Peter Parker always had a sense of responsibility. When he was bit by the radioactive spider, it was to change his life forever. Just recently was his Aunt May shot at, after Spider-Man's identity was revealed, due to the Superhuman Registration Act. Somebody hired a hitman to kill Peter Parker, and he and his Aunt May were on the run, just them two. He was scared for his Aunt, but even more scared for her life. Then it happened... The man was to shoot Peter, but he didn't, he shot Aunt May. It hit her side, and she fell to the ground before Peter. It was horrific for the young man. His mother was shot at, and now she was hospitalized. This horrified him.
Feeling horrible about this, he decided to go looking for the man who tried to murder his Aunt May. It was easy to track the hitman down, but it would be difficult to find the man who hired him. When he found the hitman, but he didn't want to give the name away, even after threatened to be dropped. Peter was so angry, he held him over the edge of the building. His anger consumed him greatly, he almost tossed him off. He squeezed the man's throat tightly, and nearly killed the man. Tossing the man onto the ground, he felt no remorse. He just wanted revenge.
Now sporting his old black suit, without the Symbiote, he began to roam the dark streets of New York to find the man who tried to get him killed, and more importantly, his Aunt. Anger consumed him, and he would almost kill if he had to. Now on a rampage, it was up to another hero or villain to stop him...

Barbara, or Batgirl as she was at the moment had seen it all. The man in the suit strangling the other man on the edge of the building...
She couldn't tell if he was dead, but it didn't matter. The other man was obviously dangerous. She ran across and jumped across a ledge and landed on the building in front of the man in the black suit. She had seen his picture somewhere before, but couldn't quite place a name...
She straightened up. "Hey, pick on someone fit to fight." She growled at him, the red hair around her head laying flat down the back of her black costume..

Peter's spider-sense tingled as he felt a figure behind him. His head snapped back as he heard a voice. What he heard was odd. Was she trying to pick a fight with him? A crease appeared on the front of his mask, indicating that he was half-smiling, half-smirking. "It's not a fight if the foe is weak," he said, rudely. He wasn't talking about her, in particular, but it could be taken that way. Poor Peter. He didn't notice how cold and dark he was getting. He couldn't quip. He couldn't joke. He couldn't even laugh. This wasn't Peter Parker, this was the Spider. He looked over at her and said, "I'm not in the mood to fight." He was, but he wasn't, if that made sense. He was willing to fight to discover who have done it, but he wasn't willing to fight a random woman that he met seconds ago.

Barbara stepped closer to him. "What is wrong with you? Seeing your picture before. The big title Hero" She said as she walked around to face him.
Her half cape flowed down her back slightly. She would of, if she had know him, extend a hand to comfort this man she didn't know. But she didn't know him now did she.
"What kind of Hero chokes a man for no reason?" She jabbed, looking at the white patches where she assumed his eyes were. (ugh short)

If this was anybody but a girl, he would've been all over them. He forced himself not to touch her, as he clenched his jaw. He coughed, due to the cold midnight air. Shaking his head, he said, "Would you consider a hit-man as a person who has done nothing?" He was angry. His fury flowed through him. Soon it would just break. Thanks to his spider-sense, his ears were ringing. It reminded him of this impending danger. He quickly dodged. "God, don't I feel horrible?" he thought to himself. He felt like his heart had holes, multiple holes. This was all on him, if his Aunt was to die, it would be his fault. Even now, he was guilty. Opening his mouth, he said, "Stop. I don't want to have to incapacitate you."

Barbara bit her lip. She had had her fair share with Hit-Men. "You didn't say it was a hit-man." She said, anger bubbling in her chest as she looked.
She remembered an encounter with one, and it made her so angry she twitched. There was a different light in the green eyes behind her mask. "You hunting down the hire?" She asked, suddenly wanting to help. Gotham, or Manhattan didn't need Hit-Men.. Ever..

Peter snicked a bit, at her. Her remark about how he didn't say it was a hit-man was odd. "Yeah, well, you didn't ask, did you?" He was getting annoyed now, thinking of her as a nuisance. Time was running out for his aunt and he wasn't going to hesitate now. "I'm trying to find out who did this," he said. "Yes, I'm trying to find whoever did it." He was being delayed slightly now, and he really had to go. He needed to be on the run. Needed two things; to save his aunt, and to get revenge. He now tapped down on the pressure pad above his wrist, letting a stream of webbing go. As he was about to leap off the building, he looked behind himself.

Barbara jumped to the edge after him. He seemed rather set. And she decided. She could help. "Tell me how to help." She said rather mater-of-factually as she got ready to pull a grappling hook from her belt.

With a grappling hook, she reminded Peter of Felicia Hardy, the Black Cat. She was there for Peter often enough, and Peter managed to convince his mind that she'd be like that, that this woman would aid him in finding who ever did it. Still feeling dark, he said, "Follow me, and don't get in my way." He was starting to get his senses back together. However, still with his grim attitude, it'd be easier for him to take down the culprit. He didn't have to hold back, he could just hurt him. Even kill, if need be. Holding onto his web, he ran off the edge of the building and noticed that he was in mid-air.

Barbara nodded and launched her hook and leaped from the building. She remembered the first few times she had done that. she had almost let go out of fear. But she had done these jumps so many times now. It wasn't hard. She just took a flying leap and followed him, having to grab the other hook from her belt.

He didn't want to face the facts. He didn't want to stop. He couldn't face the fact that his aunt was dying in the hospital, and he was out, not with her. He was trying to save her life, but he was really being selfish. At least, that's what he would've thought. He kept moving, however. The tight impact of the quick wind was bouncing off of his shoulders as he leaped from web to web. "Who could it be?" he said to himself. Several big crimelords and villains came into his mind, but only one stood out. The Kingpin. At first, he laughed in disbelief, but then realized that it may have very well been him. He made a left turn, and was on his way to Kingpin Tower.

Barbara shot out anther hook to follow him, her hands slipping slightly as the taunt cord yanked the weight of her body. Normally, that would have scared her. She never slipped... But she couldn't afford to be afraid now..Not during all of this. Not with this man she didn't know very well, but she had decided to help, and there was no backing out now. She didn't know what she had gotten herself into. She didn't know where it would lead. She just didn't know any of this...She followed him closely.

Felicia, The Black Cat, was on her own way to Kingpin's tower. She had different reasons for being there, though. She was simply there to steal from Kingpin himself, after she had finished a job for him, but didn't quite get paid for it. She knew it was probably a trap, and expected a trap. What she didn't expect was Spider-man to come swinging her way, along with someone else behind him.
Felicia did a double take. "Is that... Mary Jane Watson in some kind of Batman costume?" she said quietly to herself. She was already at the tower, already had a door unlocked, and the alarm disabled. The two were closing in, and Felicia stood in front of the doorway, her foot against the door, as if barring passage. She had the full Black Cat outfit on, the white wig, blue contacts, and the small black mask around her eyes. Spider-man seemed to be in the black outfit, which was odd. "Gone dark on me, Spider?" she said, tilting her head as they got close enough. "Into red heads again now too, huh?"

As they were zipping through the dark night's skies, Peter had though that he noticed a familiar figure. He noticed her Platinum-colored hair, and her slim body figure. Looking down at the white spider on his chest, he realized something. Peter noticed that he had put the black suit away a long time ago and that it'd send the wrong message. However, he realized that maybe he didn't destroy because someday, he knew that there'd be a time when he was to need it, and that the kid gloves were to come off. Peter would find the Kingpin, not Spider-Man, but it'd be Peter Parker.
Seeing Felicia, he didn't do anything like his normal self. All he did was nod, and said, "Aunt May." He was becoming cold, but he had to. He swore that he'd get the Kingpin. He was superior to him in every way, and Peter would both defeat AND threaten the Kingpin. Wilson Fisk was a dead man, to Peter. At times, his conscious would speak to him. Uncle Ben used to say, "So you got your revenge? You must feel pretty damn good about yourself, then, huh?" Peter couldn't accept it, because this was a well-deserved revenge. With an evil smirk, Peter quietly pushed her aside, about to simply walk right in.

"Aunt May..." she began to say, as if she expected him to finish the sentence. "Or not." she said, as she was pushed aside and Spider-man simply walked inside. "Your welcome, for the lock and all." she shrugged.
She took a look up and down at the girl who had been following Spider-man. "Did you put something in his cereal?" she asked, though barely left time for a response as she was in the building, following Spider-man. She watched him striding through the building, already being more than a little worried for him. If it wasn't for the Aunt May comment, she might wonder if it was Peter at all. "The suit I got you fits well, at least." she said, catching up to him. "Should have told me you were wearing it. I'd have changed so we don't match."
