There was no such thing as "down time" working for SHIELD, but luckily for Tasha, that's exactly the way she liked it. She was a hard worker, there was no doubt about it. Maybe that hardworking trait sometimes translated into more of a workaholic trait, but so what? At least she did work, and worked hard. That was something she could be proud of, if she chose to be. But Natasha Romanoff was not proud. She had many abilities, and she was confident in them, yes. But never proud. Pride led to vanity, and vanity (which was an unpleasant and undesirable trait in itself) led to weakness. Weakness was most definitely not something that she needed in her line of work.
Working at SHIELD wasn't always easy, but when things got particularly difficult, Tasha was lucky enough to have friends there to have her back just as she would theirs if their situations were reversed. She only had one real female friend, though- or at least, one that was also a coworker and someone she could actually relate to. She and Amelia worked alongside one another in SHIELD frequently, and Natasha found herself with a small smile during each and every one of those occasions. Today would be another- there was quite a bit of work to be done, so they'd decided to work together to get it done in a shorter time frame. It would be an interesting afternoon, to be sure - and maybe even fun. Who said, after all, that one couldn't have fun at work.

SHIELD wasn't the easiest place to work for, but never the less Amelia Raven Smith loved her job. She had a lot of adventures there, that was for sure. She enjoyed them too. She enjoyed the rush of adrenaline that she got; loved saving the life of someone else, either in SHIELD or not. And she loved the other people working there. Well There were a few exceptions. But she loved most of them.
Natasha Romanoff was one that she particularly enjoyed talking to. The two were quite similar, in more ways than they knew. Amelia was working with Natasha that day and she had to say she was looking forward to it. Slipping through SHIELD's halls, Amelia made her way to where Natasha was sure to be. She smiled as she saw her auburn headed friend.
"Hey," she raised her hand in a wave as she approached, flipping a strand of her golden hair over her shoulder as it came dangerously close to falling into her face.
