Alex was walking out of the office after dropping off a package for John that had arrived at the Wayne's house. He didn't know what it was, but it didn't matter, all he was supposed to do was drop it off. He assumed it was something to do with Robin.
As he was leaving the office, he saw a familiar face sitting on the bench. The beautiful red hair of none other than little Avery Rogers. Avery was a girl that the Wayne child had slowly fallen in love with, silently. Just by observing her. Ever little thing she did he found beautiful. Even her silence he found to be one of the most beautiful sounds. But when she actually spoke, it was like nothing else. He had told no one of his love for her. Especially not his father...who despised her father Steve Rogers.
He wondered what she was doing in the Gotham police department. He walked over to her and felt his heart quicken slightly. "Avery?" He asked in a soft voice, not wanting to scare her.

The red haired didn't want to be here, there were to many people to disappoint. They would smile and offer a hello. She'd say nothing. Absolutely nothing. She didn't even raise her eyes, she wasn't trying to be polite. She, she Avery Rogers the silent one, had attempted to rob a store. She had attempted to take an expensive item that allows one to type in what they want to say and then the machine will say it for them.
Avery didn't want to talk. Her father pressed her to, saying that it would be good for her, but she didn't want it. She just wanted to curl up into a ball and shut everyone out, let the machine do the talking, but her father would never let her buy, hell he wouldn't buy it for her if it was life or death.
The red haired girl looked up at the voice, familiar. She caught sight of Alexander Wayne. Their fathers hated each other, a hate that went deep enough to strangle life form planet Earth itself. She sighed softly and looked away, returning to her shell and seemingly closing an invisible door in his face.

Alex had smiled slightly when she looked up, but had frowned when she looked down again. He wanted to know why she was here. He wanted to know what he could do to help her... He wanted to know everything that he could do, just maybe even get her to say hello...
He walked over to her and softly took a seat on the bench beside her. "Avery? You okay?" He asked softly, looking at her with his blue eyes, a soft and friendly smile was on his lips as all he wanted to do was help her...and that was all he needed to do as well...

She felt like screaming at him to go away, she didn't want to talk to anyone. She just wanted to get this over with and then go home, go home and sit in her room and blast music or get lost in a book or her poetry. But she didn't say a word, she just stayed where she was, but stiffened when he sat beside her. Why wasn't he just walking away like everyone else did? Why did he have to sit by her? She didn't feel comfortable sitting so close to those she hardly knew, especially when they were guys.
Avery shifted uncomfortably and scooted to the far edge of the bench. She glanced at him. She nodded curtly at his question. She didn't want to talk to him, she didn't need any help from anyone. She just wanted to be alone. Alone, her silent reverie made that simple. After a while everyone gave up trying to pry open the door that she shut herself behind. Even her brother and sister stopped trying. Her father was close to giving up. Now he didn't even ask her how her day was, he'd just sigh and walk away, disappointment in his eyes.

Alex sighed as she scooted away. He sighed again and just looked ahead, his hands on his knees as he sat beside her. Well, sort of beside her. "Okay...we won't talk...but if you want to leave here. And not be found...I can get you out." He glanced at her and then looked ahead again.
He had never offered to teloport someone before, and especially not away from a crime. He didn't even know what she had done and he was offering to get her out. He knew his father would be furious if he ever found out, but he didn't care. Not at all. He sat beside her, in silence, pure and quiet. He wanted to help her, but it was hard if he never got a word out of her. She had hardly said hello to him, but as some people say, She had had him at hello...

Avery didn't look at him. Please...just go away... she thought I can't be helped.. She said nothing aloud. Even if she did talk to him she wouldn't be so rude as to tell him to go away. She was polite, just like her father and would never tell anyone - besides Tony Stark - to go away.
She brushed a strand of red hair from her face and looked at the ground. She did, however, glance up at his words, a red brow arching. She almost asked him how, but refrained from it. She wasn't going to speak.

Alex sighed softly, and put his hand on hers. He didn't know how she would react, but didn't realize he had done it. He softly ran his thumb over the back of her hand in an attempt to comfort her. Realizing what he had done he moved his hand away and looked at her.
He had seen her eyebrow rise in question, and decided to answer her. "I can teloport." He said quietly, looking at her. He wanted to help so badly, maybe find out what she had done and help her fix it...
