Eden had been doing a lot of thinking lately, she was far from a perfect person. She had a lot of baggage and was single because of it. No one wanted a woman like her, with her gun skills. Her ability to be like a chameleon and blend into the background. And most of all the nightmares she has and doesn't trust anyone, though through all this. She did have only one true friend out in the world, he was a man that many people knew. Some feared, a lot respected him and of course she was one of them.
Meeting him at such a young age left an impression, he believed in her when her parents were just trying to raise her right. She had the ability to learn so many wonderful things, she knew so many languages. It was a hobby of hers, and she wanted to do some good. And as of right now she just didn't know anything, so with her hands in her pockets. And a hidden side arm where she could get to it, she walked to a nice little coffee shop called Tully's. When she got in she ordered a cappuccino.
But when she turned around she saw the back of a black mans bald head, and a black strap. Thinking for a moment as she slowly began to remember people from the past, when she opened up her eyes she realized that it might be Nick Fury. She hadn't seen him in so many years, so biting her lip she decided to go ahead and do it. So she turned a bit so she could look at her face, and a bright smile could be seen on her youthful face. Her Blue eyes looking at him and grinned.
"Well I'll be damned, I never thought I would see you again" She said happily.

The Director of SHIELD, Nick Fury sat at a table with a cup of hot coco in his hands. Taking a sip of it, he swallowed before sighing, looking out at the window as people go on with there lives.Nick would go here to Tully's everyday to take a break from his duties, leading the baddest organization on the planet. It was times like these that Nick could just focus and move forward with his life. The battle in Manhattan, took a toll on the city but life was getting back to normal for everyone. Danger would come again and The Avengers will be there to answer the call, saving the world once again.
Then Nick heard a familiar voice, one who thought he would never hear again. He turned his head and saw Eden as he smiled. "And I never imagine seeing someone like you for years" he said as he stood up and pulled out a chair for her. "Come on in and join me. I want to hear everything you've been up to all this time" he said. He knew Eden at a young age, seeing potential in this young lady and regretted not seeing her enough. That's why he would send letters and notes to check up on Eden but looking at her now, she's grown so much.

Eden remembered everything about him, well everything that she knew any way. The man was mysterious and she really thought it was a very interesting trait to have. She was very happy that he seemed so happy to see her, something about him made her care. He was a good man, rather people saw that or not. Much like the hulk, people see monsters when they don't have the ability to be clear minded. Eden cares for Nick because even though he didn't see her ever, he still wrote to her and she kept all his letters happily.
When he offered her a seat she sat down when he pulled it out for her, and looked at him kindly. "Well I think last time you saw me I was what five or six? By the time you met me I Knew two languages but now I know close to fifteen. Been doing weapons training, stealth training. Basically I am a chameleon because let's face it Nick. Our world is a damn deadly one. People see monsters in every corner, though I am a bit more open minded. Even for my youth people don't want to screw with me" She chuckled.
Reaching out she placed her hand on his and smiled "It's good to see you again though, since you keep your office out of the phone book" She said making a small joke. "Has been hard to find you, and I have to say Nick you look great. You haven't aged a day, I guess all these years I try to impress you. Your the only person I have in my life. Since I find it hard to trust people, but you I trust. And those who work for you, even though Ive never met them I would trust them as well"

Eden was just a girl who wanted more, she was hungry and motivated. Nick saw that in her and knew she was destined for to be something one day. It reminded Fury of him when he was a child, taking part in WWII was the right choice, no matter the sacrifice. From that day on, life changed for the man, and now as a director of SHIELD, he did not regret anything. Taking a sip of coco, he looked at Hailey and nodded his head. “You can trust me Eden” Fury told her. “And you can trust in SHIELD too but you can trust The Avengers Initiative which you may or may not have heard of “ he said to Eden.
“It’s a group of heroes like Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor and so on, they fight the battles that you and me could never go up against” he explained to Eden before continuing. “But if you’re going to make it Eden you got a lot of work to do” he said to her. For someone her age, she had a long life to live and more decisions to make. One day it would come down to her to even save the world herself, but she couldn’t do it alone. “If you want to be in the likes of Captain America, Iron Man and the rest then you have to work your way up the mountain top because it won’t be easy.

Eden listened to him and sat back thinking, she had heard of what he spoke of. She had seen Thor and Hulk from a distance, looking down she didn't know what to say. Her Grey eyes pierced the darkness, cat like as she slowly decided on what to do. She always saw things with innocent eyes, though she didn't know what to do. She didn't even realize it but she had the knife from the table doing some strange things with it, showing she was lethal in a knife battle. And then she stopped as she decided.
"I trust you Nick and what you stand for, I have seen some that work for you from a distance. Some would say I am perfect but I am far from, I would be honored to join you and to work my way up the mountain. But I do not know what I could do. I mean you have people with powers working for you, I mean maybe seeing me in action I would have a purpose I just don't know. But Ive hidden myself away from the world since my parents died on me, so Nick Fury I will join"

"You don't have to worry about hiding anymore Eden. You're here and you came to the right person, you'll do just fine" he told with a smile, giving the young lady confidence. Since seeing her for the first time, Fury though she was just crazy at her age of six, trying to stop a fight in Russia, but as soon as they talked, Nick got a better understanding of her. She's been through a lot of Fury wished he could of been there more. Screw the letters and notes, what matters is face to face, to help Eden, take him under his wing.
"So now that you've joined here's what's going to happen. I don't have it right now but i'll give you a sleek folder containing a application of SHIELD. We just started a new program as we take in younger applicants" he explained then coming in the next part. "I don't want you to think this is some kiddie club you have to babysit or even take care of because there is no such thing as kiddie and SHIELD in the same sentence" Fury said as he chuckled a bit. The thought of Fury babysitting was impossible and would never happen, Fury did not have time for this.

Eden listened to Nick and smiled at him and enjoyed what he said to her, he was really something else. He made her want to keep smiling really, it was a remarkable moment between them. Thinking about it for a moment, she sipped her coffee and looked out the window, closing her eyes as she heard the echo's of her parents last words to her. Her soul had been tortured for years, and wondered if it would ever stop. Closing her eyes as she grasped the pendent around her neck. She could make a difference that much she knew.
"I know you want more for me Nick, I know you wanted to see me in person. But your letter's kept me alive, kept me going. My pain and anger I use, but I was taught to never fight with just your sight. You have to feel the enemy around you, determine his or her next move. Though my heart maybe wounded by my family's death, my body and mind are in top condition." She opened up her eyes. "Battle is like Chess and each of your people represent the pieces and me I am the pawn for now. But will work my way up to the queen" she reached over taking his hand.

“Well get ready because it’s going to get more tougher “ he said to Eden. “I’m just glad you’re here in one piece kiddo. I know I haven’t been there for you in the past and I wish I did but times have changed. With me leading SHIELD it’ll be more tougher but I will try and help you to the best of my ability” he promised her. It was something about this young girl that made Nick smile, something that no one could do, except for Eden AND Amelia. They wanted Nick to be a better person and that’s what he got everyday out of it. He was a man to be taken seriously but some people didn’t like Eden and Amelia.

She smiled some and thought for a second "Well life has never been easy for me, I don't expect life to be easy either. Since life never stops, and pain never stops. But I am not worried about it in the least" She said and smiled even more seeing him smile. His smile was very sweet, and was glad she made him smile. Finishing up her coffee she could tell it was about to get nasty weather out. Which was her favorite kind of weather, taking a deep breath she looked back at Nick and wondered something, what next?
"Well...Boss where do we begin?" She said with a smile.

Finishing up his hot coco drink, Fury crumpled the cup and threw it in the trash can successfully. Then he looked at Eden before speaking. “How about you and me head out and I can show you around SHIELD? You won’t regret it Eden” he said, asked and suggested. She had a long way to go, but the man saw her in action during one moment in life he’ll never forget. If her parents were still alive they would reject her coming to Nick and paint Fury as dangerous or unfit to look after Eden. Nick would understand because they are her parents and have a right to protect Eden.
Fury stood up and looked at Eden. “You ready?” he asked. “And don’t worry, let me pay for everything”

Eden was surprised by what he said about paying for it, so she nodded to him and tossed her cup behind herself and it hit the trash can, smiling a bit she had a great sense of what was around her. She headed outside and looked up at the sky, her grey eyes were full of life when she was out and about. Looking over at Nick she was happy to have done this. She knew it was going to be an adjustment, but if she was going to be around friends then it was all good, she was done with being alone.
"I'm Ready" She said happily.
