Something was not right with Jim and Dick knew this, he can see it. The man was having pain, in his hands, in his back too. He wasn’t doing well and if so, then why wasn’t he in bed relaxing or resting? It didn’t make that much sense to be honest. Then Jim fell down from the counter in pain, Barbara rushed to her father’s side as she checked on him. Dick knew his next move and he didn’t Babs to tell him, but since this is her father were talking about, she had to still. “I’m on it Babs” he told her as he quickly dialed 911. He waited for someone to pick up before hearing a voice.
“Operator? Yes, this is Dick Grayson here. Commissioner Jim Gordon is having a heart attack as we speak so we need an ambulance” he told the operator.

Barbara moved to cradle her father's head in her lap. "Dad!" She cried out, gently smacking his face around willing him to wake up. She knew she must look like a fool as the tears started steaming down her face. She didn't care. Her father was having a heart attack. She didn't want to lose him. No, she couldn't lose him.
She noticed how calm Dick was, and she felt like a fool. But then again, she didn't. All she cared about was her father at the moment. She was glad Dick had called the ambulance, she didn't trust herself to be able to press the buttons. Or be able to talk rationally into the phone.

Dick still listens to the operator as Barbara is with his father. She could see panic on her face, fear, the fear of losing her father, the only thing she still has in this life. Grayson was calm when he spoke with the operator but it was NOT his intention to make her look like a fool. Barbara did not care what Dick felt and she shouldn’t. Her father is more important than anyone else as the operated was finished. “Yes that’s correct…ok thank you and please hurry”,he told the operator as Dick went down on knee next to Babs as he placed his hand on her shoulder.
“The ambulance is on its way Barbara”, he said to her but continued on. “You need to be strong right now, not just for me…but for your dad too okay?”, he said and asked the beautiful red head. Barbara was no coward or weakling but she needs to get it together at some point of this. Dick was not trying to make her feel angry or upset, then he looked at the commissioner. “It’s going to be alright commissioner, ambulance is on its way…just hang in there sir” he told the old man. Jim’s more tougher than two dollar stake and if anything, god will give this man more strength to fight and live.

Barbara shrugged his hand off. She couldn't believe how calm he was. "You wouldn't be this calm if this was your parents!" She shouted at him. If she could have heard herself say it, she would have slapped herself and tried to take it back. But at the moment, she didn't care. At the moment, it didn't matter. Her emotions were running to high.
His words enstileld no hope in her. In her experience, all ambulances were too slow. She pulled her father into her lap, smacking her hand against the floor. "Daddy....you have to hold on. The ambulances...they are on the way." She said to him, holding on to her father.
