Arkham Asylum. A place known to many but visited by few, a centre for Gotham City’s criminally insane and home to some of the most notorious minds in the world. Any normal person would be scared to enter these walls but Jean felt oddly at peace here. Perhaps because of the things she’d done or because of the things she couldn’t remember doing but in the end it no matter what she was there was only one truth: that this was a place of monstrosity and that she herself was one of them.
Glancing back down to the small letter in her hand Jean turned to glance over her shoulder out of habit, a strange feeling of being watched and if recognized, judged for what she was, who she was. The Famous Jean Grey, once a doctor and politician, a mutant, a teacher and a wife... and now a murderer, a war criminal and a wanted woman in at least two galaxies. Sometimes a Mother if her kids were in the right time stream.. All were things written on nobody's records except her own and all were things that she struggled with on a daily basis.
Briefly she considered checking into Arkham instead of just getting a visitor pass, this Doctor, whoever he was, wanted to study her and an extended stay could be good for her. But a loud screaming coming from the building shook Jean out of that thought as she pocketed the letter and pulled her jacket closer, a solid reminder that the people were villains and she wasn’t one of them... she didn’t think. But Jean could vividly imagine a life here and it scared her.
Truth be told if Hank hadn't recommended the Doctor and his study then she wouldn't even have set foot in this city. She hated it. Mutants had little place in Gotham, there was enough mess with the Meta humans and then there was Batman.. But Hank said this Kaveh Andari knew what he was talking about, and while he wasn't a mutant he was someone worth talking to and if Hank said it was true then that held a lot of weight for Jean.
Gripping the railing Jean finished the walk up to Arkham's doors and slipped inside, where a dark and gloomy interior with a stale scent of lemons hit her. Scrunching up her nose in familiar disgust she headed towards the front desk with a small smile. Placing her palms on the counter she let out a small sigh before speaking, "Doctor... Jean Grey for Doctor Andari."
