STEVEN GRANT ROGERS. SUPER-SOLDIER. CAPTAIN AMERICA.
The muscular blonde had been appointed the duty of welcoming Richard Rider, or Nova as he had chosen his alias to be, to the team. He was to show the new member to the team the ropes to being an Avenger. Nick Fury trusted Rider, and Steven Rogers trusted Fury's judgment.
Steve was walking down the hall of the Avengers Mansion to meet Rider at the door to the mansion and the captain was early. He liked to be a bit early so he had time to think over what he was going to say and how he was going to go about showing Rider around. He arrived in the foyer of the mansion and waited.

As always, Richard cut a red streak through the air as he blazed towards his destination. At supersonic speeds, it was a relatively easy flight. He was certain that the WorldMind would correct his course if he accidentally overshot. That was one of the many benefits of having an alien intelligence stuck in his head. Still, he kept his glowing eyes peeled for the mansion. His workplace was a mansion. How awesome was that?
As he reached the city, the mansion came into view. His destination. He slowed down to a non-supersonic speed and lowered his altitude, coming to land on the front path, leading to the door. He walked to the door, and the waiting captain, and saluted. "Nova reporting for duty." he said with half a smile.

STEVEN GRANT ROGERS. SUPER-SOLDIER. CAPTAIN AMERICA.
Steve returned the half smile that Rider presented. He greeted the newer member of the Avengers team and said, "I"ll show you around." He fell into a steady pace as he walked down the halls of the mansion, making sure to wait for Nova to catch up and match his pace. "First off, I'd like to welcome you to the team," Steve said, his voice neutral and friendly.
"I'm sure you've read the files and know much about us, but I'm sure you have questions?" He glanced at the other man, prodding him to admit.

"Aside from "where's the bathroom?" Oh, yes." Richard nodded, adjusting his helmet slightly. "How do you keep all this on the down low? I mean, I'm standing in the presence of super soldiers, gods, aliens, and all sorts of madness. Hasn't anyone come calling about it?" It just seemed like the most pressing issue for him. His identity was public knowledge in the wider galaxies, but it seemed like costumed heroes had only recently sprung up on Earth. They were probably keeping things on the down low for now.

Steve smirked slightly at the first words. He replied, "There's lots of people in New York, when you walk down the streets most don't take a second glance. We just try to blend it...well all of us except Stark, he likes his identity to be known." The super soldier rolled his eyes. "When we're not in out suits we're normal people. We tend to try and act like it." He shrugged. "As for the mansion? Well...to tell the honest truth I don't know how Fury keeps people off it." He sighed running a hand back through his hair. "You'll have to bring that one up with him."

"I might, yeah." Richard liked Fury. He was quite to-the-point with explanations, forgoing incredibly complex explanations like the WorldMind tended to do. "Well, I think I'm going to fit in here great." I won't be the most ridiculously dressed guy around, at least. he added in his mind. "So, what's it like being an Avenger? Very fulfilling, I presume."

Steve nodded, that sounded like a good idea. He glanced at him and flashed a small smile. "I'm sure you will." He thought for a moment on the other question. He sighed, his jaw set in a line of thoughtfulness. "Being an Avenger isn't exactly as great as it seems, if you can't save someone it's painful. You start thinking about things like, what about their family? Even if it's someone who was trying to kill you, you feel guilty having killed them."

"Wow." Richard stopped momentarily. He hadn't thought of that at all. When he was in Nova Corps, he assumed that part took care of itself. "I never felt guilty about killing. All the ones I killed were the worst the galaxy had to offer." It was odd. When one was used to killing the worst in the business, one forgot about the other ones they affected.

Steve shrugged as he turned to look at the other Avenger. "Normally the only ones I killed were Hydra soldiers...but they had lives too...even if they weren't the nicest people in the world they still may have had children or wives..." He shrugged his broad shoulders once more, "But perhaps it's only me."

"You're a soldier, I assume." Richard said. How could he not be with a name like "Captain America"? "From one soldier to another, that's natural." Richard wasn't a soldier in the most common sense. He was technically an army of one, but he was in an army before all the Nova Corps were killed.

Steve nodded. "Yeah. I'm a soldier." It wasn't that hard to tell. Captain America being the first clue. Steve shrugged. "Well, do you have any other questions?" asked Steve, avoiding the subject of soldiers. It brought up his past in the war and he didn't want to talk about it.

"Not really, no." Richard shrugged. "Unless...do you have a computer here? It could be possible for me to link my computer up to it. Don't worry, it's very secure, unless someone extracts my brain, and how likely is that?" In fact, it was probably very likely, considering their line of work.

Steve nodded, "Yeah, we've got a few of those machines." He led Richard down the hall and into the lab where the computers were kept, he keyed in the code, "Don't worry, the code's in a folder that should be delivered to you." He opened the door and held it open for Richard. "Here it is." The captain shot the other Avenger a smile.

"Alright, WorldMind, work your magic!" Richard smiled back. He placed his hand on one of the monitors and closed his eyes. A couple of seconds later, he opened them again. "There we go. We're all set up. The WorldMind is linked up to your computer. Aren't you, WorldMind."
The response could only be heard by Richard. "I think that's all I need to do."
