{SCOTT ALEXANDER SUMMERS}
Name: {Scott Summers}[/b][/color]1 Flying Fixed wing air crafts (X-jet, and others)}
Nicknames: {Cyclops, Summers}
Age: {Forty-Four}
Occupation: {X-Men Military Leader}
Eye color: {Scott's eyes are a light shade of blue and are ovular. Not many know what color his eyes are however due to the fact he is unable to look people in the eye since he has his optic blast.}
Hair color: {Not too light but not too dark, brown. It's slightly ruffled, could be called somewhat curly. It's basically a mop on his head, and is pretty thick but not very long, about to the tips of his ears.}
Playby: {James Marsden}
Canon/Original: {Canon!}
Powers: {Yes or no, if yes then list below}
{1} {Optic Blast: This would be Scott's Primary ability, in understandable and extremely basic terms he has the ability to release a blast of focused concussive energy from his eyes and at a target. This ability however is a lot more complex than point and shoot in the manner that it actually works. After all the energy itself must come from some source. The most important aspect and piece of this puzzle would be Scott's eyes...
What is so special about his eyes you wonder, well for one they are far from normal eyes. Oh they allow Scott to see the world normally just as you or I would but there is a second purpose to them, one that fewer would understand. You see Scott's eyes function a Apertures, a gateway of sorts between this dimension to another. This other dimension is a non-einsteinian universe, one where the laws created by einstein don't exist or at least they don't function as they would in our world. This dimension is filled with energy, it is similar molecular level to a photon. However they are not exactly a photon either.
The Energy pulled from this second dimension interacts with this dimension by transferring Kinetic energy in the form of Gravitons, what is referred to as a particle of gravity. This leads to the Ruby colored beam of energy to possess its directional Concussive force, when they interact with this universe. The only exceptions to the effect the energy has on physical objects are himself and his siblings, both of whom can shrug off the energy. The reason Scott is capable of ignoring the energy hitting him has to do with a psionic field that serves as a containment device for the power that seems to be built into his skin. This field when struck by his or his brother Alex's powers shunts the energy back into the alternate dimension. The Synthetic
Ruby Quartz glasses that he is seen wearing is also resonant to the effects of his psionic field allowing Scott to utilize it to shut down his powers.
Now we worry about how powerful this beam of what is essentially concussive force is. What it can actually do. As a rule it travels in a strait line until it strikes something that tries to absorb the blow of energy. However the energy will keep going no matter what, at least till the energy is dispersed. Now the power of the beam is dependent upon the force within the beam. This force will shift as the area that the beam is condensed into alters. The general rule is that the smaller more focused the beam the stronger it is. As he can't open and close his eyes apertures he has a visor that has an adjustable slit that will open and close. As a rule they stay closed unless activated with causes the visor to open inwards toward the eye.
His actual beams can vary in size with the smallest being the size of the tip of a pencil and the largest being over 90 feet across. Now each of theses blasts contain a different scale of power to them. The smallest applied a force of 2 pounds per square inch, while the largest will apply 10 pounds. This is mainly due to the amount of energy being released at once. Now his most powerful, relatively speaking, blast is 4 feet across at a distance of 50 feet and applies 500 pounds per square inch of force to an object.
While the width of the blast can be controlled by Scott to a degree its maximum size is based upon a 90 degree viewing angle for his eyesight. Due to this as the energy travels and spreads the force itself will spread and dissipate over time. His power when released at what he considers to be his maximum output can knock over a 5,000 gallon tank of water at a distance of 20 feet or puncture a 1 inch hole in carbon steel at 2 feet.
Keep in mind the actual maximum force of the blasts are unknown though he has managed to overload Bishops ability to absorb energy in seconds. In this same instant Tony Stark measured his energy output and commented that Cyclops was releasing more than 2 gigawatts of energy through his eyes. He has also claimed that he hit Juggernaut with enough power to split a planet, as to whether he truly can split a planet is currently unknown}

Strengths:
{2 Energy Resistance: A strength usually found in mutant siblings with close genetics, is the ability to be 'immune' to the other's power. }
{3 Black Box: More of a talent than a power is an area where the darkest secrets of the mutant known as Cyclops dwell. It's unknown as to how he acquired this little talent, but it's said this area is also the reason for his inability to control his power.}[/ul]
Weaknesses:
{2 Power Regulation Disability: Without the ruby quartz lenses that keep his power from exploding out of his eyes and harming everyone, Scott would be end up losing in a battle, because of his desire to protect and therefore cause him to close his eyes.}
{3 Vulcan: While Scott is immune to his brother Havok's powers, he's not, however, immune to his other brother, Vulcan's powers.}[/ul]
Personality: {Scott Summers is not a man to so easily be defined to even to be put into a box. He is a man that comes in many different ways. At his core he exists within a life that he has chosen to be apart from others even as he is surrounded by others. This is all due to a simple reality, he has a stigma or sorts, his powers are devastating and he unconsciously limits the power he uses through fear of them. The fear of what would happen if he lost any more control that that which he has already lost. So he strives to keep any form of connection happening between himself and those he leads.
For no matter what one can say about his lack of compassion or his ability to understand others the man has a skilled mind for tactics and if one was to take the words of Nick Fury... one of the most dangerous battle field leaders of his time. For it is in the field that his ability as a leader is truly seen his ability to see things that others might miss and to follow his instincts that have an odd talent of working out... In fact the more he thinks of a plan the more that tends to go wrong with it so he just tends to do what comes naturally when telling others what to do... or even when doing it himself. In fact one can say that for all his social awkwardness he tends to come out of his shell when everything is on the line.
Either way he seeks to avoid emotional connection due to the various traumas of his life. The first and most important was the deaths of his parents and the presumed death of his younger brother Alex. Either way those things and his lack of control have defined him for the better part of his life. He had been unable to protect his brother and he was in constant pain from the loss of his parents. It caused him to emotionally shut down and only a small number of people can manage to get close and only a slightly larger number can an emotional response out of him (Logan among them).}
History: {Born in Anchorage, Alaska to Major Christopher Summers, an Air Force test pilot and his wife Katherine Ann Summers, Scott is their eldest son. About 8 years after Scott was born his brother Alex was brought to the world. It was at age 10 when things honestly changed for the young Scott and his much younger brother Alex. Returning home from a vacation away from the base their family plane was attacked by a Shi'ar Empire scout ship. The de Havilland Mosquito (Christophers private plane) was burning up and plunging to the ground... with no choice Scott and Alex were forced into the last remaining parachute and pushed from the plane. It was the last that Scott would see of his parents and it was doubtful that Alex would even remember them. Either way as they plummeted Scott saw the plane explode causing the presumed death of his parents.
Debris from the explosion cause massive damage to the parachute as the young children rushed towards the rapidly approaching ground. With the parachute failing and imminent death coming Scott's stress level spiked and within him his power was released for the first time. Either way the outburst of power was enough to allow the two boys to survive however Scott suffered massive head trauma and fell into a coma.
Either way the young man woke up nearly a year later with little memory of the night of his parents death. By this point his powers had been blocked at least for the moment and Mr. Sinister, a man that had been watching him as he lay in his coma pulled strings to send Scott to the State Home for Foundlings. It was here that Scott discovered from Mr. Milbury that the toddler Alex had not survived the fall. Dr. Milbury was actually Sinister who had already taken an interest in Scott and used his own abilities of intellect and shapeshifting to test Scott and also to bully him as the room mate Lefty. All the while a number of mental blocks were placed within Scott for a number of reasons though the exact reasons were never explained... It can be assumed that Scotts ability to hide things from telepaths could be attributed to these blocks.
At the age of 13 Scott was adopted from the orphanage by Jack Winters AKA Jack O'Diamonds. It was only after his powers began to reawaken that Jack sent the boy to see a specialist, specifically once more Sinister butting his head into Scotts life. At this point he gave Scott a pair of Synthetic Ruby Quartz glasses and told him that they would cause the headaches to happen less often. It was not long after that his powers destroyed a plane and had not Scott used a second blast to push the falling debris from them. Either way the bystanders decided that he had tried to kill them and as such sought to kill him.
Winters, the legal guardian of the still young Scott forced the boy to aid him in his crimes going so far as to physically abuse the child to get what he wanted. Either way afraid of the physical pain he was forced to do as Jack wished. This life of crime caught the attentions of Charles Xavier and a member of the FBI Fred Duncan. It was from this pairing the Scott was found and rescued by Xavier before being recruited to the Xavier Institute as the first student.
It was hear the the young Scott learned of Xaviers wish for mutant human equality and even how to control his powers. Even though control itself was out of his reach he did learn to keep them from causing trouble... as such a few things were created for him, besides multiple styles of glasses, and a combat visor he also had a pair of contacts made as well as a sleep mask... though the glasses and visor were the most effective.
It was also in this time that it could be noted that while an excellent leader Scott lacked social skill mostly due to the bullying and various other things that had been done to him had caused. His own fear of his abilities only made him want to stay out of the limelight even more. Either way he found himself attracted to Jean Grey and it was in their early 20's that they eventually began to date. Their relationship was hardly perfect and went through the same trials and tribulations any would however it also gave Scott the emotional stability he craved though also denied allowing him to open himself to someone even as he formed a sort of father son bond with Xavier.
It was not long until Xavier sent Scott and Ororo to save a pair of mutants in Canada, The Wolverine and also the young Rogue. This event caused a series of unfortunate events that lead to a battle with Magneto atop the Statue of libery. This battle and the over use of Rogues talents caused many near fatalities. It was only luck that allowed them to survive as Magneto nearly beat Wolverine but Scott managed to shoot Magento disrupting his concentration allowing a destruction of the macine and subsequent arrest of Magneto.
For a time after this things seemed peaceful until on a trip to visit Erik with Prof. X Scott was attacked by Yuriko Oyama aka Lady Deathstrike. This lead to William Stryker controlling Scott using a drug harvested from his son. When the Xmen, consisting of Logan, Ororo, Jean, and Kurt Wagner arrived in the dam, Scott attacked Jean and their battle brought him back while also severly damaging the building. In the end Jean was subsequently killed by a wall of water with Scott looking on. In the end Scott Summer could not stay with the X men as he packed up and returned to Alaska due to a message from grandparents he had not known about.
It was here in Alaska that he met Madelyne Pryor and started a relationship with the woman, though Scott later realized that his only reason of attraction towards her was that she looked identical to his now dead girlfriend of many years and was a way to escape the reality of it all... Either way with a baby on the way he tried to make things work out. Only problem was the woman was a clone planted by the man who had manipulated his life from the start. Upon discovering what the woman was she slowly began to loose her mind going so far as to try to sacrifice the infant son she bore with Scott. Scott used his powers to save his son though what happened to Maddie is up to this point unsure. It was then that Scott discovered the TO virus in his son and a woman in a vision offered to help his sun to survive as he was a messiah for the world.
Distraught and in tears with nothing left he ended up giving up his son in the hope that he would find a better future. Before the boy left though Scott named him Nathan Christopher Summers, Christopher after his father... though one could make the case the name Nathan could have come from Madelyn's father (Nathaniel Essex, Mr. Sinister), that would likely be a fact contested by both Scott and Nathan.
From here a distressed and grieving Scott returned to the mansion though he found himself unable to focus on classes as he kept hearing Jean within his head. Eventually after a confrontation with Wolverine about him not taking his duties seriously Scott left and simply drove away... his pointless and random drive eventually ended on the shores of Alkali lake where only a few years before he had lost the one woman he had truly loved. In a fit of rage as he heard her again he unleashed his power at the lake only to moments later discover the very woman that had been calling him standing besides him.
What happened from this point is unknown, and Scott is not about to talk about it, he remembers Jean blocking his powers and then kissing her and then from that point nothing,
But the question is: did Scott "Cyclops" Summers really die?}
RP Sample: {How do you explain something that you can't really wrap your head around? Question upon question had been thrust upon the mutant upon his return from the dead and to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters and frankly they'd been giving him a bit of a headache. So he did what any sane mane would do; he jumped on a his motorcycle and got the hell out of there. Scott Summers, or Cyclops, wasn't really one for coffee, but considering how tired and run down he was he decided that Starbucks was the place to be that morning. After parking outside the coffee shop, Scott switched off the bike and made his way into the shop, pausing for a moment to take in the sights of the store and the menu that hung on the walls.
The air was thick with a layer of the bitterly sweet mixture of liquid gold. Well, it wasn't exactly liquid gold to Scott Summers, but to some it could be considered liquid gold. There was a thin wall of chatter emanating around the shop, bringing an almost lively attitude to the shop with the sleepy workers. Standing in line, Scott surveyed the scene around him. Three tired woman, one a redhead, and the two others blondes, worked behind the counter, slowly taking orders and slowly getting them up and out to the customers. In addition to the quite working woman, there were several other droopy eyed pedestrians milling about. One such man was standing, waiting for his cup of liquid energy, glancing at his watch several times. Without taking a second glance, anyone could tell that he was running late for something and the shuffling woman behind the counter were not helping his situation at all.
But as previously stated, there was a somewhat cheerful air to the coffee shop, fed by the lively chatter of the groups gathered at tables, talking and laughing about mindless things that humans did. To tell the truth, Scott sometimes wished he could talk about mindless things everyday, not just a splatter here and splatter there. More often than he wished that though, he wished he could control his powers, but it was due to brain trauma that he was unable to, therefore he was stuck wearing the ruby quartz glasses that had been specially made for his use.
After placing his order for an iced coffee with extra cream, hoping that it would cure him of that godforsaken pounding in his head, Scott moved towards the line that was waiting for their orders just as he was. However, he happened to barely brush against a woman who was waiting. Honestly, though, it was more her fault than his. She was taking up quite a bit of room and had refused to move. He had attempted to go around her, but ended up brushing against her. Her indignant response made him turn, an eyebrow rising at her tone and her words. "Taking a small step backwards," he began, a suggesting tone to his words, "would reduce the chance of someone running into you." He hadn't really meant to sound rude exactly, it had just come out with a little less patience to his tone than he would have liked there. He, unable to find a better thing to blame, decided that it was the headache's fault for his fading patience. }
