AJ was here in Italy to interview a very famous musician thanks to his boss of the GBS. It’s his job as a journalist to report the facts fair and balance. Even though he has a career as a journalist, the son of Alan Scott Senior would do more than that here in Italy. for Why is that? He’s a Green Lantern for crying out loud, so who says he can’t have any fun? All the interview would do his bore him, whoever this “famous” artist is. If there was trouble here in Italy then AJ will take the ring and become the Green Lantern so he can do what brought him here to Earth. If the Justice League needs any help then AJ will be there, the whole interview can come some time later. Sometimes he wished that he could just do whatever he wants in his life but having two jobs can come at a cost. AJ opened the door to his room in the hotel he’s staying at in Italy before closing it behind him. He throws his bags on the bed as he walked in before AJ plopped on the bed, so exhausted and tired. Looking at his watch, it was 4: 50 PM so he had some time to rest until he gets something to eat, take a walk or do something. AJ wouldn’t just stay in this room at the hotel for the entire time and do nothing…but AJ thought of something. Why not go out and get some fresh air by himself the old fashion way? AJ stood up from his bed and looked down at the green ring on his finger. “Alright buddy, let’s go for a ride out to the city”, he said as the green ring beamed, covering Hal which turned into his GL attire. Waling over to the window, AJ opens the window and flies into Italy, enjoying the view so far.

Helena dropped her bags in a pile on the floor of her room and gave a gentle sigh before walking over to sit and lay back on the bed. Finally she could relax. Well, at least try to while she could. She had decided to go on a little break of sorts, but she wasn't sure if she should call it that because she had brought her suit and everything along with her... Just in case... She wasn't really paranoid or anything, it just she didn't want to be caught unprepared while separated from the other superheroes she knew and trusted.
After a few minutes of just laying there, she sat up and checked the clock so see she had plenty of time to explore Italy. Her Italian was still pretty fluent, so she wasn't worried about having any communication problems while she was staying here. Getting off of the bed, she stuffed her suit in the closet and just took a pocketknife and gun with her. She didn't want to wear her suit right now. She just wanted to walk around for a while and maybe later she would do a small patrol of sorts when night fell. Helena walked over to the door and slid out to the room before headed outside to walk around.

The view from where AJ flew was breathtaking and Italy so far did not disappoint the green lantern. This is way better than some interview with an artist/musician and AJ couldn't be any happier. All of the sudden, The Green Lantern starts to see a building that's set on fire. AJ could see the smoke coming out of each window, next he looks down to see people outside of the building waiting to get back inside, along with firefighters trying to put out the fires. "Now this is a job for The Green Lantern" he said to himself. Flying towards the building, AJ lands to where everyone is as they see The Green Lantern right in front of them. They were all shocked but in the end they clapped and knew that a hero would save them. Walking up to the firefighters he saw the fire chief as he looked up. "Excuse me sir, are there any people inside the building?" , AJ asked him but it looks like the fire chief didn't understand his english. AJ spoke in Italian (which his father taught him) and the fire chief understood as he explained the situation to the Green Lantern. AJ starts to fly up to the building he scans the whole place with his green ring and could see there's quite a few people. "Alright buddy, time to work", he said with the ring glowing. In each room green firefighters starts to put out the fire from each room with hoses and extinguishers. "That's it, keep it coming", he said to the ring.

Helena pushed the doors to her hotel open and stepped out onto the sidewalk as a firetruck sped by, it's sirens blaring. So much for a peaceful start to the day. Looking in the direction the firetruck had gone, she saw dark gray smoke climbing into the blue sky only a few blocks away. A building had gone up in flames. She found herself jogging toward the burning building a moment later, feeling the urge to go see and help out. There had to be something she could do to help out. All thoughts of her peaceful walk and exploration through the town had disappeared as she broke into a run.
The building came into view as she drew closer. Helena slowed to a stop on the sidewalk across the street where the police were keeping people away. She looked up to see a familiar figure. The Green Lantern. A small smile crept into her face at the sight of another Justice League member. What was he doing here in Italy? She wondered as she watched him put out the raging inferno. Turning to a woman next to her, Helena spoke to her in Italian, asking what had happened. He woman explained that she had just gotten there as well and didn't know what exactly had happened. Helena nodded and looked back to the burning building and Alan.

The green ring did its work of starting to put out the fires in the building, but AJ wasn't done. The ring scanned the rest of the building and AJ could see there's people trapped in their rooms. AJ was about to fly and open some windows to rescue others but below he saw someone else, a beautiful brunette talking to someone. That's Helena Bertinelli, better known as The Huntress and fellow member of the Justice League. Since he first met her, AJ started developing these feelings for her, he just never had the courage and strength to tell her. He wondered what Helena was doing here all by herself, maybe visit family or could be on assignment by the league. Maybe he could talk to her and private, finally admitting how he feels. The biggest task is right infront of him and he's getting distracted. Flying up to one window, he opens it with his hands before going inside. He looks around to see the firefighters still putting out the flames but he has to look for anyone who was in here. "Anyone here!?", he called out, then he heard a voice. Running to one room, he opens a door and saw a little girl who was scared. AJ smiled & placed his hand on her shoulder. "It's alright, you're safe but hold onto me" he said as the green ring formed around the two. It lifted them out of a window and lands to the ground outside. The little girl see's a woman and smiles as the green faded and the little girl ran to the woman, hugging her. The woman was filled with tears and hugged the girl tight. It made AJ smiles to know that he reunited two people, mother and daughter together.

Helena thanked the woman and moved closer to the barrier, looking up in time to see Alan looking down at her. She offered a small smile, glad to see him, and watched as he disappeared into the building. The fire had by now died down though the last of the smoke still rolled out of the open windows and floated into the sky. Her mind wandered and she wondered why Alan was here. Was it an assignment or for his job? Either one seemed probable to her. She was glad to see him here as she truly did enjoy his company. Helena even had a crush on Alan, though would never easily admit it to anyone. Did he even feel the same way?
She watched as the Green Lantern reappeared with a little girl and reunited her with her mother. Helena smiled at the scene. This was what made risking her life every day worthwhile, she thought, well, that and making criminals pay for their offenses. In a heartbeat, she would have done anything to save another person or comrade from danger, even if it meant her own life. After losing her family, Helena wouldn't be able to live with herself in anyone else close to her died when she could have done something. That was why she was constantly throwing herself in the path of danger for others. Walking through the crowd over to Alan, she approached him from behind,"Well, hello, stranger." Helena said with a smile.

The Green Lantern continued to save more lives as the fire in the building started to die down a bit. His ring helped people get out of the building safely and back to loved ones. It made AJ feel appreciated that he’s making a difference in the world and changing the way how people see their heroes. Some thought that heroes were to never exist, that heroes don’t belong on the planet Earth, well they are wrong. Some of these heroes are human, just like the people in the world and they share the same ideas too. Once he was finished, AJ lands down in front of the people as they start to thank him for helping, including the firefighters. But he heard Helena’s voice behind him as he slowly turned around, seeing The Huntress in her civilian state. AJ smiled and felt glad to see her. “And hello to you Miss Bertinelli, it’s good to see you”, he said to Helena, while the firefighters were telling the people to still stay outside just in case. AJ would say the same thing to do and so would Helena. Maybe the appearance of Helena gave him a chance to stay focused and imagine her being in trouble. Of course, Helena‘s a tough cookie and she can handle herself in a situation. But AJ wouldn‘t just stand by to watch, he would be there for Helena in any way possible. AJ loved hanging out with her, always being good company so he wouldn‘t be alone. “So what brings you by here in Italy?”, he asked Helena. His reason for being here wasn’t that much fun, besides his other job as a “hero” but seeing The Huntress made his day more better.

"It's good to see you as well." Helena responded with a smile, so happy to see him. At least she wouldn't be here alone in Italy, and having a close friend was even better. "I had some free time and thought I'd just come here for a visit while I could. What about you?" She asked him curiously a moment later, looking up at him. "How long are you here for?" She asked him, wondering if he would be here for a while as well. She hoped so anyway. To be honest it would be a little boring here without a friend and company like Alan. If he was staying for a longer time maybe they could explore and start an adventure of sorts here in Italy.
The crowd slowly started to fade away and the firemen started to pack up as the fire had been put out. Helena brushed her raven black bangs out of her face and glanced around before looking back to Alan. It was undeniable, she had feelings for him. It was kind of funny to see him here in Italy, a coincidence. She was just glad to see him here and to be speaking with him.

"I'm here on vacation but at the same time business for...other things", AJ told Helena. What he meant by that is the other carrer he has as a journalist. One thing as a journalist, you can get access to everything when it comes to press conferences and interviews. He loved his job at the GBS and is very passionate about the issues but sometimes his boss can be complete jerks. The powers to be didn't care what the people want when it comes to news but Alan sure did, so his boss couldn't fire him because AJ got his boss the inside sources that no one else would look. Alan wanted to be transparent and show quality to the people who watch GBS so that's always a plus. "That is not the only thing because I am here to enjoy Italy and get to have some quality time but it looks like I am not going to be alone", he told The Huntress as he hinted of spending time with her. He wouldn't mind doing that but he wanted to do it as himself, as Alan Scott Junior, not the Green Lantern. Maybe this can be the opportunity where the two can talk about their feelings and go from there. AJ did not want to hurt Helena because she has been a good friend to The Green Lantern in times of need for advice or someone to talk too. Helena wasn't with another guy or anyone else so why shouldn't AJ just step up and tell Helena how he felt? AJ has to take his time and not rush until the perfect moment comes.

Helena nodded in understanding when he said he was here on vacation as well as some stuff for work. "At least you get a little bit of a break. Well, kind of anyway. You can't really ignore your job as a superhero, right?" She smiled at him. She was here on a vacation from her normal life, but she knew she would have to suit up and become The Huntress a few times while staying here. It was unavoidable and she didn't mind it, as long as she knew she was saving lives and keeping criminals off the streets she was fine with becoming The Huntress.
"Yes, it looks like you are going to be stuck with me for a while, doesn't it?" She said saying he would be stuck with her, Helena Bertinelli, as well as the Huntress,"I promise not to become an annoyance." Helena told him, giving another smile, almost a completely different person from the usual serious Huntress. "Now, would you like to grab a coffee and walk for a bit with me while you can?" She asked after a moment, not sure if he had other plans or not. Silently, she hoped he was free, as she enjoyed his company and didn't want to be alone here in Italy because that wouldn't be as much fun.

AJ wouldn't turn down her invitation for some coffee and walk a bit in Italy but then he thought of something. "Hold on, I will be right back...I need to go and do something quick", he told her as the green ring forms around AJ, lifting him off the ground and into the air, taking him some place where no one can find him. In a alley where there's no one, AJ lands on the ground before he looks at the green ring. "Let's take a break, i'll tell you when I am ready", he said as AJ's GL attire fades. He is in nothing more than just his regular clothes. Leaving the alley, he knew where to find Helena and that's by the building where the fire took place. He would use his green ring for directions but that would not help him but only revealing who he is. AJ found Helena a few minutes later and smiled at her. "Sorry about that. I had to make some changes but i'm ready for that coffee, so lead the way Helena. Oh and let me buy the coffee it's on me" he said to Helena. AJ being the gentlemen was no surprise. Alan Sr taught his son the importance of respect and how he should treat others. He looked up to his dad and followed his every single move. His mother's personalities would teach AJ in a different way but he didn't turn out to be like her. AJ trusts Helena and calling her by her real name was nothing new. It wasn't like they were in the Watchtower, The Hall of Justice or other places where there's nobody but the Justice League.

Helena nodded, knowing what he had to go and do. She watched him leave and waited patiently for his return. The crowd had faded away by now, only a few people walking by or talking remained. She looked to the now scorched building and was relieved no one had died or gotten seriously hurt, thanks to Alan, or better known as the Green Lantern. She ran her fingers through her curly hair and took a deep breath before exhaling softly. It was nice to know she wouldn't be here in Italy alone now that she had run into Alan.
Hearing Alan's familiar voice behind her, she turned around to look at him and smiled seeing him out of his suit. He looked handsome, as usual, and wore casual attire like herself. She listened to him and shook her head,"It's fine. If I remember correctly there's a really nice cafe a few blocks away from here." She said aloud and started down the sidewalk, sticking close to Alan. "So, how are you?" Helena asked after a few moments, her gray eyes moving from the sidewalk ahead to him.

As AJ followed Helena to the café, she asked how he was doing. The Green Lantern looked at her before speaking. “I’m good. I came here to Italy because I am on assignment from my boss over at GBS. I have to interview some famous artist while I am here before I head back to the states. But to be honest, I rather save the world than do some pointless interview”, he said to Helena. One thing about AJ was that he didn’t need anyone to cover his behind or save his own you know what. AJ was his own man who took responsibility of his actions. AJ even has good reasons if it was for his job or helping others like he does outside of work, when his boss would get on him. At least he didn’t have to deal with work for now but his boss will probably bug him to see if any progress was made. “How about you Helena? How have you been? I didn‘t expect to see you here in Italy all by yourself but i‘m just glad to know I am not alone”, he asked her. The Green Lantern didn’t know much about Helena’s life and there was no need to, besides it would bring bad memories for The Huntress. He could not do anything to take away the pain when she lost her parents. AJ lost his mom too thanks to Ravan but wanted to know why she gave him, Jade and Todd up for adoption. When his dad told him what happened, AJ wanted to kill the punk who murdered his mother but Alan Sr stopped him, persuaded AJ to do what’s right. Killing was not the easiest way but making sure justice is served gets better. A few minutes later, Helena and AJ arrived at the café she mentioned earlier as the two go inside.

Helena fell into step beside Alan, walking sat his shoulder as they headed to the cafe. She listened as he explained to her why he was here in Italy. "I'm happy to hear you are well. Sounds like that should be an interesting interview," She responded when he brought up an interview with a famous artist he had to do while he was staying here in Italy, "Yeah, same here. I would honestly be suited up all the time if I could since crime happens all the time." She knew that from a very young age, since her family had been murdered before her very eyes. Helena had long ago tracked down the people responsible for her family's death and had made them all pay the price for the actions until eventually the one who had help the gun had been the last, and then she went after him. That was back when she had spiraled almost out of control and the Bat Family, especially Bruce, pulled her back on track and got her to join the Justice League. Those darker days were behind her now though and she was a better person, or at least she hoped.
"I'm doing good as well. I've recently stopped back at Gotham to visit and help out with crime when I can. I just decided to come here and take a little break and maybe visit some distant family." She told him as the Cafe came into sight a few moments later. "Yeah, I thought about that. Traveling here all by myself, but I figured I'd be okay." Helena walked up to the doors and opened one, holding it open for Alan before stepping inside and moving over to the counter to order.

[/cener] Going to the counter AJ ordered what he wanted. Some coffee and pastries to be exact, but he never had this every other morning before he went to work. Sometimes he has some kind of fruit alongside with orange juice or water just to keep himself healthy. On holidays he would have sweets and the type of foods that he loved as a kid. If his mother saw him doing that on holidays, she and her crazy persona would of set AJ straight. AJ didn't know how his mom Rose would feel about Helena or any other woman. One thing's for sure, Rose would unleash hell on earth if her baby boy was hurt. Rose may have been a complicated woman from what AJ heard back in the day but she would never hurt AJ intentionally. "Well that's good. You do deserve a break from doing all the jumping off of rooftops and going after the bad guys every night. I mean it may be all "fun" as others get to call it but it can be a pain in the butt at times" ,he told her. Gotham was a city that was once corrupted by greed, violence, and fear but now with Helena, Nightwing, and the others in that town they get everything under control. AJ met some of them, like Helena and Nightwing, including Bruce which he was on the fence about. It's like Bruce Wayne would never get any rest from becoming Batman. AJ wasn't so cold and serious like Batman has always been for years. Honestly the man should take a break and let someone else take over but it's unlikely to happen
