his lips and blew out the smoke, his eyes browsing the landscape, the trees, the fountain, he took it all in. It was home. Despite the fact he frequently left Xavier’s it was a sort of home to Logan; in some sorts. It had all the things a home should have; annoying siblings, who could be either your worst enemy or your best friend; a man who served as a sort of father and a beautiful woman with fiery hair and perfect brown eyes. Of course there was only one person that Logan could have been thinking about.
Jean Grey. He thought she was beautiful and he was positive he felt something, no matter how small, toward the woman. He found himself thinking about her when she wasn’t near and when he spotted her with Scott his blood boiled and he just wanted to punch the other mutant. However, Logan knew better than to do that. If he did that he could lose the place among those he respected and cared for. Besides Jean there was always Rogue and Xavier. He would lay his life down for the three of them in a second. Without hesitation.

Jean had been doing a lot of thinking lately, before she met Logan life at the mansion was rather simple. She was with Scott Summers and everything tore apart when Logan came, but she didn't regret knowing him. Before Logan the school didn't really have a day of negative activity. But as Jean began to know the man she saw him the way no one else did, Jean had an open mind. Perhaps it came with being a mutant that was like Xavier, she could jump into people's heads, not that she would ever do it to anyone here.
But her skills helped her to see things that no one else could see, from the start she knew his story. Knowing there was a lot he forgot, though she could help him and would in a heart beat. She wondered if he ever found himself, the man had been put through a lot, and it surprised her that he was the way that he was. Humans put metal into his body, giving him the kind of pain that no one should have to go through. But Jean had grown to honestly and deeply love the man that he was.
Jean knew that the relationship with Scott, something was missing. Scott was sweet but he had become almost corrupted with his hate for Logan and Logan hating him. She knew that she could have whom ever she wanted. She watched him in the dark, seeing him on the balcony. She had reached the choice, having to pick between both men was hard. She stepped one foot in front of the other, carrying herself with such cold confidence and she had already told Scott her choice and he was silent to her. Which was his way of most likely hating her.
"Hey Logan" Jean said with a rather kind manner to her voice. Placing her hand on his shoulder and squeezing it softly.

Logan turned his head when he heard that kind voice. His eyes, piercing, circular and blue, met her perfect orbs of brown. A smile tugged the corners of his mouth. "Jean," he greeted her with that small smile, the cigar down by his side. It was early and he wondered why she was up and not sleeping. "Couldn't sleep?" He asked, since he was usually one to sleep in and wasn't sure when everyone else got up.
He turned so that he was facing her, feeling a little bad that the smell of ash and smoke clung to both his clothes and to his breath. He wouldn't feel that way if it was someone else. Well maybe if it was Rogue or Xavier but never Scott.
Wolverine found his eyes on the sun rising on the horizon. He would have said something about the peacefulness of it or something like that just to get a conversation going but he had no idea what to say so he kept quiet. He wasn't about to make a fool of himself in front of Jean.
(OOC :: sorry! I'm kinda failing at Logan right now XD)

Jean smiled at him and the smell of his cigar's never bothered her, she nodded a bit to the comment about her not being able to sleep. She slowly walked on out seeing the sunset, she crossed her arms as she closed her eyes. Her mind was racing around like she was going made. Putting her hand up to her face, she just didn't know what he would say if anything. Taking a deep breath she let it out, and dropped her hands. Her Brown eyes scanning the area as she gripped the rail, looking over seeing the grounds.
"Ive made a lot of mistakes Logan, yet you never blamed me for them. You have been through more then most, you have seen so much. Been hurt, sometimes I wonder where I am going. I told Charles I sometimes wanted to just give up this fight. Like I am locked in a room banging my hands against the door, like I could break it down. My heart has been torn in half between the fighting with you and Scott, been trying to figure out why I am worth fighting for. But I finally know what I want Logan, who I will continue to fight for" She smiled.

Logan looked into her eyes, glancing down at her hand when she placed it over his knuckles. He placed his other hand over hers. "I'd never want to hurt you..." He told her looking deep into the brown eyes of the woman he loved. "Even ask Scott, I'm sure he'll agree that I'm an animal..." He knew Scott would agree.
"You won't have to force me to do anything," he said and then put both of his hands on her cheeks, looking at her for a moment with his circular soul piercing blue eyes and then crushed his lips to hers, his eyes closing as he kissed her with a hard passion.

She heard what he said and was taken back by it, and smiled at the thought of everything and then he touched her cheek. She could sense his fear that the claws would come out, you cannot hide those things from a telepath she didn't need to read his mind she knew it. Placing her hand over the hand on her's and smiled. "Your heart is the biggest here Logan, you love me but it scares the shit out of you. Afraid you will hurt me accidentally, but I am not afraid of you Logan. I am not afraid to love you"
She had chosen who she wanted to be with and slowly wrapped her arms around him, looking into his eyes. Her free hand came up to his cheek. Logan was special that much she knew, she knew all about the man she was in love with. Wolverine a man who's first name was James but went by the name Logan, smiling happily at him. "I want you Logan, let me love you" She said afraid that he maybe to scared. But right now she just didn't care. Taking a deep breath and let it out silently.

Logan wasn't sure what to say at the moment. His heart was beating rapidly in his chest. He couldn't stop a small smile from lifting his lips. He met Jean's eyes. He could scarcely believe what she was saying to him. No one had said anything of the kind to him before. It was new for Wolverine. Her arms were around him and he slid his own around her waist. "I'm an animal Jean how? How are you not afraid to love an animal? I - I could hurt you..." He didn't know if he had the strength to say what she wanted. He didn't think he'd be able to say it. But he opened his mouth and said, " Jean I love you."

She heard what he said and it hurt her to hear him call himself an animal and heard what he said to her, Jean knew this was rather hard for him. Logan had been through so much, and thinking about what to say she gazed into those eyes. "Logan your not an animal I know what all your abilities are and you have the ability to sense animals feelings. But you are no animal, and I am not afraid of what you can do to me." Taking his hand and lightly placed her fingers over his knuckles showing she wasn't afraid.
"I love you to Logan, I will not force you but id like to be with you and we can take it as slow as you like"

Jean didn't know how much he could go through before he felt totally an animal unless its already happened. "Scott has never liked you Logan of course he would call you an animal. But Rogue would never call you that, Xavier never would and neither will I ever see it. No matter how aggressive you can be, I love you Logan and you don't have it in you to hurt me. You care for me way to much" And she felt his hand going over her own and pretty much showed she had all the faith in the world.
And before she knew it he leaned forward and began to kiss her, before she knew it she returned the kiss. Feeling the kiss being rather hard but she could feel the love he had for her, her arms wrapped around him again as she returned the kiss. No longer could she hide his feelings and let everything come out, she wasn't afraid of anything. And knew it would be harder then hell to kill him off, though she didn't want to see him hurt. She loved him way to much for that, and together would protect one another. "I love you" She managed to say.

Logan sighed at her words. "Never to my face...but maybe they think it...I'm not telepathic like you Jean, I couldn't tell you what Rogue or Xavier were thinking if someone gave me a million dollars..." However he knew he could trust her word. He trusted her with his life. He didn't trust anyone but her. Well maybe, just maybe, Rogue and Xavier, but never as much as he did with Jean.
He broke the kiss and gazed into her eyes. "I love you too..." he told her, a little breathlessly from the kiss. He'd kissed a hell of a lot of other women, but never with as much passion and love as he had with Jean.

Jean smiled at him and rested a hand on his chest and gazed into his eyes "James Howlett now you listen to me" She said using his real full name and looked into his eyes. "I am a telepath and I know what people think, though I do not use my powers on people really. Being a telepath ive learned to read body language and how people act. Xavier and Rogue don't see you as an animal. "If Charles saw you as an animal you never would be allowed to stay here, and Rogue she has grown attached to you"
She said and smiled at him "Trust me like you have for a long time, you are fine" She enjoyed the words "I love you to" Come from his lips. It was beautiful since she knew it was hard for him to say it. Running her fingers against his chest and sighed. "So knowing how we feel about each other, the question is how long will you stay here. Since you have been a lone...err wolverine for a long time" She said showing him all the effection and tenderness that she had for the man in front of her.

Logan placed his hand over hers and smiled, looking into her eyes, something Scott was unable to do without his glasses. He shrugged at her words about Rogue. To tell the truth he was quite find of the girl, there was a certain fondness that he held deep within himself for her and of course for Jean herself. He didn't say anything about Charles, just gave a little shrug.
"I still need to know what I forgot..." He told her, a little regrettably. He wished that sense of knowing wasn't nagging him, pulling him to where he didn't know he needed to go. That sense of getting so close to something only to have his hope of finding out all he'd forgotten shattered when he only stumbled upon another piece to the puzzle, unable to fit the pieces together.
He sighed moving one hand to gently caress Jean's cheek. "I don't want to go...But I need to know..." He knew that she'd understand, he hoped she'd understand.

Listing to him she smiled she could tell something was up as well, and when he said what he did she remembered he had forgotten things. And it was time she helped him with it, but she wondered if he would let her do it. He was no longer a lone wolf and had to show him that. Looking into his blue eyes she grew so lost in his she knew that he was so happy. And she was thinking of how to tell him, looking down for a moment a soft smile formed on her smooth angelic face towards him.
"Logan I can help with that, I can read mind remember things long forgotten. Your not alone any more Logan and there is no shame in asking for help, especially from a woman that you love very much" she said with a rather kind glance. Running her hand against his cheek, showing she was there for him. Showing no one was going to separate them.

I must confess I feel like a MONSTER
Logan met her eyes. He knew that she knew how much he hated people poking around his hand, but she was different. He loved her and she wasn't afraid of him...he didn't understand how, he didn't think he'd ever understand but he trusted her. He squared his shoulders, licked his lips, searching those eyes he loved so much.
He tried to just blurt out yes but was unable, his thoughts plagued him. He didn't know what she'd find there and wasn't sure he'd like what she found. He didn't know what had made him like this, and part of him wanted it to stay that way. However the nagging sense of curiosity, that devil upon his broad shoulder, dragged him in another direction. He drew in a heavy breathe.
"Go ahead..."
