J I M G O R D O N! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "This is Commissioner Jim Gordon, we've got a situation down on Second Street, I need Team Two to suit up right now!" The newest crime family of Gotham had chosen that night to spring up. There had been multiple shots fired, bank robberies, it was a whole bunch of chaos. Jim was on his way to scene now, feeling that familiar sense of foreboding covering him in a heavy veil of despair.
His heart beat quickened as he approached, he prayed to God that Bruce had enough sense to make sure that Barbara stayed home. He didn't know if he'd be able to protect her in the chaos that was playing out across Gotham and he couldn't bare to loose her. B R U C E W A Y N E! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Bruce Wayne had already left his home. He was speeding down the streets of Gotham on the bat-bike. He had kissed his wife good bye, he didn't know if he coming back. He could only hope that he would be as he raced to meet the men wrecking havoc across the city. (meh short brucey post)

Barbara had heard her father's call. There was no way she would be sitting this one out. If Bruce could risk his neck, then she could too. She wasn't going to sit and listen to the police scanner, rooting on the good guys. No. She would go. No matter the costs she would help. She knew that Dick would be there, and she was going to do all she could to make sure every member of her family, blood and otherwise, got home safely tonight.
She was quickly suited up in the black and yellow uniform. The half cape cinched around her neck. She buckled the yellow utility belt, and strapped another to her right leg. She was ready. She jumped on her bike and headed to the scene. She didn't know if she would be home again later. But that wasn't her concern...

Dick sat in the living room of his apartment in Bludhaven, watching his favorite TV show, Hawaii Five-0. While eating a slice of pizza that features his favorite combs, pepperoni and cheese, and drinking a diet coke. He just finished his shift at the police station, so why not sit back, relax and chill until he he went out on patrol? There's nothing wrong with that. Just as he was about to finish the last slice and the diet coke, suddenly breaking news appeared on the screen, as the news anchor reported that there was some kind of big robberies of shooting at Gotham. Bludhaven will have to wait tonight because Nightwing is needed in Gotham for this. Finishing up quickly, Dick threw all the trash away, donned the attired, and got in his special car for NW, taking off.
On the way, he started to think about the others. He knew Bruce was going to head down there, John Blake wouldn't, since he's still dealing with some problems of his own. That left Babs and even though she shouldn't come to something like this, that would not stop her. She is her father's daughter, and very stubborn, the person to say no against those who would stop her. Barbara is very determined to get what she wants. That's what Dick loved about her and that's why he's dating her, he just did not want to see Babs in cold blood. At the same time, he wouldn't stop her, not even saving her dad, who would also be at this dangerous invite too. Nightwing arrived in Gotham and went right into the city as he looked to where the chaos all started.

Barbara had reached the scene, having ditched her bike a block away. She could already tell they were horribly outnumbered. Outgunned. But she also knew that would not stop them. She adjusted her mask slightly and looked for a good point to jump into the fight.
She swore as a news helicopter caught her in their spot light. She knew she was on every channel in Gotham now. And she knew the robbers had seen her. She knew because a bullet whizzed past her skull. She gulped, and now she knew she had no choice but to dive into the fight.
And dive in she did...

J I M G O R D O N! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Jim's car screeched to a stop at the scene, catching sight of that familiar red hair, he swore to himself stepping out of the cruiser and nearly got hit by a bullet. It whizzed past him, skinning his arm. He pulled out his gun, speaking into his team's intercom. "Bring all the guns and bullets you can and make sure to put a vest on, bullets are flying everywhere." He himself didn't have a vest, but he hadn't had time to stop in at the station, oh no he went straight to the scene.
He was by his daughter in moments. "Dammit, Barbara." He growled, "Go home!" He stepped in front of her, blocking her from a bullet. It slammed into his thigh and he pushed away a wince.
B R U C E W A Y N E! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Batman growled as he pulled up to the scene. He swore softly and slid from the bike. He wasn't going to kill anyone. He would keep to that rule. He wasn't going to break it like John had. Oh no, he would make sure he kept it. Killing Harvey Dent was too much. He wasn't going to do it again.
He swung into the battle, he would make sure both Jim and Barbara made it home safely.

Nightwing arrived in Gotham City, pulling up to the scene of the crime as he could hear bullets firing. He saw Barbara, Jim and Bruce on the scene. Dick knew this was not enough, but more of the GPD would be on the way, trying to even the odds. He wished Tim, Red Robin, was here with him, that way they would have a real fighting chance against these crooks. Still the sounds of bullets were going on. Heck, bullets were hitting his car, so it’s good that Dick had a back up plan to this. He had to think smart and it would not be to hurt Barbara, Jim or even Bruce for that matter
Pressing one button, two things came out in the front of the car. They were almost like shot guns but not completely, as they aim at their targets, the ones making a fuss, the ones shooting. He got a clear visual of the scene and his targets, as he pressed a button that said, Non-Lethal attacks. Pressing that button, the shot guns fired at the bad guys who were causing destruction and hurting innocent lives. This would not kill them but knock them out at least. This would be enough though but Dick had more in store for these guys, anything to help the good guys.

Barbara winced at her father's appearance. She didn't want him to be here. She didn't want him to get hurt. She never wanted that. "Commissioner, leave." She growled, pushing him, gently, back to his car. She eyes the wound on his leg and nodded slightly. It would pain him, but not life threatening.
She looked over at the sound of guns and saw Dick, well, Nightwing, on his bike, firing at the robbers. She smiled faintly, and looked over. Some of them were hiding in the places the blasts couldn't reach, and she knew it. They continued to fire at cops, and the civilians trying to get out of the building. She wouldn't stand for it. She dodged the blue rays as she made her way towards a cluster of the robbers...

J I M G O R D O N! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Jim made a grab for her arm. "Barbara!" He limped towards where she'd gone, not long before he lost sight of her as a few other robbers threw themselves at him, guns banging and flashing. A bullet struck into his side and he winced, but he wasn't going to let her get hurt. He fought his way through the lines and took aim towards where his daughter had gone.
B R U C E W A Y N E! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Batman swung down from the dark, falling beside Batgirl. "Get out of here," he huffed, his voice rough as he swung his fist into the face of a robber. "I can't let you get hurt, you hear?" He growled, swinging and punching another robber.

Batgirl looked at the Batman, looming over her. She huffed. She had always hated it when her father had babied her. And especially when he made Bruce baby her. She knew she needed to talk to him about calling her Barbara while she wore the mask...It would put them all in danger. She rolled her eyes at the bat. "I'm not a child. And I'm certainly not your child." She growled in her disguised voice. The one she saved for when she was one of Gotham's protectors.
She leaped away from the Batman, not wanting him lurking and babysitting her. She wasn't a child. She never would be again. It was time they stopped treating her like one. She jumped in, slamming her foot into one of the robber's head, successfully knocking him out with one blow.
She turned, slamming her fist into another's nose, sending him sprawling back, blood coming like a fountain from the smashed facial feature. She moved again, more robbers coming in and surrounding her, in the little box. But at least she wasn't being babied. At least she was able to do her job now. To serve as the silent warrior she had become.
She ducked under a fist, taking a bullet across the thigh. It wasn't too bad, and only slowed her slightly. So, she paid it no heed and continued to fight. She ducked, another bullet leaving a scratch along the nose of her mask. Close one. She thought. Too close. She heard her father's disapproving voice in her head.
I'm not a baby! She thought angrily, spinning around, slamming her fist into yet another robber. Her eyes searched the scene. The numbers steadily growing, and she wondered if she had been targeted. Specifically. For a reason she didn't know why. She growled angrily, keeping the yelp from her noise as she felt a bullet slice along the exposed skin on her neck.
She turned around. She swallowed hard as she looked into the eyes of the robber, the hard glare of the Batgirl replaced by the scared look of a college student. The barrel of the shotgun dug into her chest, and she knew she couldn't get away fast enough. "Sleep tight flying rat girl." the man sneered. The trigger was pulled. The bang was muted by her skin. She stumbled backwards with the force of the shot, blood immediately spilling from her front.
And the Batgirl fell.....

J I M G O R D O N! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - That bang, that horrid bang would haunt Jim for the rest of his live, that imagine of his daughter falling, blood spilling down her front would forever kill him. For a moment, he couldn't do anything. He was frozen, his heart stopped. No. His heart felt like it had been ripped from his chest. It felt like he had been shot as well, the pain was unbelievable.
"NO!!!" he shrieked, his gun going off and instantly ending the life of the man who'd shot her. He ran to her side, it felt like his feet were moving through mud. It hardly felt like he was going anywhere. When he finally got to her side he moved his hand pressing it to her wound, pulling her up into his lap.
He held her close to him. "No!!" he wailed softly, choking on the lump rising in his throat. Her blood...her blood on his hands. His own daughter's blood was staining his hands, that alone made the pain in his chest more then unbearable. All his life, all he had ever wanted was for her to be safe. Never would he imagined that one day he'd be cradling her body in his arms.
The commissioner wouldn't bury her. He'd be damned before he buried his daughter. He was the parent, he was supposed to die first and even if she was to die, he would make sure it wasn't like this. He wouldn't be able to live with himself if she died here and now. He had been right there, only feet from her. Why hadn't he been able to pull the trigger earlier? Why hadn't he been quick enough to save her? Why hadn't he taken the pain for her?
In a second, he would have taken it. He would take all the pain in the world for her if it meant she'd sustain no harm. He would face the darkest pits of hell for her, because she was his daughter and he would always love her. Always and he wasn't going to let her life end like this.
"Someone call a god damn ambulance!!" Gordon shouted back over his shoulder, his voice pained with the agony of the possibility of loosing his daughter...his little girl...she hated that, but no matter what - to him - she'd was always and would always be his little girl.
Tears were already glistening on his cheeks. "No...no...please....I can't loose you...I can't live without you...Babs....please...." He whispered, his voice cracking with horrid emotion. Shaking fingers brushed the red hair from her face. He choked on the lump in his throat. He kissed her forehead, cradling her close to his chest. He couldn't control the tears that poured down his face. "Babs...honey....please...life without you isn't a life worth living..."

Dick continued to fight using his car, still shooting non lethal at the robbers. Nightwing did not feel any remorse for people like these, even when it came to crime families. It was a mistake for them to choose a place like this, in front of innocents and GPD’s finest to make their point. At the same time Dick could not wonder how Batgirl was doing at the same time was worried. Visuals were picking up on Barbara and how she was holding up against these crooks, and surprisingly doing very well. She was no longer a little girl and proving everyone, even Jim and Bruce wrong.
Finishing off the last robber in front of him, Dick could see that Barbara was down as his eyes were wide. “Barbara!”, he said before quickly pressing a red button. “Eject!”, he said quickly as Dick came out of the car like a bat out of hell, quickly slide kicking the bastard who hurt Babs from behind, before taking him and knocking him out well thanks to Jim of course. Quickly he went to Barbara’s aid with her father Jim.“Come on Babs…you gotta hang in there…please”, he said softly to her. “I..I can’t loose you”, he told her, trying to give her words of comfort.

Blood dripped from her lips, and she couldn't focus on anything specific. Her gaze fuzzy, her emerald eyes were dim as ever. She coughed, blood spewing from her mouth, trickling down her lips and chin. She heard a voice, and knew it was her father's. But it took a moment for her brain to process what he had said. "D-d-d-dad?" She coughed harder, her voice fragmented and stuttering. She coughed a little harder, crying out in pain as his hand pressed down on to wound, sending waves of agonizing pain through her.
She gagged in pain, her eyes still unfocused, blood spilling between her father's fingers. She hated herself for putting him through this. She saw no way of surviving this. But she knew she would have to try. For her father. And for her lover.
She heard a new voice, and knew it was Dick. She turned her head and saw his outline, but no details, so she replaced them with her memory...what she could recall as her world was slowly beginning to darken. "D-D-D-Dick?" She choked out, listening to his words, she felt more like a monster than before.
She knew she was killing her father, that she never wanted her father to have to deal with this. How she didn't want him to ever have to bury her....She knew this wasn't a walk in the park for her beloved Dick either. She knew she couldn't live without him...And that she hoped that he would be able to continue living if she....if she actually died tonight...
That thought scared her. Only an insane person didn't' have a fear of dying. It was natural to fear death. And Barbara Gordon feared death. Her vision was black around the edges. It was becoming harder and harder to pull in air, and when she could she barely got any...In her own mind, she had already given up on survival....

J I M G O R D O N! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - A broken sob broke past his lips, as he moved his finger to brush the blood from her lips. He closed his eyes, each moment he spent, helpless at her side, ripping out his heart again and again. There wasn't a thing he could do to ease her pain and that alone sent agony through his own heart. "Shh..I'm sorry...I'm sorry...Babs, honey....hang on sweetie, hang on, stay with me...please stay with me...help is coming, I promise, help is coming," he spoke gently, his voice thick with pain and sorrow.
"Just hold on."
His voice tightened, he was begging her now, begging her not to leave him. The only person that suceeded in bringing a smile to his face when all he wanted to do was frown was his daughter. She was the only person who got him to laugh when all he wanted to do was cry. She was the only person who got him to continue when he just wanted to give up. But now, she couldn't give up. He wasn't going to let her give up, just as she hadn't let him give up all those times.
"Listen to me, Barbara, you can't give up, do you hear me? You can't. I"m not going to let you give up, you're strong, Babs, you're a strong young woman and I"m proud to call you my daughter, but I can't let you give up...not now....not ever..." His voice was firm, but it held the unmistakable sense of sorrow and thick prickle of pleading.
Because he words rang true.
He couldn't loose her.

The only thing Dick could do was just sit next to Babs while her father was encouraging her to fight and never give up. Dick wish he could of done that to his parents, telling them not to give up and live so they can continue to be a family and continue performing as The Flying Graysons. Seeing Babs in blood reminded him of what happened to his parents. Dick at times blamed himself for not telling his parents what Tony Zucco would do once the show was over. If he went over to the police, then Zucco would not have gotten off scott free, he would be rotting in prison cell. But he would not have met Bruce Wayne, the billionaire and his wife Hailey, they would not have taken him in their own care. So many what ifs but the what if he could not think of is Barbara dieing.
All Dick could do is pray to the heavens, pray to God to not take away Barbara Gordon from him, Bruce and even his father. Sometimes he wished he could of died too and went with his parents to the big circus in the skies but his parents would not let him do that, not a chance. They would encourage Dick to keep fighting and never give up on anything he wanted to do in the world. He missed them everyday and would look through albums, remembering the good old days when Dick could just be happy, not thinking about anything else. “Come on Barbara, fight” , he said softly to her. “You have to live for all us, we need you”, he said to her again softly before he could hear the ambulance coming. “Commissioner, it’s on the way” Dick told him.

Barbara coughed, her eyes getting darker. She managed to focus on her father, her hand fumbling for his. She coughed, more blood spilling down her front. "D-D-Dad....I-I-I w-w-will a-always be in y-y-your h-h-heart..." She choked out, feeling herself letting go.
She knew she had to hold on for him. That it would kill him. But even as she tried, her world continued to grow darker. She couldn't stop it as her vision started to close in around her. She wanted to stay with her father. She wanted to stay with Dick.
She turned her head to look at the man she loved. "D-D-Dick... I l-l-love y-you..." she choked out quietly. She knew she had crystal tears rolling. down her cheeks now. She couldn't stop them. She knew she couldn't. Not now...
