Barbara ate her sandwich quickly, not wanting to waste time. She was done by the time he was done changing, having already slipped her dishes away and into the dishwasher to be washed when next she ran the cycle. She waited for him to return and adjusted her mask and moved her hair so it fit with the normal Batgirl look.
When he returned, she slipped her arms around him. At his comment about how she looked in black and yellow, she grinned, her green eyes sparkling. She kissed his lips for just a moment. "Has anyone told you how sexy you are in black and blue?" She teased, slipping out of his arms and giving his rear a playful smack as she moved to the door. She slipped outside and used her grappling hook to pull herself onto the roof. "Race you." She challenged with a grin.

“Me?”, he asked in response to her question, just smirking a bit. He felt her hand give a playful smack on his rear end as the man jumped a bit. “Oh I see, a little playful aren‘t we?”, he asked her again before seeing Barbara move toward the door, saying race you to Dick and he knew where this was going. In his early years on patrol with Bruce, Dick made things interesting and fun, but he learned a lot from Bruce on how to be serious at certain times. “It’s on now”, he told her, accepting her challenge of a race, as he stepped outside of the door.
Taking out his grappling hook, Nightwing pressed one button before he grappling hook hit the target. “Last one there is a rotten egg!”, he told her as Nightwing took off, going from building to building, feeling the adrenaline. This is what people like Barbara, Tim, John, and even Dick himself live for every night and Dick would not change his ways. They were all inspired by The Batman, a symbol of hope, a beacon of light, someone that Dick looked up outside of the mask when it came to Bruce Wayne. He would do whatever it takes to protect Gotham, Bludhvaen, Barbara, hell, even the world.

She grinned and had responded with a 'yes you' to his question, but now the race was on. She loved the feeling the wind flying through her hair as she ran across the rooftops. She loved the feel of the flying over the buildings, leaping from one to another. She loved the adrenaline that pumped through her veins.
As he jumped up next to her, she took off across the rooftops. She wouldn't lose to him. She ran fast and hard, leaping across a gap between the buildings, feeling as if she was flying for just a moment. Then her feet hit again and her taking off along the concrete top again.

From rooftop to rooftop, Nightwing led the chase so that Batgirl can follow him but just as his feet hit the roof of another building, the vigilante heard sounds of cars, but it wasn’t just anything regular. Nightwing stopped going any further so that he can take a look at the situation. Taking out his binoculars, Nightwing looked at where the situation was taking place. He thought he saw cars at first but it was vans as people with black masks and riffles, as they started going into a restaurant. Luckily the restaurant looked closed so at least there’s no bystanders in there.
But this is something fresh out of the box, guys with black masks to rob a resultant or a store, what else was new? He turned on his binoculars into detective mode as the man could see through the building, seeing the men with masks, and looking around. Nightwing turned to Barbara and pointed to the restaurant down below before speaking. “There”, he said to her. “Looks like we got the usual again, this time a restaurant”, he told Batgirl, continuing to look at the restaurant, finding a good way to get in, instead of coming through the doors and getting shot at by these thugs.

Batgirl nodded as she skidded to a stop at his side. She was breathing lightly, only a little harder than normal. She was in good shape - you had to be to do this. She looked on, seeing a few options on how to get inside.
She turned her head and looked at Dick. "Meet you inside." She said before doing a tipple back flip off the roof and hitting the ground running. She was not afraid of these men, so what was the point.

Dick watched his girlfriend do an amazing triple back flip before she hit the ground running. Putting away his binoculars, Nightwing jumped before hitting the hard ground of the sidewalk before following Barbara’s lead. Dick didn’t fear these guys, because they only had guns, riffles, the stuff that cowards would use against Dick and any others who were with him on patrols. Someone like The Joker or The Black Mask would have their minions fight for them and that was the sad thing, fighting their own battles, instead of the criminals coming out on their own.
Approaching the restaurant, Dick slowly and quietly opened the doors as he stepped inside so Barbara could follow him. He tapped the side of his domino mask as like his binoculars, went into detective mode, seeing where the guys were but suddenly he saw someone in front of him and Barbara. The guy had his back turned to them, trying to get out money from a cashier and steal some other stuff around him. Turning off detective mode, Dick looked at Barbara. “I got this one”, he whispered to her. Quietly and slowly, Dick walked up behind the guy and grabbed him before Nightwing knocked him out.
One down and more to go

Barbara grinned and slipped in around the one he had taken down. She loved this, how he relied on more gear than she did, and how he always took the first one. She snuck around and took out another with a hit to the soft spot where the shoulder and the neck join. Her grin was unmatched as she moved around like water in a river, taking down man after man, silently. She kept moving, smiling happily as she went. These men deserved everything that came to them, though she would never kill again.

Nightwing looks over Batgirl and smiled a bit, it felt good seeing Barbara back in action as Batgirl, going after the bad guys, taking no prisoners. Dick would not be the guy to stop Barbara from doing what she loves best. These two weren’t looking for some normal life together as a couple, and they knew that this world is dangerous, because you never know what can happen. Criminals coming out of nowhere, super powered villains making their presence known, so nothing in this world is ever perfect. Nightwing was dedicated in keeping the good fight against others.
Someone was running up behind Dick but Nightwing just punched the guy while looking at Barbara. He can continue to do this but the man has a job to do, making sure these criminals don’t’ get away with anything. Suddenly his eyes caught someone trying to point a gun at Barbara and Dick quickly ran at Babs. “Batgirl get down!” he said to her as Nightwing pulled out a batarang, throwing it inside of the gun, before the sound of the trigger went off. Nightwing took Barbara as the two of them went down on the floor together.

Barbara kept going into the fight, taking out a man with a move she had learned from the Black Widow. She took a man down with her legs, and took out the other man with a back flip kick. She was much more flexible than the average woman. She loved this job. It was more fun than anything else.
When Nightwing called her name, she looked at him. When he ran into her, she wrapped her arms around him. When they hit the floor, she rolled to be on top of him, protecting his body with hers, just in case it would be needed. "Are you alright?" She asked, not feeling the pain that she should have been...

The sound of the gun went off before Dick covered Barbara so that she wouldn’t get the same results on what happened that previous night, when Babs almost died. Hearing Barbara ask if he’s okay, Dick looked up, seeing the coward who pulled the trigger on the gun, ran out of the restaurant, not wanting to face the consequences, but the guy didn’t matter at this point. Just as Dick was about to say something, he winced, feeling someone near his ribs, that hurts. He looked down and saw a bullet near his ribs as Nightwing sighed harshly before looking at Barbara.
“Uh…maybe not”, he said to Batgirl. Dick started to stand up but at the same time he did that, Dick just felt some pain thanks to the coward with the gun. He has been in different situations like this, his most memorable moment was when Dick and Bruce were trying to save some people against Two-Face. That ended up horribly for Dick and caused some problems between him and Bruce, but it was a lesson that Dick learned, never take anything for granted. Looking at his girlfriend, Dick weakly smiled at her, “I’m good, just a little pain baby, let’s head back home and get this bullet off of me”, he said to her.

As soon as she saw the blood, her hands were clamped on the wound. As soon as she saw the blood, visions of the men she had killed flashed in her mind. As soon as she saw the blood, a deep set fear of losing him consumed her. Her hands pressed on it, just to make sure, just in case. Her emerald eyes found his, looking into his eyes.
At his words she nodded. She didn't want to lose him, they had done enough for tonight. "Yeah. Come on babe...Lean on me." She pulled him up and pulled his arm around her shoulders, helping him out at a slow limp. She entwined her fingers with the hand she held over her shoulders to support him, kissing his masked cheek gently. "We'll get that bullet out as soon as we get home." She said, pulling his arm tighter over her shoulders to keep him up.

Barbara helped Dick up and he faintly smiled at his girlfriend, looking at her. She didn’t care if she wasn’t just Batgirl because Barbara is human, someone who has feelings for her lover Dick Grayson. He returned the kiss and wanted to show her how much she meant to her, but is better that he doesn’t do it. The man’s hurt but nothing that Dick could handle, even though he wasn’t like Bruce who acted stubborn, and even arrogant at times when he was hurt. Dick let Barbara help him up before the two of them left the restaurant together.
As they went outside, the car pulled up to the front, and Dick’s car would always follow wherever Dick himself or him and Barbara would go out for patrol. He reached into his utility belt and took out the keys to the car, giving them to Barbara. “Here you go babe, you can drive this time”, he said to her with a bit of a smirk on his face but winced a bit because of the pain. The doors opened for the two of them thanks to the cars remote controls. They were going to head home and take care of this but one things for sure: Dick Grayson is not going anywhere and he ain’t dieing tonight.

Barbara gently helped him into the car. She gently kissed his cheek, smiling as she took the keys from him. She kissed his cheek again, then his lips softly. "Good choice..." She smiled softly, kissing his brow softly, gently tracing her finger along his jaw. She wanted him to know how much he meant to her.
Barbara closed his door and went around to the other side, slipping into the car. She put the keys in the ignition and started to car - well it was already started. She put her foot on the gas after closing her door. She pulled the throttle and sped off towards home, driving just a tad - a lot - faster than she normally would have to get him home.

Leaving the resturant, Dick noticed that Barbara was taking off in a fast pace and, he was hurt. Barbara wanted to make sure that her lover would not leave her tonight but it would take more than a bullet to end Dick's life. The man would hold on long enough so that Barbara can take good care of him. At the same time he could hear sirens, which means that the police was on their way but as far as Dick was concerned, he could care less what they could do, which is to get the people who were trying to steal from the restaurant. Dick and Babs can deal with saving the streets later, now they need each other.
Arrving at their home, the car doors opened as Dick looked at his girlfriend. "We can go inside Barbara and then into the bedroom, that's where you can take the bullet out, but we'll need the First Aid Kit though", he told her as Dick held the spot where blood was coming from. It was getting on the seat but he didn't care about that. The car would get cleaned later but all that matters is Dick's well being and him getting stiched up so the bledding can stop. Dick would live to fight another day but the coward who pulled the trigger got lucky. If they met once again, the outcome would be different, but with no killing.

Barbara held onto the wheel with a white knuckled grip. She jumped out of the car and around to his side, helping him out. She pulled his arm back over her shoulder, not going to lose him tonight, or any other night. She kissed his cheek as she lead him into the house.
Once into the house, she took him up the stairs. Then she took him down the halls, into their bedroom. She laid down a clear plastic sheet to protect the bed from his blood. She gently laid him on the bed, not even bothering to remove her own mask as she bound into the bathroom for the First Aid Kit...
