A dark figure sat alone on a roof, a cape billowing slightly in the wind. Night had fallen, casting long shadows over the streets as the rain fell and thunder rumbled...Perfect conditions for crime.
The Huntress sat there, her head bowed, letting the rain run down her face and drop to the street below. She didn't mind the rain at all, in fact she somewhat enjoyed it. The icy blue and gray eyes opened once more, quickly scanning the streets of Gotham for any criminals or suspicious activity. She had to be alert or one might slip from her grasp. Of course, she could always track them down again, but that would take too much time...
She had devoted her life to stopping the mafia and crimes after what had happened to her own family. The memory still made her blood boil, even though she had gotten her revenge. It had been years, and she still wasn't fully at peace. Why had she been the only one spared?... She could be dead right now. Helena shook her head, forcing herself to focus again. That was the past and she had to focus on the task at hand now. Once more, she gave Gotham her full attention.
There...
Someone was slinking out of a shop, in hopes of getting away unnoticed. Her eyes narrowed in an instant and she slowly rose to move across the rooftops unnoticed. "Sorry, not today, buddy." She growled under her breath and dropped from the roof to quietly land below, not too far from the figure. A gloved hand moved to her utility belt and she took off a small silver cylinder that extended out into a staff, before moving forward...Like a predator hunting it's prey.

----------JAMES WAYNE---------- Could you believe it? James Thomas Wayne, son and successor of Bruce "Batman" Wayne stealing! What a surprise! But then James was nothing like his father. He was as far from it as one could get, without being a villain. He wasn't stealing much, only a small crystalline snowflake on a sterling silver chain, normally about thirty dollars, the kind of money James didn't have.
But exactly what had led him to steal the charm and not politely ask his parents for the money? Please! This is James Wayne, bi-polar and often out of control, not Alexander Wayne, the good-two-shoes one. Oh no, James and Alex were as different as Yin and Yang, but looked a hell of a lot difference too. While James had the deepest black hair that you could have, Alex's was a simple blonde. Alex had their father's dark brown eyes. while James's eyes were a strange icy cobalt blue.
And so James stole it for his girlfriend, and future wife, Alyss Blake. Little did he know he was being watched by a fellow member of the Justice League, a group both his father and Alyss's father, John Blake, were a part of. Word would get round to Batman quite quickly that his son had stolen.

Helena caught a glimpse of the young man that had just left the shop. She knew those facial features, and the faint glint of something signaled that he had indeed taken something from that shop. Something that did not belong to him.
It was James Wayne, the son of her closest friend, Bruce Wayne and his wife Haliey. Quite frankly, she was a little surprised to see James out here. Stealing. What would Bruce say about this when he found out what she had just seen. The jet black haired woman shook her head, knowing she had to confront James about what he had been doing in that shop...
Perhaps it was nothing. He couldn't have possibly stolen. Could he?... 'No.' She told herself knowing the truth in her gut. She had to say something. Quietly following James a few more yards, she slowed to a stop and broke the silence of the dark street. "James." Bertinelli started, the only sound that followed her voice was the loud rumble of thunder in the sky and the faint splash of raindrops falling the the street, continuing to drench Helena. The droplets rolled down her cape, streaked down her face and arms to drop and shatter the reflections in the puddles below. Her gaze stayed focused on James, her eyes the color of the stone gray-ish blue clouded sky.

----------JAMES WAYNE---------- When he heard the voice, James whirled around, a smirk hovering on his lips. "Good evening, Helena." He said, his voice even and steady. Lightning struck through the sky and his pale eyes glowed in the light, making him have a sinister look to him.
He wasn't afraid of her. He knew he could easily loose control. He teetered on a fine wire between loosing control and having control. He was as unsteady and unpredictable as a crackling fire. Any little thing could make him snap, just the slightest toe out of line would slam him into a turmoil of unpredictable rage, causing chaos with every step.
The ran plastered his hair to his face and the droplets rolled down his face like crystalline tears. Alyss didn't know, but he had lost control so many times, even after he told her she was what caused him to stay in control. That was a lie. When he was alone, or just with Alex, he would spiral out of control and he would have to run for the syringe that injected his body with a serum that calmed him. But he was never truly calm, oh no. Calm was just a dream that he would never be able to reach.
Never.

Helena watching him, seeing the smirk that lightly touched his face. Here in the dim lighting of the streetlights and the flashes of lightning he seemed to look almost sinister to her. Her eyes narrowed ever so slightly and she kept her usual calm demeanor resting the butt of her staff on the sidewalk and she leisurely leaned against it, her gaze locked on James. "So..." She started,"What are you doing out in this weather? You know, you might catch a cold."
She was giving him a chance to admit his wrong doing; to confess. Helena also knew he needed to be careful of what she said and how her tone of voice was as right now she knew she was treading on thin ice, and at any moment it could crack. The Huntress knew any little thing could set James over the edge and send him completely out of control. If she was nervous or afraid at all, she hid it well, the same alert yet impassive look on her beautiful features. There was another loud clap of thunder and lightning streaked across the cold gray sky and the street light above them flickered slightly.

----------JAMES WAYNE---------- James smirked at her, leaning nonchalantly against the wall. "Stop being nice, Helena, I know what I did, I know I stole, what are you going to do about it?" The lightning flashed in, his eyes lighting up dangerously. "You know you can't win against me." He smirked at her, the sinisterness of his smirk never leaving.
He waved the charm in front of her. "You know very well I could kill you, don't you Helena?" He tucked the charm back into his pocket, smiling dangerously at her.
(kinda short, sorry!)

"Knock It Off James" That voice belonged to one person and one person only, Dick Grayson aka Nightwing, wearing his trademark attire. He didn't follow Helena or anything, he was just minding his business, doing his regular patrolling of the city.He even noticed James coming out of the pawn shop with something in his hand. James was stealing as Dick shook his head. What's the purpose for James doing this? Was he being blackmailed or doing it for someone? He was going to stop him until Helena showed up and decided to stay back and see what would happen between the two, if it got out of hand then Grayson would definitely show up just in the nick of time and thank god he did. James was like a little brother to him ever since Bruce adopted Dick in the Wayne Family. Bruce would be so mad when he heard about this but maybe Dick could try and persuade his 'brother' from stealing. Walking up to the two of them, he looked at Helena and smiled, a very good friend and confidant member of the Justice League. "Pleasure to see you Huntress" , said Dick as he smiled at her before turning to James and frowned. "And you", he said to James. "Don't think for one second that I or even Helena know what you're up to...little brother", he told him. There was no way for James to BS or run away from this one. When Bruce and Hailey took Dick in his own home, they BOTH taught him right from wrong. They taught him that everything in this world is not perfect but it also came with a price. Bruce trained him and made Dick his own hero, Nightwing. What James was doing did not make him a hero, more kind of like a thief to be honest. "James look...listen I have no idea why you're doing this but deep down you know it's not cool. I mean what good is going to come out it? And most importantly, who are you doing it for?" , he said and asked James. Hopefully this can get through to the young man's stubborn head. Heck, even Dick's parents, god bless their souls would not appreciate this if it was from their OWN son. Dick crossed his arms and waited for his brother's explanation.

"Try to get you to stop."Helena responded, crossing her arms, her gaze still on James and she kept her distance from him, not wanting to provoke him. Right now, being attacked and fighting with James Wayne was the last thing she needed. "Trust me, James, you don't want to get yourself caught up in stuff like this. Don't make a bad name for yourself..."The woman listened to him and when he said that he could beat her and probably kill her she simply shrugged in response. It probably was likely about both, but she did have a few tricks up her sleeves. As time passed it seemed more like James was going to attack her so she started to come up with plans to get out of this mess if things got too out of hand, which she was hoping wouldn't happen. "Maybe, maybe not. I don't suggest trying it out either, James."The Huntress warned him, her blue-ish grey gaze cool.
Hearing the familiar voice of Dick Grayson, Helena smiled slightly yo herself. 'Just in the nick of time...' She thought to herself, turning her head to look at her friend and fellow Justice League member, whom she hadn't seen in quite a while now. "Hello there, Stranger."She smiled,"It's good to see you too, Nightwing." After a moment, she turned her attention back to James and Dick spoke to him. Hopefully they could steer James onto the right track for tonight at least.

James rolled his eyes, rocking back on his heels. "Please," he snorted, "Save me a lecture, I'll get plenty when I get home." He nonchalantly rolled his eyes once more, "Really Helena, do you think I care about creating a bad name for myself?" He smirked at her when she said she didn't think he should try anything, "Why not? I know exactly what you fear, how to hurt you." At the arrival of Nightwing he said, "Both of you."
James laughed sinisterly, "Why the hell should it matter why or for whom I'm doing this for? I'm still doing it."

Dick chuckled and laughed at James a bit. He was sounding like a smart ass and rotten spoiled brat, but it must come with the Wayne genes. Sometimes James pretended to be the so called king of the world at times. He just didn't get it through that thick skull of his, as Grayson sighed before speaking. "There you go again James. I swear sometiems you are so full of it these days, always making a situation even more worse. It doesn't matter if you're bi-polar or not, what you're doing right now is setting a bad example"[/color, he said to him. He could remember one time as a child, he was grounded for something and no matter how he tried to get out of it, it didn't work. His father told Dick that it didn't go like that from time to time, Grayson could not get off Scott free.
"But understand one thing: You try and hurt Helena, then you get to deal with me" Nightwing told James as he looked at him dead in the eyes. "All that stuff you said to her didn't prove anything about you. I mean yes, you do know us well but not quite enough", he told the cocky little boy in front of him. If there was one thing Dick could not stand, it was know at all, and guys like James were young and had a lot to learn about life. Nightwing could not see James becoming the next Robin or hero acting like this, not even Bruce and Hailey would allow it to happen unless someone could help. "How do you think everyone else would react? Your mom, your dad....Alyssa", ok, not that's something he could not have said, but it's something to sink into James.
"Yes I said it James. Let's just return this and get you home so that you're parents don't get POed" he told him. "Don't even think about fighting us because it will not solve anything" he said
