Everything at the Wayne Manor went smooth for tonight since it’s Dick’s birthday party. He invited all of his friends over to have some fun and just relax, he even invited his girlfriend Barbara Gordon to the party. It’s been about a couple of months since the two made everything official about their status. Some would flip and some (even the ladies) would feel disappointed. To Dick, none of that did not matter, he felt happy about his life, now that Babs is his girl for eternity, even though they were taking things slow. Life could not get better for the adopted son of Bruce and Hailey Wayne.
Dick was at the pool as he wrapped his arm around Barbara, the two of them sitting at a table, eating pizza, some cake, and drinking some nice root beer while everyone else was having fun. Even Alfred made the pizza and put them in pizza boxes. It was boxes from other places like Pizza Hut, Domino’s, etc. Dick was impressed. He knew that Bruce and Hailey were here too, just chatting with others, and friends of Dick were playing games. “So, liking everything so far Barbara?”, he asked, taking a bite out of his pizza before downing it with his drink.

Barbara smiled, snuggled down in his arms by the pool. Her black bikini no where near revealing. Courtesy of her father. It was her boyfriend's birthday party, and of course, she was happily at his side. She had smiled at some of their old friends from the academy that were there, but she wasn't paying them much attention. She was completely focused on the man she loved reclined on the chair beside her. She had her head resting softly on her man's shoulder, perfectly comfortable and very, very happy. She shifted slightly to grab her drink, an ice cold root beer. She took a swig of it, savoring it as the cool liquid slid smoothly down her throat.
At his words, she turned her head and softly kissed his shoulder. She was comfortable, and very happy right where she was. She kissed his shoulder again softly. She enjoyed it as much as she hoped he did. "It doesn't matter. It's your birthday. But you know I'm happy as long as you're here." She grinned at him, gently pressing her lips to his shoulder once more.

“And as long as you’re happy…I’m happy too”, he said as he smiled, returning the kiss on her shoulder. Dick was wearing a white shirt including swim trunks, while Babs wore her bikini. Now there was no way that her dead would have Babs wear just her bikini, that way all the guys would look at her, whistle at Babs, and Dick would not have any of it. All the guys can just continue to stare, continue to look at Babs, maybe drooling, realizing that the fantasy will never happen. She will always be a part of Dick Grayson’s life, the only man she wants.
Taking a sip of his root beer, he swallowed before speaking. “You know…maybe after everyone leaves we could have time alone in the pool”, he suggested to her. “I mean nothing above that…just fun…”, he still suggested. Barbara didn’t know this but there were times when Grayson wanted to make love to Babs and show how much cares, passionately and physically. But they still had to take their time slowly and when that time came, it would be special between them. Grayson will make sure that comes when the time is right between them.

Babs smiled and gently snuggled into his arm, moving it around her tighter with a smile. "I'll do anything to make you happy." She smiled a little bit more and kissed his shoulder a little closer to his neck. She loved the closeness between them. She knew no one would tear them apart. She loved him. And only him. Forever. And Always.
She looked up at him with a pleasant smile. She loved the idea of just the two of them. Alone time. She leaned up and kissed his cheek. "Sounds like a magical time." She said with a playful grin, gently kissing his neck. "I don't think I would mind..." She said quietly with a small wink. The truth was, she wanted to be with him in any and all ways possible. Mental and physical. But she never wanted to say any of this to him, due to the fact that they were taking it slow and steady. She gently trailed her lips down his neck to kiss his shoulder again. "Yes. I'd love to Dick." She smiled, resting her head on his shoulder again.

“Cool, all we have to do is wait for everyone to leave and it’ll be just us”, he told her. “So for now let’s just have a good time”, he said to Babs. For the entire time, people started to leave one by one, saying goodbye to Dick, giving him his birthday presents along the way out. Dick did not want them to open them in front of everybody, he did not like it for some strange reason. Better than to open it later on when he’s in his own room but he’s going to get a special present in a bit. Once everyone left, Dick and Babs helped Alfred clean up before heading back to the pool.
Dick started taking off his shirt as he put it on the chair before looking at his lover. “Come on Babs, the fun awaits”, he said as he started to run, then jump right into the swimming pool, and he actually did a cannon ball. His mom and dad would not allow him to do that until he got older, but now he’s an adult, so he can do anything. As he came up, he looked his girlfriend and smiled. “Come on!”, he called out to Barbara. “The pool is nice and warm”, he told her, awaiting Barbara to join him. He was glad her father wasn’t here because Jim would just stare down Grayson.

Barbara smiled, and the wait began. She helped clear away the trash, and tidy up once everyone had gone. She gave Alfred a quick kiss on the cheek and thanked him for being wonderful. She had always been fond of the old butler. She helped clear away some of the presents, moving them to a place where they wouldn't be harmed by the splashing they would undoubtedly cause. She had run into the house, grabbing two towels for them, as the last guest had left over half an hour ago.
She came back to the pool, laying the towels out in the sun with a small smile. She looked up at her lover and grinned as he pulled his shirt off. She smiled and hooked her fingers under the white cover up she had been wearing. Her father had insisted. She laughed and tossed it aside, her skin visible accept for what the silky black material of her suit covered. She grinned more. "Right behind you!" She shouted happily. She smiled at his cannon ball, and ran at the water, jumping over him and diving in, swimming across the pool and popping up at the other side. "Hello handsome!" She called across to him.

Turning around, he saw Babs behind him as Dick swam up to her. When he got closer, both of his feet were on the ground, brining Babs closer by putting his arms around her, the two of them shares a nice soft kiss. He enjoyed times like these where Dick and Babs did not have to worry about someone catching them, or it being her very own father. They could talk, make out, anything to get away from life itself. “I must say Babs, you really look good in your black bikini”, he complemented as he smiled. Barbara was a stunning woman, she even has the looks of a model to be honest.
“But thanks for coming here to the party Babs. To be honest, as much as I like hanging out with our friends, I like to hang out with you more”, he told her. It was no secret that Dick was now a grown man and he couldn’t do a lot of things that he did as a child or a teenager. The man has responsibilities and has to take care of himself but not forgetting those who put him in this position. He had a lot of support and having Babs by his side was a major plus. “Just remind me when your birthday is and I will be there. We just have to be careful on what we do…you know” he told her.

Barbara put her arms gently around his neck, kissing him softly. The warm water lapping around them. Her feet didn't quite reach the bottom, and she had to hold on. Though, she didn't mind. It just gave her another reason to stay locked in her lovers embrace. She blushed a little bit at his comment, and gently kissed the side of his lips teasingly. "You don't look too bad in trunks yourself Mr. Grayson." She teased with another playful grin.
She smiled more, and turned her lips to gently kiss his collar bone. "All you have to do is ask, and I'll be there." She promised him softly. And she meant it. She would drop anything to be with him. Move mountains if she had to. She laughed softly. "I haven't done a big birthday celebration since my sweet sixteen. So it would be just me and you." She looked up into his eyes and smiled. "So, yes, extra careful." She agreed with a teasing smile.

“Glad were on the same page darling”, he said to Babs, and continue to hold her in the embrace. It was quite obvious he wanted to hold her forever and just forget about the world. Sometimes stuff like that could not happen. “You know Babs…I wish my parents were here to see this…well not me and you in the pool”, he said and joked before he chuckled a bit. “What I meant was my parents at my birthday party. You know the whole thing with them not being here”, he said to her as he sighed a bit, still holding Babs close to him. It was his parents death that he took so hard from time to time but moved on and became stronger.
“I admit that sometimes it hurts with the two of them not here. I thoughr that my parents death was just a dream but more of a nightmare…but it wasn’t a dream…it was reality”, he confessed to her. Dick wanted Zucco to pay for everything but the mobster died of a heart attack and got out the easy way. Sometimes you couldn’t get what you want in life. The one thing that Dick got was Bruce and Hailey’s love and blessing as they took him into be a better person. “But I am a better person…not just because of Bruce, Hailey, or anyone else but because of you”,he said as he kissed her softly, looking into her eyes and smiled.

"Aren't we always?" Babs smiled softly at him, glad his arms were still gently around her slender figure. She looked at him, her smile slowly fading as he mentioned his parents. And how he wished they were there. She gently kissed his cheek hugging him close to her. "Oh Dick....I'm so so sorry..." She whispered softly. She had never lost a parent. She'd come close to it, but never actually lost one. She had been abused by her mother's boyfriends, and had ran away to live with her dad, but she had never been left an orphan.
She held him softly as he spoke, letting him get it all out. She kissed his neck and shoulder softly, trying to comfort him. She didn't know what he was going through, and she wouldn't pretend that she did. No sir, she would not be that cruel. Especially to one she loved. She looked up as he said she had helped him through. "I will always be here for you..." She whispered before his lips met hers in a soft kiss. One which she returned happily. She looked softly back into his eyes.

"Thank you Barbara, it means a lot, not just to me but to the both of us", he said before kissing her softly. With her mom not being here, it took a lot on her part to run away and to be with her father. She's determine but at the same time stubborn, always getting her way. At least she still has her father around because she needed him more than anything. Of course, she loved her mom but Dick knew deep that Babs had some resentment against her. Whatever Barbara wanted to do, Dick would support her in any way.
"I knew that when we got together, we took risk. With our patrolling, there was always that chance something could happen whether it was good or bad but we can take it" ,he told her and throughout there time in the pool, the two of them just talked about whatever was on their minds. He could trade the entire world for Barbara, moving heaven and earth. It was just a matter of timing, on how they could go on with their lives to be together but he had no regrets for his choice. Dick was satisfied and content.

Barbara smiled softly, and kissed his neck gently to let him know she would be there. Always. She smiled more as she listened to him talk. To hear him say it made it sound like a fantasy, but the truth be told, it was real. Real. All hers. Dick Grayson held her heart, and he always would. Dick Grayson was the only man she would ever love again, of this, she was sure.
She enjoyed their time in the water, just talking, wrapped up in the other's arms. She smiled softly at him after they finished their latest topic. She gently kissed his lips with a soft passion and wiggled out of his arms. She swam to the stairs, and climbed out of the water. The crystal water dripped down her back from her wet hair as she grabbed her towel and wrapped it around herself. She took a seat int one of the chairs out in the sun and closed her eyes, reclining.

With all their time in the water, they couldn’t be there forever so Dick noticed Babs getting out of the pool and he decided to follow. Once she got to her chair, Dick got out of the pool as well before getting a towel by himself as he started to dry himself off. He took a chair and sat next to Barbara as he leaned back, relaxing, taking her hand and giving it a soft squeeze. Today was a good day for Dick, not only having his birthday with friends and family but also his girlfriend by his side. As a teenager, mostly his friends from the academy would just take most of his time and try to talk to him, Bruce and Hailey wouldn’t miss out on Dick’s birthday’s but having Babs brought him peace and happiness.
