She turned to face him. "Don't be." She shook her head slowly. She gently pressed her lips on his cheek and then turned away.
"Sorry." She started to walk away. No longer running from everything, just running from emotion. Running from passion and desire. She shook her head slowly, looking down.

"I don't want to loose you..." He murmured. "I lost you once and that was hard enough...don't leave me again...maybe we can somehow figure this out..." But somewhere in his heart he knew that he loved Sam and that Hailey was only a sister to him.

She shook her head, not meeting his eyes. "No, you moved on. It's.." She bit her lip, still not looking at him. "My fault for living in the past." She bit back a tear and kept here eyes away from him, and his face, and his eyes. She shook her head sadly, and remembered all the 'fun' they had on the battle field. She almost cried then, but soldiers don't cry. Ans she was still, and always would be, a soldier.
Don't cry now, soldiers never cry, and you know it! She though angrily to herself. "I'm not leaving you. I'm leaving feeling." She bit her tounge. |

Steve sighed and closed his eyes. "Hailey, part of me while always need you here beside me." He looked at her, her hair, her eyes - downcast, her lips...and without really knowing why, knowing that it would only hurt her and him, Captain Steven Grant Rogers, leaned in and kissed Hailey Heart.

She was unprepared for the kiss, but enjoyed it none the less. She turned towards him, and wrapped her amrs around his neck. She kissed back. Stop! This will only get both of you hurt!! Her brain screamed at her, but she pushed it away. She tried to stop, but she didn't want to be the first to pull away, she had wanted this for so long, she didn't want it to stop. |

His found his own hands holding her face and stroking her cheek with his thumb after brushing a strand of golden hair away from her face. What are you doing!? screeched his mind as their kiss deepened, This is only going to stab you in the heart later!
But like Hailey, Steve didn't want it to end.
And he didn't regret kissing her.
Did that mean his heart was to be at war between Sam and Hailey?
He guessed that was what it meant.

Her hand slid up and held his, against her face. She wasn't sure where this would lead but she knew one thing. She would always love Steve, no matter what Broden said, ot wouldn't change how she felt. And maybe there was a chance he loved her. Alright, you keep kissing, but it will hurt later... Her own brain seemed to give up on her. She smiled lightly agisnt his lips, the kissin still deepening. It seemed she would get her wish of this kiss, never ending. |

Steve broke the kiss to catch his breath. He smiled at her, eyes glowing slightly. He closed the distance once again and kissed her again, passionately. You'll regret this later. came the voice, flat and disproving, in his head but like Hailey's it seemed to give up on him.
He was in a tug-a-war with himself. He couldn't chose between Sam and Hailey, both wonderful people. Both beautiful women. Both people who changed his life. Both beautiful women had stolen his kiss...and now, what was he to do? How could he chose when part of his heart belonged to Sam when the other half had always and would always belong to Hailey?

Now you've just made it impossible to let go... Her brain seemed to sight, as it was wisked away with a passion as old as World War Two. Her heart would always belong to him, and she couldn't change that. |

His mind seemed to call him a fool as he let his hand slip behind her neck, letting his fingers run through her hair. He missed her. He missed them. He'd given up on her, while she was still fighting for him. Now he realized that there was a part of him that would always belong to her. But whether or not it was bigger then the part that belonged to Sam was something he didn't know. He knew he was being stupid and that he'd later regret this and be hurt by it, but he didn't care. Not right now.

She shivered slightly as his hand slipped onto her neck. She missed this. She missed them just like he did. She had a fighting heart, and it would never stop, espically for Steve. She remembered their first mission, how she allowed herself to be shot to hell just to get him out. She still had several scars from that day, but they were only reminders of what people do for love, what she did for love. See, I do love him, I always will... She kissed him passionatly. |

Just as Hailey was, he relived their first mission. She'd gotten shot so many times just to get him out alive. They'd both been on the brink of death, but somehow they survived and here they were together again. Steve didn't know to think anymore, not since he'd leaned in and kissed her.

Her heart was fluttering in her chest, and it didn't look like it would stop. She broke the kiss to breath, pressing her forehead gent;y agaisnt his. "I love you." She whispered, breathing in and out, trying to not pass out. Why she was on the verge of passing out, she was not sure. She opened her eyes, and smiled softly at him. "I think I always have." She was telling the truth, she always had. |

The words she spoke echoed inside of his head. For a moment he said nothing and then he heard his voice murmur, while his mind screamed at him to shut up and move away while he still had a chance, "Hailey, I love you too...I believe I always have as well..." His mind fell silent, bitterly silent as though it had abandoned him.

She smiled, a qenuine reall smile, who only Steve seemed to be able to pull out of her. Her stormy gray eyes, though they seemed very clear at the moment, were glowing soflty alight with love. "I'm very happy to hear you say that." She smiled again, her eyes lighting up even more. She leaned in and kissed his cheak, gently, the way she used to, weather it was to teasr him or to show him she cared, it was all worth it to her. She smiled at him again. |
