Betty had gone on with her life, but every day she keeps thinking she sees Bruce. But when she goes up to the guy it was not him, but she has dealt with her. Her relationship with her father was pretty good, and he tried to get her to go out with a man but she refused to. Saying Bruce would come back for her, and that got her into a couple fights over the months. She had not slept very much, and two years felt like twenty. She kept hoping for his call, she ended up losing track of him.
Her father kept telling her he was dead, but she would never die. She still remember what she said to her father before she left the night of his birthday. "The Hulk will never let Bruce die!" she yelled and ran out. It was a choice she made gladly. But she now was heading to the bank to get some money taken out. As she was walking she heard an explosion and she was startled by it. She stopped walking watching people running past her. She grew rather confused about it as well, Betty had no idea the building was falling.

It was a normal night for everyone. Just cars going by, people walking, talking, going out to restaurants and doing whatever they want. Lately, it was almost like every day, the news would come on and a report would show The Incredible Hulk, whether it was a sighting or him saving lives. News reporters would interview people…even a little girl who said that The Hulk saved her when she was about to be kidnapped. It proved one thing…that The Hulk, even though he’s a monster, The Hulk has saved many lives. He was a hero and that would get Ross angry every time he saw it. He was blinded by his own ego and would not stop until he captured The Hulk. A woman named Betty Ross was just running out of her father’s home. Basically something the old man said, almost sink into Betty but she fired back with her comment. She did not believe in him anymore and did not know what made him into who he was now…a monster. She could no longer stand Ross and his complete control of the situation. Suddenly, an explosion hit as people were running for it screaming and trying to get out of harm’s way. Betty was confused and not noticing that a building was falling over her but then suddenly…something big…something green captured Betty in his big and muscular arms and together the two of them jumped out of the way before the building collapsed. Betty was saved but by who? THE INCREDIBLE HULK |

Betty was hearing the screams it started to scare her, and then she heard something behind her and saw something raining down on her head. But at the same time she felt someone or something grab her from behind. And her world just got a bit more complicated. Her brown eyes noticed first that she was being lifted off the ground, and then looking down she saw a big arm and it was green. She got a flash of the first time she met hulk, he was so nasty to others but he was a gentle giant for her and only for her.Looking up she saw the emerald giant he had taken her into safety and for once in two years she was able to keep her guard down.
She felt the warmth of his skin, the welcome of it and she smiled some. She placed her hand down on his, though her hand was dwarfed she still loved this man more then anything. Every day she loved him more and more and now he was back in her life. Tears started to wield up in her eyes as she couldn't help but utter one word to him.
"Hulk.." The love she had for both Bruce Banner and The Hulk could be heard.

“Betty”, Hulk opened his hand and with one big finger he wiped off the tears coming down from her eyes. Hulk always had a soft place in his heart for Betty Ross, even though punny Banner loved her more. Both Bruce and The Hulk cared about Betty a lot. Hulk would be there for Betty whether Ross like it or not, and the same thing went for Bruce. Suddenly…Hulk started changing…starting to shrink down and down…the color of his skin started turning normal…and he was no longer The Hulk. The Incredible Hulk is now Bruce Banner, the man who loved Betty Ross. He and The Hulk saved her life from being taken away from a stupid explosion. Bruce walked up to Betty and hugged her tight before kissing her passionately on her lips and didn’t even feel tension. He stopped and looked at her before breathing, sighing and before asking one question that will get a normal answer out of her.
“Miss me?”, Bruce asked with a smile and chuckled.

Betty watched as hulk brushed her tear away and she smiled holding onto his finger nuzzling his hand. This felt like a dream, but when he put her down she watched the changes happen, watching the big man turn into the one she loved more then life itself. She had to stop herself from falling everything in her just wanted to slap him for taking so long. But then he kissed her, and her arms wrapped around him feeling the kiss she had longed to feel for two years. But right now she did not know what to say about it.
"Of course I missed you, you have been gone two years. I was able to keep tabs till about six months ago you fell off the grid. Dad said you were dead, but I told him the hulk would not let you die. I am just glad your with me now and your okay" She kissed him again running her fingers against his neck enjoying him enjoying everything it was just perfect. Her heart was beating quickly. She was really wonderful and she was beyond happy. Bruce was here after so long, and she wanted him in every way possible.

It was like Bruce felt alive once the two of them kissed again, Betty was in full control and Bruce did not mind. It wasn't like he would turn into The Hulk because he's been practicing ways to control his anger and let the big guy out when trouble was on the loose. Once they were done kissing, Bruce looked behind her and there was no General Ross to stop them which was good. "Oh really? Well I guess he doesn't know me that well....including the big guy" he said with a smile on his face. "Come on Betty...I wanna take you to the cabin...we are closer to it" he said to her as he took her hand. Bruce led Betty to where the cabin was located, the one where no one, not even the general can find them.
A few minutes passed before the two of them reached it. They walked up the steps before Bruce opened the door and coming in with Betty. "I have something to show you", he said as he took her inside and straight to the kitchen to where they could both smell something good. It showed a table for two filled with two plates of food, two glasses of wine, forks, knives, candle's lit. "This is all for us Betty. Think of it as a romantic dinner for two...and to show how much I missed you", he said before kissing her again softly. "Shall we?" he asked her, in other words for them to sit down and eat. Bruce was hungry and even The Hulk was hungry. Bruce led her to the table before pulling out her seat, then Banner sat down.

Betty heard what he said and smiled taking his hand as she followed him. Her father did not want the chance to know him, and she hated him for it as well. Though she still loved her father, she did not know if she had to because they were blood. But the only thing of his that she has is his blood, which doesn't mean a damn thing in the personality department. She walked inside and was taken back by what he did and smiled at him, returning his kiss she smiled at him and sighed happily. She sat down and looked at him.
"So tell me Bruce, you left here telling me you wanted to get rid of the hulk. Yet here you are back and the hulk still a part of you like he has been. What has changed?" She asked curious, reaching over the side of the table, placing her hand on his and smiled lovingly. She still could not believe the man she loved was right here in front of her. It was amazing and she was honestly happy that he was here. And even more happier that the hulk was still a part of him. |

"Good question", Bruce said as he took a sip of wine. "A lot has changed for me during the past few years. Yes...I was on the run from your father and the army...I went everywhere in the world changing my last name...working in other occupations...meeting people...forming new friendships. At times there were people getting threatened and hurt...that's when I knew I had to bring The Hulk there to save lives", he explained to Betty, taking a bite of food before swallowing. "That's when I knew from those times that The Hulk can be used as something good...something that he will not be looked at as a monster", he told her. "I'm sure you've seen me on the news with all my green glory out so that everyone can see", he chuckled before continuing on.
"Also...I have learned how to control myself and containing the beasts in me. It's very simple, I use breathing techniques to be calm and one with the body and mind", he said to her. It was impossible and people would not believe him but he would only get angry when people started pushing his buttons around. "You may or may not have known this but I joined a group formed by Nick Fury, Director of SHIELD, called The Avengers. It's me, Tony Stark, Natasha Romanoff, Thor, Hawkeye, and Captain America. We saved the world from Loki, Thor's brother, when he unleashed an alien invasion on New York. It took a team effort to defeat him, sending the trickster back to Asguard", he said and told his side of the story, taking another bite of food.

Betty heard how he explained himself how he controlled the big guy and sitting back in her chair she listened rather contently. And believed every word from him, sipping her wine as she heard him go on about SHIELD she had heard of the team and director. She took another bite of her dinner and smiled the whole time, thinking about something. And she excused herself for a moment and grabbed a small box and came back. Sitting back down she had it in her hand and when he finished speaking she pushed it to him. Inside it was a watch and he would know more about it.
"Well it sounds like you and the big guy have been busy, to be honest Bruce I am glad he is still around. He has made it clear on two occasions now that he likes me. And I would have missed him, but all I wanted is your happiness and if you are happy now then so am I. I am sorry about my father as well, I don't know how you do it Bruce. You love me yet my father wants you captured or killed, I don't know why you love me so much" |

“To me you’re like a guardian angel always watching over me wherever I am at”, I said to her. “I love you for who you are Betty. Sweet, kind and always helpful”, he told Betty as he smiled, ready to tell her the brand new news. “Oh and speaking of your dad…he or other members of his fake Hulkbuster group can’t touch me since I am a part of the Avengers, that’s also a part of SHIELD. His days of hunting me down are over sweetheart so The Hulk I don’t have to worry about it”, he told Betty. If Ross heard this, he would be throwing a fit at Fury but he can complain, cry all he wants to, he can’t do nothing about it.
Ross doesn’t see The Hulk at all as a hero but the old man was getting nowhere with it. But no matter what, there’s no chance that he’ll get over his obsession of taking out Bruce and The Hulk. The only thing it has done is damaged his relationship with Betty for all these years. It seems like she’s moved on without him or trying to be on good terms with her father. Bruce did not notice this first, but there was a small box. When Betty went to excuse herself she came back with it. He wondered what was inside of there.“So what’s with the box Betty?”, he asked her.

She was actually rather happy about what had happened here and could not help but smiled and was happy by the news that he had for her, finally her father could never touch him now, she was rather glad about everything really. Everything was perfect in her life right then, the hulk was still there and he was gaining control which was very good. She finished up the rest of her meal and sitting back she put the wine glass to her mouth and drank the wine but then heard his question about the box, putting the glass down she smiled.
"I tried sending this to an address you gave me but it came back, that's how I knew that something was up since you fell off my grid. I made it special for you, though now I am sure that its actually useless now but wanted you to have it any way, open it up" She said she knew the watch could help him keep tabs on his blood pressure but though the watch maybe useless now she still wanted him to have it so he knew she always thought about him, did not stop not even for a moment.

Opening the box, Bruce took it out and it looked like a regular watch but Banner looked at it closely. It was something for him so that he can monitor his blood pressure if he was starting to get angry or upset. He did not need this but decided to keep it anyway just for good measure. "This is great Betty, thank you so much", he told her as he finished his food and wine before looking up at Betty. "Since you gave me this present I decided to pay you back. Hold on", he told her as he got up from his chair and left to get her present. Minutes later Bruce came back with a small box, nothing that big as he placed it on the table, moving it towards Betty so that she can open it.
"And there is my present to you sweetheart. Go ahead and open it", he told her. In the box was a special necklace the one that she gave him before he left, before he went on the run. It was not like Bruce to just forget things people give him, especially Betty. All the while being on the run, he looked at this necklace and thought about her every time. Bruce had come to accept who he is and work within smaller places around the world as a unregistered physician. He didn't mind the help because he's a doctor that cares about people. The Hulk didn't like puny people, he did not trust them but lately Hulk has had a chance of heart thanks to Banner himself. They started to bond but still have a few issues to work with.

Betty smiled she knew the watch wouldn't be needed but she was glad he liked it any way, since really what more was there. But then he said he had something for her, she grew rather curious and then watched him come back with a small box, narrowing her eyes as she grinned and took it in her hand and opened it up. When she did she smiled seeing her necklace again, running her fingers over the gold chain she sighed happily. She was just so glad that he was home, she put it on and sighed happily.
But she could not help but feel the tears slowly fall down her cheeks, placing her hand on his. "You know, you never really know how much you can miss or love someone, you are my heart Bruce you always have been. And dad can never separate us, he can try but we are our own little army if you will. No one knows you like I know you, so much ignorance in this world and you do not realize it till something happens and people freak out, especially with you. The people see only the monster, but I see the man" She said lovingly

Bruce just smiled and listened to Betty before she finished. “Thank you Betty, that means a lot. Most people these days are just scared of not only me but The Hulk and they have a right to be afraid. The just don’t understand but one day they will know that Hulk stands for something good which I plan to use him when all hell breaks loose”. he said to Betty. “Also, since you’re here with me right now there’s something I want to tell you”, he told her as Bruce cleared his throat. He knew that what he said, Betty would really agree and want it so here goes nothing.
“I would like us to be together Betty” , he said to her. “I mean let’s face it. I am having more control over The Hulk until to bring him in for rescue and better yet you’re father can’t even come near me. He can’t even get past SHIELD because if he ever did…then he would face the consequences and that’s not pretty”, he told his lover. “So what do you think?”, Bruce asked Betty, sitting back and placed his hand on hers before hearing her answer.
