It was a very cold night in Bludhaven and most people would stay in doors or not go outside until the weather cooled off. For Nightwing, the weather did not bother him from his regular patrolling that he does everything. Bruce taught Dick and the rest of his allies/siblings that no matter what type of condition it is out there, you do not show fear or resistance, and to not hold back. When Dick would go out with Bruce, if it was rainning, it didn’t bother his adoptive father. He stood strong and watched over Gotham, just like Dick is doing now as he stands on the rooftop of a building, watching the city and everyone in it. Suddenly, Nightwing heard an explosion coming far away where he stood. Quickly taking out his binoculars, he looked around before seeing where it took place.
He found the location and it was near the docks. Nightwing took out his grappling gun and fired it to the next object before he jumped with his ability to the next and all the way until he reached the docks. Dick wondered who could cause something like this in Bludhaven. Maybe it was a high powered villain or just a criminal who wasn’t alone. As Dick reached the docks and landed, he raced to where the explosion was, seeing it was from a warehouse. Nightwing saw people running out of there with stuff from the warehouse and he just shook his head. “These guys never change now do they?”, he asked as he threw a Batarang right at one of those who were stealing from the warehouse, getting the others attention. Nightwing lets them know that he is here and will stop them.

Cold nights, something that Tim had an intense dislike of at times: his mother’s funeral had been a cold night, and his fathers had been even colder. Plus, Bludhaven was full of more criminals then Gotham. This made him hate the city, even though Dick had come here and was now living here. Pulling up the cowl, he slammed his palm into the Red Robin symbol on his harness, and the stealth-tech went into effect. His costume colours changed from red and black to black and grey, but even in this different coloured costume, he was the Red Robin. Running across the rooftops, he needed to meet up with Dick soon in case something was about to go down. As he was running, he heard an explosion to the left. Turning to it, he took off in the direction of the explosion: an explosion was something he’d deal with.
Arriving at the docks, he saw that Dick was already here and had gone into action. Spreading the wings of the cape, he flew towards his adopted brother. Landing beside him, he cracked his head and said in his gravelly, Red Robin voice “Nope, they never do.” Pulling out two throwing discs, he hurled them at two of the guys. As soon as this was done, and they realized it wasn’t just Nightwing, but Red Robin that would stop then, he withdrew his collapsed Bo-Staff. Shaking it, he twirled it about his head and held it in front of him, showing them that if they tried anything, he definitely would stop them. “Good to see you Nightwing. Ready for some action?!” This showed the ruthlessness he had developed, but also his more serious outlook on his heroics.

Dick heard the voice of his adoptive brother Tim and smiled, knowing he was not alone in it. “You know it!”, he answered back before all these idiots who caused the damage were coming right at Nightwing and Red Robin. Dick took out his Eskrima Sticks out of his holster ready for combat and take down these fools. “It’s Batman and Robin!”, one of them called out and that made Dick groan. Was is it that people think he’s Batman or something like that? It did not matter as Nightwing sprung into action as one of them went right in for a punch before Dick dogged before striking him with one of the sticks plus a swift kick, taking the guy down before going after the next two. They want to double team him in an effort that two against one is easy….well…Nightwing welcomes it. He always loved the challenge of something like this
The first thing they did was try to double clothes him and with Dick, he used his agility as he jumped up high avoiding them. Landing behind them, he grabbed both of there heads and slammed them together as the two of them were down and out. “Courtesy of Nightwing”, he told them both as Dick looks down before striking one of his Eskrima sticks behind another one of them who were trying to catch Dick off guard. A wrong mistake on his part because heroes weren’t like that to get distracted. Grabbing the guys arm he slammed him down before striking him again with another one of his sticks. Dick looks at Tim to see how he is holding up. If he needed help then Nightwing would just stay back and let Red Robin do his thing unless more trouble showed up.

A groan escaped his lips when one of these guys called out that it was Batman and Robin. Why would they think they were Batman and Robin? The fact his costume was black and grey, and he was wearing a cowl right now? Or was it Nightwing’s costume? Well, either way, they would show that these two heroes were not the Dark Knight and Boy Wonder: they were Nightwing and Red Robin, the former apprentices of Batman. And now that they had stepped out of his shadow, they were going to show these thugs that mistaking them for Batman and Robin was a big mistake. As the first one ran at him, he slammed his Bo-Staff into the guy’s solar plexus and then slammed it into his legs, bringing him to the ground. Before the guy behind him could react, Tim disabled him by slamming his Bo into the guy’s head, hitting him in the temple with enough force to knocking him out.
Two of the guys had hand-guns, and were beginning to take shots at him. Dodging to the side, he pulled out a Red Robin throwing disc and primed the explosion so that it would go off when it hit the ground behind them. Hurling it, he was jolted by the explosion, as were the men. The Bo-staff left his hand, but he could deal with these guys using his hands, even if he wasn’t the best martial artist around. Grabbing one by the throat, he slammed his fist into the guy’s windpipe and then threw him to the ground. The other one was taken down just as easily, through a rear naked choke hold. Turning to another thug, which could easily be the last one if they were lucky; he cracked his neck and punched the thug in the solar plexus, and then head butted him.

With Nightwing watching on he could sense someone else behind him. Turning around quickly, he saw another one of these guys and this time with a riffle in his hands pointing it at him. “Really? You’re going to use that…THAT against me dude? That’s lame”, he told him. When Bruce gave him his first test, he went straight to Zucco and wanted to put him out of business by taking a gun and killing him. But The Dark Knight stepped in and convinced Grayson that it was not the right thing to do. He was right and Dick dropped the weapon before Zucco died of a heart attack. That moment taught him that he would never go down that road Bruce almost went to because if he did, then he would not be Nightwing, he wouldn’t have gotten the opportunities growing up.
“Put it down. You don’t want no one to get hurt now do you?”, he asked as the guy kept the riffle pointed right at him, showing no fear in his eyes. Nightwing could see that but in all honesty, he can just see a coward and others just like him to use a weapon like that, or a gun, etc. It didn’t make the guy the bigger person, only someone who’s weak and can’t defend himself. Nightwing could see the trigger starting to press by the man’s finger and now the guy makes a mistake like this. Quickly, Nightwing pulls out his batarang and hits it right in the riffle just as the shot went off. As it did, the guys hands starting before he came right at Dick….right into Nightwing’s trap rather. Dick grabbed the guy and did a Spinebuster and the guy was out like a light.

Guns were the things they had been trained to despise, and that was something Tim agreed with: A gun had taken the life of his mother, and had been used to try and kill him a number of times in the past. Looking around, one of the thugs was aiming a semi-automatic pistol at his chest. Considering his costume was quite resistant to bullets, he just chuckled at the thug: he wasn’t afraid. He’d been doing this for so long that he had become hardened to the possibility of death: he could hide it quite well, even if he was terrified of the possibility of dying at times. The thug took the shot, firing four bullets towards his chest. Dodging the bullets, which grazed his arm, Tim growled in pain a bit like an animal would when they were wounded or in pain. Standing up, he ran right for the guy with the pistol, pulling out another throwing disc to use.
Throwing it at the guy’s hand, he ran right at him and leapt through the air, sending his knee flying towards this guy’s face. It made contact, and Tim landed on his feet easily, like a cat would. Punching this guy right between the eyes, this knocked him out with little to not damage. Looking at Nightwing, he asked the questioned “Think that is us done for now?” He really hoped this would be the end of it for now: yes, he was competent in fighting, but that didn’t mean he would like to fight every single day and moment of his hero career. There was more to it than that, such as the intellectual part. And it was the intellectual part that he excelled in, even if he’d become capable in the physical parts in the last few years.

Red Robin asked him the question if this was finished for now. All Dick could do was look around and see, who knows? Maybe some guy could pop out of nowhere or a group of them but so far Dick could not sense anyone else around. He looked at Tim and shook his head, answering no. "Nah, I think that's the last of them", he said as he saw the bodies laid out on the ground. A lot of these guys have a lot to answer for when the police get here. Everyone one of them had their own motive or maybe the group had different intentions. Though Nightwing did not care, they broke the law, they did the crime and do the time. He walked up to Red Robin and placed his hand on shoulder before he smiled.
"But hey thanks man for the help. It's not everyday when something like this happen but it's always good to know that I am not alone", he said to Tim. Bruce never said the words Thank you for some odd reason. Whether it was not to show a sign of emotion or something else, some found it rude but hey, there was nothing that could make Batman happy despite Hailey and his children. Behind the mask, every hero has their own life as a normal person. They have to deal with their own personal problems and so did Dick. Nightwing looked around and saw a perfect place for the two of them. "How about we catch up? Just you and me?", he asked her.

Looking around, Tim pressed his fist into the Red Robin symbol on his chest, and his costume shifted back to its red and black coloration, making it more recognizable than it had been in his Stealth-Tech form. The Red Robin was meant to be red and black, not really grey and black. But it wasn’t that he had wanted people to know him by certain costume colorations: he wanted them to know him for his skills, the things he used in lieu of superpowers because he was a normal human. His weapons, abilities and suit were what made him the hero he was, but it was also his personality. He strove to let people see the good within him, not the ruthlessness and anger he had developed: not the side that was quite similar to Jason Todd…..the Red Hood.
“Good. I’m sick of thugs trying to kill us for a while now .” There was a bit of humour in his voice, but not much. He looked at Dick, and gave him a small smile. “You’re welcome, and I’m glad I could help. There are times when we are alone, but right now is not one of them. We’ve got each other, in times of great need.” His hand had risen to Dick’s, and he just gave his adoptive older brother a reassuring squeeze. When Dick said they should catch up, all he did was nod. “It should be good to catch up.”

“Alright, just follow me”, Dick told him as he took out his grapple and found a perfect place. The sound of the grapple gun went off and hit the target as Nightwing went up in the air, going from building to building passing through many streets, buildings, companies. Before they could depart the scene, the sounds of sirens went off as police came into the scene of the crime, seeing the ones responsible but knowing Nightwing and his “friends” have already took care of business, letting the law enforcement of Bludhaven take care of everything else…like finding these guys some jail cells behind bars. Nightwing and Red Robin needed a break from this and be themselves.
Couple of minutes passed and the two of them reached the Blüdhaven Natural History Museum. As Nightwing lands on the top of the building, he puts away the grapple and looks at Tim. “So how’s everything been for you?”, he asked Red Robin. At least the two of them can at least talk about their normal selves and no one could hear them. This place was good for Nightwing because he can just be himself and get some quiet time to himself, just to think about everything. Dick looked up to the dark skies before he heard Tim’s voice.

Nodding when Dick told him to follow him, Tim watched as the older bat-family member grappled up onto a building. Following his lead, he pulled out his grapple and fired it at the same building that Nightwing had. The police were arriving on the scene, and he wasn’t sure if they liked vigilantes and heroes or not. Either way, it was better if they got out of there before they were arrested as well. Following Dick from rooftop to rooftop, he looked around and noted how he didn’t really like Bludhaven. He’d relocated here for a while, before returning to Gotham, but he had never gotten use to this city.
When they landed on the building, Tim put his grapple away and rubbed his hands together. Dick’s question didn’t catch him off guard or anything, as they hadn’t talked in a while so they would want to update each other on the things that had happened. “Everything’s been alright, just dealing with some things. You?” His voice had gone from the usual voice he used as Red Robin back to his normal voice, but it was just for now while they weren’t around anyone and were not being watched. Because this made it easier for them to talk as civilians, even if they were dressed in their costumes.

Dick nods his head after Tim’s response. “That’s good. I’ve been doing alright lately, just doing the usual with patrolling and spending some time with Barbara”, Dick said before he smirked a little at the last part. Lately Dick and Barbara were hanging out and talking, just being open and honest about everything. Dick would never let anything happen to Barbara, whether anyone doubted him or even judged him on that. Though every time that he got to spend with Babs, it was like Jim Gordon was watching their every move. Dick couldn’t see it all the time but he knew the old man was watching. Grayson wondered if Tim was with someone, maybe a love interest? He wouldn’t ask him because it’s none of his business, though one like Dick had to wonder. Knowing Tim for so long, he didn’t care about a lover interest when it came to patrolling because he was always serious and not getting distracted at all. Tim though was young and has a long way to go. Dick will be there by his side no matter what, but he wanted to see Tim happy with a beautiful woman. He had enough pain and suffering when his parents were gone so now he needs something better.
