Every moment she felt a soul slipping into the world of death, it bothered her. Lord, she thought bitterly, Am I really becoming this...this...soft? The thought sent irritation rippling through the macabre goddess of death.
She ran a bony fingered hand back through her long, knotted black hair that only grew from one side of her half exposed skull. She had been called many things Edessa, being the prettiest of them all. That had been her name before another god, Arthuro, cursed her to be both beauty and beast. Now...now she was just Hel.
A sigh left Hel Darkashe's mouth, lingering in the chilled air before her as she surveyed her surroundings. "Why...?" She murmured to herself, "Why?" She just wanted to die...but she herself couldn't die. She'd just keep coming back, a little weaker then before but she would never truly die. She chose when to cut the threads of life, she needed to live. But she didn't want to do it anymore...

A young looking, blonde haired woman crouched on the parapet of a building overlooking the streets below. The streets and lights stretched on for as far as the eye could see. As night started to set in, she could feel strength returning to her, getting rid of whatever tiredness or fatigue she had felt before. She took a deep breath and exhaled, feeling much better now.
The goddess sat quietly watching over the city, her abnormally bright blue eyes searching the streets below for any sign of trouble. It had taken her a while to sort out her strange dreams and realize she was the goddess of night, the moon, and stars, but she had figured it out. Now, she could remember all of her formerly broken memories and she was at peace.
Her softly curled hair hung in her face as she heard a noise and looked down to see what it was. Just a shop owner locking up for the day. Shadows were now growing longer as the sun set and moon rose to claim it's place in the sky, giving light through the darkness.

Hel didn't know who or what the woman was but was somewhat curious. She blinked, her vision dark for a mere moment before the moon light flooded her one steely blue eye. She sighed and watched the vapor rise.
She brushed her bony fingers across the peeling side of her face and winced slightly. She was a monster and she knew it. She bit down on her lip sighing as she cut the thread of a man in the hospital who was suffering from cancer. She could hear the screams of his daughter as she begged him to come back and Hel winced.
Shit... she thought bitterly. I am getting soft.

Selene finally decided to move, as nothing was really happening on this side of the city. Standing up on the edge, ran along the parapet to jump to the next building. She continued this and stopped every so often to look around. It seemed to be a quiet night out so far, and the moon continued to climb higher into the darkening sky. Selene had learned from past experience that even though it was calm out now on this side of the city something was just bound to happen. It was inevitable.
Upon looking around out of habit, Selene noticed another woman not that far away. After a moment of trying to figure out who it might be she came up with nothing. Who was it? She pondered, a little curious.

She could still remember Bruce holding Hailey's body close to him as she lay in his arms dying. She almost cut the thread, almost killed her, but something made her stop. The woman would make it. There was a strong sense of urgency in Hailey and Hel had known that the soldier would pull through.
She didn't cut the thread. It was probably to most sensible thing Hel had ever done.
That led her to bring Robin Blake back from the dead, she had watched his wife suffer over his loss. Arthuro had killed him, he hadn't been meant to die, so Hel sent him back. But was that the only reason you did it? A voice in Hel's head asked her.
No.
She hadn't.
She had done it because she wanted him to be with his wife.
Hel really was getting soft.

Selene watched the figure for another few moments before deciding whoever it was wasn't a threat as of now. She jumped off of the building to land lightly on the cement below. She put her hands in the pockets of her jacket, looking like any other person, that is, until you saw her eyes or the SHIELD-like uniform she wore under the jacket.
While on her little patrol, she would stop to look in the alleys and unsure crime wasn't going on. So far, nothing... She continued to walk, and soon heard footsteps behind her. They followed her a ways behind, but she knew she was being followed. A quick glance over her shoulder and she saw a man walking at a distance behind her, but he soon stopped at a bus stop and waited.
A soft sigh escaped Selene's lips and she zipped up her jacket further to block out the cold night air. At least it was quiet out, despite the occasional passing car or barking dog in the distance.

Hel looked up, seeing the blonde hair in the darkness. She sighed softly, not making a sound. She rose and moved across the roof tops to follow the blonde haired girl, she was different, Hel could tell. It wasn't that hard when you were Hel. Her blue eye followed the other person's movements as she jumped down onto the cement behind her, a silent ghost. "Welcome to the UK," smirked the goddess, the darkness hiding the deformed part of her face. The cursed side.
(meh it's so short...i'm sorry no muse for Hely)
