Helena walked over to the counter and smiled to the cashier before ordering a carmel iced coffee and a blueberry muffin. She hadn't had one in a while now and it did sound really good. After waiting a few minutes for her coffee, she stood leaning against the counter, looking around the small cafe. There were couples mingling, friends talking and laughing, people studying, and people reading. It was a nice little place and it looked the same as it had a few years ago when she had last visited. It was better this time though since she was on the right path and she had a close friend with her to spend time with.
Her order came and she smiled again, thanking the woman in Italian who had taken their orders before wishing her a good rest of the day. She looked to to Alan and smiled once more,"Thank you. So Mister, are you ready to go see the rest of Italy?" She asked, looking up at him before before moving toward the door and opening it. "Are there any sights you want to see?"

After a couple of minutes, AJ and Helena got their orders and AJ heard The Huntress question. What now? Where do they go from here? AJ thought about it and knew that Italy is a great place to be at. There’s so many attractions that Italy offers, there’s the one tower in Rome that his father AJ showed him when the two of them were saving people from Sinestro. It was one of the times they got to spend time together and Alan would show AJ the locations where Alan Sr. saved lives. He still talks to his dad but not just every day. Still his father was a hero to everyone that knew him and for AJ, he had a long way to go. No one knew who he was except for Alan Scott Jr as journalist for the GCB, the son of Alan Scott Senior. Right then and there AJ knew what he wanted to see. Helena held the door open for AJ as he looked at The Huntress before speaking. “You know…there is the Colosseum, the most famous structured and largest building of the Roman Empire, let’s go there”, he said to Helena as he smiled a bit before the two went to their next destination. Where this would lead to was unknown but AJ will tell Helena how he feels. He just didn’t know her reaction but he knew that The Huntress is feeling the same thing since they first met. |

Helena stepped out onto the sidewalk and took a sip of her coffee as she did so. It was just as good as she remembered. Smiling at what Alan said he walked to go see and knowing exactly where it was at, she walked down the sidewalk, staying at AJ's shoulder. "I haven't been to the Colosseum in a long time. This will be fun, especially now that I'm not alone."Helena looked over at him with a smile before looking to the sidewalk ahead once more. Her heart picked up pace a bit with excitement as well as happiness. Something she hadn't felt in a long time. Being with Alan always seemed to cheer her up and anyone could see the change in Helena as well as the Huntress. She just felt at ease with him and she honestly trusted him with her life, something Helena wasn't known to do. Trust.
As the great Colosseum came into view Helena looked up at the great structure, admiring it. She never got old with Italy's sights and historical monuments. They were spectacular things to see, and they were beautiful as well. "Wow." Was the only thing that escaped her mouth. She tucked her black bangs behind her ear and took another sip of her coffee. "Beautiful, isn't it?" |

Reaching the Colosseum, AJ took a sip of his coffee before he saw the famous building. It was breathtaking and monumental. This is where warriors in the old age fought till the bloody death, showing no fear or intimidation against any opponent he or she was facing. AJ looked at Helena before he answered The Huntress. “Yep…it’s amazing Helena. My dad use to take me here once…well…it wasn’t for anything normal. Let’s just say that we had to take care of something…but after that he took me to this so this is not my first time in the Colosseum”, he explained to the Huntress. He saw the building’s structure and sculpture as well. It took the people who created this, more time and hard work than ever and AJ would not blame them because they want this to turn out perfect. “I could never imagine what life was like back then when this was made. I would never had come up with something like this because it would be impossible to make and take a lot of time. The green ring would make the same structure like The Colosseum but that would be too easy”, he said to Helena as the two of them continued to look around. The green ring of the Green Lanterns was designed to protect and defend against the likes of any other different lanterns and evil. The ring is not used for some kind of toy but sometimes the new lanterns don’t know when to stop. When AJ first started out, he used the ring to do stupid things at times. He learned better thanks to his father Alan Sr, and if it wasn’t for him, AJ would not be a Green Lantern. |

Helena looked to Alan and nodded as he spoke about coming here once with his father, and understood what he meant. She had been to Italy a few times before but had only ever seen the Colosseum from a distance. Of course, the previous times she had been here had been when things weren't good for her. She was either settling...unfinished business, or simply didn't have the patience to be around so many people, waiting. That thought made her glad that she had been pulled from the darkness that had almost devoured her. She blinked and pulled her attention back to Alan as his voice broke her thoughts.
"I know, I don't think I could imagine what life was like back then either. It obviously took a long time to build this, and a lot to people to construct it as well." She looked at the tall structure, just thinking as they looked around. It was a long fall and she didn't want to think of how many people must have died while building it and during the fights that had happened from within. She then remembered the coffee cup in her hands and drank the rest of it. It was really nice out today, the sun was out, the sky was clear, and to make things even better she was with Alan. Honestly, she wouldn't pick anyone else to be with right now.

 The Coliseum was a beautiful view but not beautiful as The Huntress. She was breathtaking as Alan took a sip of his coffee before listening to her. He didn’t care what she said but just listened to Helena speak, heck, the man would take her over anything or anyone. In his life he had everyone, his father, his siblings, minus his mother but he does have his own allies in the Justice League, so he wasn’t alone. Then there is Helena but what is she to him? A friend? No, more than a friend, someone who he has feeling for and wants a relationship. Now is a good time to do it as Alan finished his coffee before throwing it in the garbage can next to him, then he looked at Helena before speaking. “Helena…can I tell you something?”, he asked The Huntress.
“I know that maybe I shouldn’t be saying this but I have something to confess…Helena…I have feelings for you”, he said as he looked at her straight in the eyes. “Yeah…I do…I always have feelings for you Helena since we first met in the Justice League. I find you as the most beautiful…and attractive women in the group. You’ve been through so much in your life, it was you that overcame the death of your parents, and I sometimes wonder…how could I do that when my mother died? You have shown me that you can conquer anything that comes in your way”, he told The Huntress before he went any further. “I know you have feelings for me too Helena…and don’t deny it”, he said to the Helena, just wanting her to be honest and not shut him out. |

Helena's stormy gray gaze turned to Alan as he asked if he could tell her something. "Sure,"She replied with a small smile,"You can tell me anything, Alan." She watched and listened to him intently as he said he had a confession. That confession was that he had feelings for her. Helena was relieved and happy at the same time, as she had been worried that he might not feel for her the way she did for him. They all melted away instantly as man she'd liked for so long spoke to her.
She smiled and looked down at the ground as he went on to tell her that she was beautiful and the most attractive woman in their group of superheroes. How could she deny her feelings and shut him out? She had done it before to other men, but she could never do that to Alan. Never. "I have feelings for you as well Alan. I have from the first day I joined the Justice League and got to meet you. I wanted to tell you this sooner, but I guess I was afraid of rejection."Her gaze lifted to Alan's handsome face before she continued,"I could never deny these feelings I have for you Alan, and I won't. There is no one on this earth I'd rather be with." |

AJ could never feel any happier than this moment, Helena confessing her true feelings for Alan. AJ knew that Helena was never the woman to have a man to always depend on, because Helena is her own person, not like someone else. It reminds AJ a lot of about his sister and mother, two people he looked up too. His mother was not perfect due to her powers, but she loved AJ with unconditional love. Then there was his sister Jade, who was more than just a sister, but a best freind too when AJ needed advice. "I'm glad were both on the same page then aren't we Helena?", he asked The Huntress with a bit of a smile. Now that they got everything out in the open, the two can move forward.
"Let's just take this slow and see where this leads us Helena. One thing is for sure, I won't give up on us and I will prove to you, how much I care about you Helena, trust me" he said to her softly before looking at his watch. He looked up at The Huntress before speaking. "Hmmm...we still have enough time. How about the both of us continue our sight seeing around here, head back to the whichever hotel we are staying at, then..we could just..spend some time together", he suggested to Helena. He wasn't meaning anything to rush but to just relax, forgetting about the rest of the world, maybe even do some saving around here in Italy. He just wasn't here to do his job for the company he worked for, but his service as a super hero. |

"Yes."Helena replied with a small smile to Alan, happy as well that they were now on the same page. "I agree," She replied,And I won't give up on us either. I promise." She looked at him and smiled once more. "That sounds like a great idea to me." It would be nice to just sit down and spend some time together talking or watching a movie for a while. "Any other places you want to go see?" The Huntress asked.

AJ thought about her question that she asked, thinking it through. They already saw some of the well known locations that Italy brings, so what else could they do? “How about we head back to the hotel and just relax? I think that we’ve seen enough places for the day”, he asked The Huntress. AJ’s day could not get any better, with first, him saving the day during a fire, second, hanging out with Helena and third, the two of them confessing their feelings. AJ found his soul mate standing right in front of him, and he has a chance to make things right between the him and Helena.
The Green Lantern did not want to hurt Helena, because she deserved better in her life. He didn’t want this relationship to end up like his parents relationship, where his mother died because of the dangerous personalities she had. Every time when AJ and his father talk about Thorne and Rose, Alan Senior cried, missing the woman he loved. But that was years ago and now AJ can do things different with Helena, because she was NOT his mother. “So what do you say Helena?” he asked her, now his lover and someone he can appreciate. "That's true, and I think we've pretty much seen everything within walking distance."Helena said,""I say... let's go back to the hotel. Mine?"She smiled, took hold of his hand, and started to walk back in the direction they had come from. For the first time in a very long time, Helena was truly happy and it showed. She with the one she loved and she was content and almost nothing could ruin her day.

"Even though my hotel is a little bit better, we'll give your hotel a shot and see what happens" AJ joked before taking Helena's hand, as the two went back to the hotel that Helena was staying at. After all this time, AJ found the woman that he was looking for. A lot of his friends (super hero and not super hero) could never see AJ in a relationship because of his cocky attitude from time to time when it comes to being a superhero. Well where are all the critics now? Are they laughing at him? Making a joke of him? No. They are not even here right now which is good because they would be in shock, awe, asking AJ questions. As far as AJ is concerned, it's none of their business, only The Green Lantern and The Huntress. FIN |
